  • Do you want to buy a leather guitar strap? Walsall are the finest money can buy and hand made in Walsall, England.
Check out over 50 5 star reviews and read what people say about them. Many of which are attributed to this strap..... rguitars.co.uk...
Walsall Leather Guitar Straps have received the highest praise from everyone who has bought and reviewed one - with many people buying 2 or 3 guitar straps to ensure all of their guitars are equally comfortable and well protected :)
If you buy a guitar, strap and straplocks from Richards Guitars we will attach the straplocks to the guitar and strap ready for when it gets to you!
From the heart of Walsall, a skill has been passed down through the generations - since the 1800s in fact. Famed for their saddle and bridle makers, Walsall is literally the heart of the leather working Industry in the UK
The skills you witness in this video were passed down from grandfather, to father, to son.
When I witnessed this I just had to get involved as it mirrors the effort that we put into every hand finished guitar.
Walsall guitar straps represent the ultimate in quality from the quality of the leather through to the skills of the craftsman involved. This chap for example produces £3500 saddles for pro horsemen!
I want to support British skills and where better to look than the production of the finest quality straps that can accompany the guitars we recommend?
I have personally put this video together - its taken me hours but I just so desperately wanted to show that just like every guitar sold - not every strap is the same either!
Walsall leather guitar straps can now be found exclusively at Richards Guitars or via walsallguitarstraps.co.uk
I really hope you enjoy the video and it gives you an appreciation for the quality of the straps and the work involved.
I am personally so proud to be involved and working with these guys. Fingers crossed you appreciate them too.

Remember if you buy a Walsall strap & straplocks when ordering a guitar - we will fit the straplocks to your guitar and connect the strap to the straplocks all free of charge for you - along with the setup which of course is free too.

When a town's football club has a nickname derived from what was once and sometimes still is produced there, you can't usually go far wrong. Northampton Town - The Cobblers, Luton Town - The Hatters, Stoke City - The Potters, Walsall - The Saddlers, these chaps have leatherworking skills going back a long, long time.

Wow! Thanks Richard for posting this. What a pleasure to watch such skilled hands making these gorgeous straps. The way they use that curved knife is awesome, and such precision with everything. Of course, as with all true craftsmen they make it look easy (ish), but you can just tell how many years of knowledge goes into producing these. Ridiculously cheap for something that wonderful, handmade, and that will last forever too.
Thanks again for filming this and showing us. 👍

    Richard;
    Excellent Craftsmanship!
Great job, and you left no stone unturned.
I am a Machine Shop Owner. And the Master Machinist.
Plus, a Welder, Diver Commercial Fisherman, Cab-Driver, Logger, Chef and Dish-washer...
I am The Big Boss. The one that signs the paychecks, and un-stops the toilets...
    I admire Craftsmanship above all.
    One Question:
That sewing machine is awesome. I kind'a wished you had sewn in white so I could better see the pattern, but which model is it?
    I have a Singer, 7-33
Old as Moses, straight stitch rig.
But I think I could just about sew steel plate with it.
And I just dove in and bought every leatherworking tool known to man.
    Less than a grand...
As the owner of a collection of good to high-end and custom Guitars ( I am building one of Stabilized Buckeye Burl, presently )
I just can't stand the thought of hanging a $10,000.00 guitar, all frilled out, on a junk strap.
So, I am now tooled up and gonna' do something outstanding.
And, I am doing my homework.
You just taught me about a hundred tricks.
Guys like me shouldn't be allowed to watch videos'
like yours, as we steal every trick we see.
Thank you so much for sharing your techniques and methods. You have already simplified the molehill I was making into a mountain, and yet you laid down further challenges for me.
At 63, I'll never compare to you, I just don't have the lifespan.
But, you sure knocked a lot of rough edges off of me.
My many thanks, and highest respect!
    Mark
    🙂

Walsall always was and still is famous for saddlery and leathergoods and I went to school just down the road in Wednesbury. One of our school’s prize exhibits was a hand-forged candle chandelier made by the great, great grandson of Wyatt Earp. With Walsall famous for saddlery and Wednesbury famous for hand forged rifle barrels and gunlocks you can see why those Blackcountry boys headed off to the Wild West to seek excitement, fame and fortune! Let’s hope some of our guitar picking friends across the pond seek out a bit of our joint heritage.

Hi. That was obviously a mistake but I am glad I found the comment on here. If I knew where you were ordering from I could at least look into it for you but as this post was 2 months ago I probably cant help - but will try and pick apart the checkout to see if I can find a problem with random testiing. You wont find them in a shop somewhere because I have them made especially for me. Its my brand - but of course you will find leather straps. Would love to help you if you ever need another.

Awesome video! Question: is there anything else added to the edges to keep the calf leather and bridle leather from separating over time (the thin area outside the stitch line)? Also, do you use anything like resolene to keep the dye from bleeding?

Hi there. £89 and you can either order them from the Walsall website or ours at rguitars.co.uk. Indeed £89 is ridiculously cheap. If you put some designer brand name on these they would be 3 times the price but the reality is you won't find a better strap.
