Brenda worked hard on the relationship with Dylan and pushed him to be a better person. With Kelly there was just sexual tension and she got more caught up in his bad boy ways aka seeming like she allowed him to be himself but she really couldn't handle it. Plus Kelly was always more needy and less independent than Brenda. Brenda didn't and wouldn't put up with Dylk drinking and spiraling behavior. Think his character was drawn to both ladies for what they brought out in him. But I always felt he was at his best with Brenda.

Kel later comes over(when she said she'd stay away), brings Dylan something 4 HIS BIKE & tells him that their the only ppl not going crazy about the SAT's to make herself seem just right 4 him knowin Bren mentioned all that stuff 4 Kel 2 even kno.. Dylan will always love Brenda, she was his first real love, helped him push past his alcohol addiction, mend ties with his family, she saved him, like he once said. And she wasn’t only an epic love, she was an amazing friend, just as good, maybe even a better friend than Brandon. But due to whatever reasons, sadly their relationship began to fall apart, and never got quite back to the place it once was. It was a lot of back and forth, off and on, and etc. there’s a saying actions speak louder than words, and as much as I myself love brenda and Dylan, I’m not going to fool myself into believing Dylan expressed either. Perhaps he did show or say small signs signaling his doubt and regret about his exit from their relationship, but every small signal he sends cannot he misconstrued into a grand gesture, signaling his love for brenda. He never said it, he never showed it. Yes he is vulnerable, fragile and has a hard time with these things, but he’s said it to brenda many times before, and if he really felt it in his heart he would have said it again. And frankly, Brenda deserved better! She deserved a best friend who didn’t go behind her back canoodling with her boyfriend! But most importantly, Dylan, her boyfriend whom she loved and trusted, and a very good friend of hers, should have remained loyal to the girl and friend he claimed to “love” and not hurt and deceive her the way he did. As much as this video was inslightful and fed my brenda/Dylan obsession, the directors of this show in an attempt to pave the path of Shannon’s (Brenda) exit from the show made two toxic relationships a prime role example on the show, forgiving bad friends, and boyfriends. Brenda so easily forgiving Kelly for stealing her boyfriend and treating her badly after, and her forgiving Dylan, remaining his friend so easily, and of course willing to take him back and pining over him, even after he cheated and was still presently with his mistress is despicable and sets a horrible example for young girls, who may be even going through a similar experience themselves. This is all I wanted to say, and congratulations to anyone who read up to this part. And great video, it was very insightful and showed some great mental points Dylan had in his relationship.
Dylan always secretly wanted to be a part of the Walsh family. They were everything he always yearned for in his life. A family, with stable parents, everyone eating dinner together at 6 p.m. Kelly had the same unstable, Beverly Hills upbringing that Dylan had with divorced parents with many issues. But he could never be that guy because he had to fend for himself for so many years.. he marched to the beat of his own drum after being a loner for so long and didn't like being told what to do.

This whole scene showed kelly never really changed. Even Dylan realised. I always thought this moment summed up his relationships with Kelly and Brenda. Here he is flirting with Kelly, but it's not really him. It's him from the beginning of season one, pre- Brenda. When he was lost and a 'bad boy'. He's lost right now and Kelly is the easy option, after she leaves he goes back to the conversation with Brenda. She never really left his mind. Although there conversation was more intense it showed the depth of their relationship and that they really loved each other. Brenda brought out the best in him. Kelly the worst.

I agree that Dylan did come across a lot more trashy with Kelly as she did with him, lol. I liked her most with Brandon & Collin as strange as that may sound because she seemed like a better person with Brandon... like a wife or something, and with Collin, they were just entertaining as heck and had this crazy chemistry, but we knew it was a relationship that wasn't meant to last though. Dylan & Brenda were def the Epic couple of the show though and D/K NEVER compared or replaced like they tried
She was great with Brandon. That's actually the only time I liked her after the 1st 2 seasons. Brandon made her better like Brenda helped Dylan reveal his good side that everyone misunderstood before she got there.

Kelly never understood Dylan the way Brenda did. Just watch during the time of Jacks funeral when Kelly doesn't know what to say to him, upset that he won't talk to her and makes it all about herself. Brenda, however with just a few words and the gesture that she's there for him shows exactly why she will always be the best girl for him. I found Kelly fake at times, selfish and very superficial. Brenda and Dylan had so many special moments it was based on real true love. Kelly was something exciting, new seductive but soon that novelty wore off and all they did is fight and play games with one other. Very toxic relationship, they should have not gotten back together after their trip to Europe. Dylan didn't call Kelly, he called Brenda. That says it all to me.

@@andreadetata4801 For me Brenda and Dylan belonged together. Kelly was better with Brandon. Brandon brought out the best in Kelly, she was more secure and fun and just a better person with him. Brenda brought out the best in Dylan at times, she pushed him to be better. Pretty much all Kelly and Dylan did is fight. They never listened to each other or respected what the other person wanted. Were Brenda and Dylan perfect? No they had their issues and some drama but end of the day what they had was real, true love. They always believed in each other and supported one another. They started out authenticly, unlike Kelly and Dylan who started out by sneaking around behind Brendas back so its no surprise to see how badly they ended. They should have stayed broken up, they should have not gotten back together in the finale nor should they have made Dylans a dead beat father to Kellys kid in the spinoff. BD should have stayed together off screen. I also wish Brandon had came back to end up with Kelly
That said, I also wasn't crazy about Brenda, but I liked her and Dylan together more so than him and Kelly. He had a much more quality air about him with Brenda. With Kelly, he seemed more trashy somehow. I liked Kelly with Jake, actually. They had a lot of chemistry. She had much less with Dylan.

His relationship with Kelly was very volatile she didn't seem to get him on the level that Brenda did same with Toni. When Toni died who he go running too? Brenda.. even after Kelly had a baby with him apparently she was still jealous of Brenda and Dylan is relationship and they weren't even together.The man's heart belong to brenda And, when Luke Perry was asked who was his favourite couple on the show in 2017 he said Brenda and Dylan he wanted them to end up together.... He is gone now So,Maybe with the reboot we can put pressure on them to give us that closure and a happy ending for the best damn couple eva. If Brenda and Dylan fans come together to make his wish come true..... It's no secret that shannen will only do the show in his honor... In a certain way, he already broke up with Brenda in this scene. Just consider: When he persuades Brenda to move away to live her dreams, he obviously wants some distance. This is a warning sign.

I much prefer Dylan and Brenda as a couple over Dylan and Kelly. I don't "hate" Kelly, but her getting involved with Dylan was tacky and the ultimate best friend betrayal. It's true Dylan was at fault, too, but if Kelly had not been hanging out with him so much, it likely wouldn't have happened. People in real life go through these exact same things, being attracted to a friend's gf or bf. Normal people know to sort of keep a distance. I've been through it and kept my distance.
I partially agree with your comment. Daylan should have kept his distance from Kelly. Brenda wasn't even gone and he is meeting up with Kelly alone like the way he looks at her when telling Brenda he loves her, and not telling Brenda Kelly stopped by etc. Something was brewing. This scene struck me as a bit strange, I guess. Almost as if he is pushing Brenda out of the way. What Kelly did was tacky. But it takes two to Tango. Men as well as women, if truly committed, are perfectly capable of being faithful. But Brenda was the real deal. She was there for him through thick and thin. She was fierce and independent. It wasn't just lust or infatuation. I'd like to think they ended up together eventually.

I remember when I got the set for Christmas, my brother put Brenda and Kelly in my toy pink limo and said "let's just go" (what Thelma said to Louise in the movie) and threw them off the top our stairs in my mom's house. I remember back then American audiences hate Brenda's character, also Shannen's diva behavior made that the producers put more importance in Jennie's character, but everybody recognized that after Shannen left the show, 90210 wasn't the same and two seasons next Luke Perry, Gabrielle Carteris left the show too. After Jason Priestley decided to leave the show in season 9, Aaron Spelling brought back Luke for the last two seasons. But for me, if the actors would stay to the end, the end game would be Dylan with Brenda and Brandon with Kelly

Audiences didn’t hate Brenda. That was a gimmick put out by producers. It was PR fluff because they knew they were gonna fire Shannon. Shannon didn’t know her head was on the chopping block. She did have her behind the scenes antics but audiences loved the Brenda character and the ratings tanked when Shannon left the show.

Exactly,, I remember even a SNL episode with Jason Priestley or Luke Perry when some of the audience ask him about Brenda telling that the hate thing for her character...a can't remember the magazine which told that story at the end of season four and the news about casting Tiffany Thiessen in the show. The same magazine also published about Alyssa Milano as the new Brenda, but later Aaron Spellimg called her for a rol in Melrose Place and later she and Shannen were reunited for the main roles in Charmed along with Holly Marie Combs

She was the star of the show and everyone I knew liked her and were totally on Brenda’s side with the love triangle. Even today Brenda is by far the most popular character and Shannen very much loved. That time period was very weird.

Dylan was a lost soul he knew it too. He loved brenda but he did not want her to drop her college dreams to be with him where he himself struggled with his demons no parents around to guide his future in Brendas family he found the family he needed. At this point he was sexually attracted to Kelly who also had to raise herself with her mom being a drug addict. When he looks at kelly and says to brenda i love you but he was lusting after kelly. Yeh when shannon left or got fired show kind of lost its steam thought they brought valerie, it was like wait thats Brendas room.yeh they never wrote her out of the show they just kept her storyline and just brought it out to use i was hoping they bring her back on. Well they did a series reboot in 2008 with kelly, donna and brenda i only watched the episodes that they were in. But to not have dylan on that a slap i heard that he was not happy that they put a storyline in that he was the dad of kellys son and had abandoned kelly so he did refused to appear. Now with luke passing away no closure to that now shannon cancer return sort of sad.

no, you're not too into it. Most of us feel just like you and I think we would've all ended up finding out Dylan never loved Kelly like he loved Brenda had Shannen never left the show or returned. Him turning up in London with Brenda season 6 after Antonia died showed that.

I'm sorry but Dylan is pushing her away without looking mean. He is falling for Kelly. That's is why he telling her to leave for school. He was tired of all of this. Brenda in all honesty totally played with Ricks head. People think Brenda is ao innocent. She played that guy Rick for one. That is straight-up evil, saying you are another person then it turns out you are someone different. Then she breaks of Dylan only to learn she has zero connection with Rick. Then she goes back to Dylan. But she never thought Dylan would pick ANYONE OVER HER. She tells Brandon that when Dylan finally chooses between. I really think Brenda acted selfishly.
