We all chose them but some of the cast and producers. What a shame, considering we, the audience, were making the show popular. The ratings weren't the same after season 4 as a result. I'll never understand how they could split such an iconic couple as if we didn't exist. When Luke passed away, i was utterly sad because it's a bit of my teenage years that left with him; but i swear my second thought was for the Brenda+Dylan reunion that would finally never happen... They did us and Brenda especially dirty. I remember reading about the "I hate Brenda" movement back in the day whilst it's actually obvious the majority of us were all big fans of her character and rooting hard for her and Dylan. This was pre social media and I hate to think Shannen may have thought the audience disliked her. Those writers and producers did everything for us to believe that was the case. We've been robbed!

I will never understand Dylan and Kelly fans. He never treated her well and always chose Brenda, as this video makes perfectly clear. Dylan hurt Kelly repeatedly. Dylan and Brenda hurt each other. Brandon and Kelly hurt each other. That's how it should have been and that's how it will always be, whatever crap they tried to spin in later seasons and on the revival. Excellent vid and fantastic editing.
The best part of the Kelly and Dylan pairing was watching her constantly feeling insecure and treated as second option/regret. The one scene where he yells "let her go" when Steve was going to run behind her when she stormed out still keeps me hollering. She deserved ever feeling of inadequacy during that relationship. And the only time she got to have him put her first was after his wife died and he went to live with Brenda in Paris. Then came back to her (the show) as second option again in addition to being back on drugs. So I take that back she has never been his first choice.. She never got the best version of him. The only time he was on the straight and narrow was with Brenda and then Toni (his wife).
