Great adaptation I love this version even though the lyrics is just a bit off the original composition Nd lyrics in Portuguese. This is beautiful. I love your voice. While I can’t speak to the Language differences.. I totally agree! Lori’s (and the band’s) interpretation of this song might be the best anywhere... and even though I’m a “hardened criminal” (musically speaking), I too get “sucked in”. No matter how many times i come back to this video... magic moment, am I right?

Barbra Striesand recorded "The Island" in 2011. However, I absolutely love Lori Williams silky rendition
of the song as the best English version of Comecar de Novo. Oftentime, music seems to have more
depth and meaning in the language of the composer. Besame Mucho immediately comes to mind
as a prime example. I especially love Ivan Lins/Simone Pedacos sultry rendition of "The Island" in Portuguese.

You're completely right. It is a great, great rendition but the lyrics are, indeed, far too diferent. I know it's not the singer's fault. In portuguese it is about pain and survival, to be ready to start all over again, altough you are hurted. It's a very sad and beautiful song.
