- Well, overnighter #1 was eventful - Had a couple critters walking around the bush & hit the bait which I believe were Coyote & Lynx but unsure as I couldn't see anything at all under the waning crescent moon we had this week.
But its time for the 2nd night... The tea is brewed & the snacks are packed! Its quite peaceful sitting in a small hut/cabin-like hunting blind all alone in the bush, something feels "right" about it all, whether a Wolf attends the bait or not, its still wonderful seeing the Ravens play with one another, or the small Chickadee birds picking away at the fat under the poplar cubby we built.
There is still time left... The hunt is not over!

Great content once again ! One suggestion for you would be if you have cell service at your property to get cell cams , they are game changers ! Happy hunting
I can get at least 1 bar of service out here! The cell cams would for sure work, but its just a matter of scrounging up the $$$ for the monthly subscription for the data & what not. It would make for a good investment because the moment the Wolves are on the bait I could sneak in & maybe spot & stalk one... Might be worth looking into!

Pileated woodpeckers are one of my favorite birds so cool . Still action at the bait site so that’s good and your right brother it’s called hunting not harvesting ! Don’t get discourage you’re learning the land and the patterns of nature if not for this season for next it’s all a learning experience. Plus the ravens brought you breakfast in bed lol how bad can it be ! Thanks for sharing

That's a nice wolf on camera. Too bad it doesn't come during shooting light. I used to have bears do the same thing at 1 or 2am. I used to say; there's a reason those bears got so big. They never showed their face during daylight hours. Anyways, like you said; third nights a charm. Crossing my fingers you get one.
That’s the same Wolf who has been coming around midnight, then again around 7:00-8:00AM… the small female is coming around 1:00PM.

What other type of big game do you have on the property?
Well, not specific big game… BUT… so far I’ve observed:
Whitetail Deer, Moose, Black Bear, Coyote, Lynx… then a ton of bird species (owls, woodpeckers, grouse, etc..)
The wildlife are abundant!!!!
