Thanks for showing different methods to plant your seed. For those of us with limited equipment and knowledge it will be very helpful!!
Absolutely the best plot screen I've used. I've been using this for three seasons now with great success. It will withstand much more harsh weather than other plot screens I've tried in the past. I usually come back and give it a boost of urea after it gets a couple feet tall right before a rain. I recommend this to anyone who wants privacy at their home or for there properties and food plots. Great products from northwoods whitetails
I planted mine June 1 2023! It is up as of June 12 2023! I used triple 15 and urea! Looks great so far! I will fertilize it again in 3 weeks! Great video! HD food plot screen!
I put my HD screen in about 5 weeks ago and it is already 12-18 inches tall. We have not had any appreciable rain in the last 3 weeks and our daytime temps this weekend are supposed to be over 100 degrees. Now we will see how it holds up to Texas summers!!! Praying for the best!!
Thanks John. Love your products
Great video John
Thank you. I’ll be putting your switchgrass and HD screen this first week of June. Sadly I live hours away and hope it works. I did a good gly spray and had to bust up the ground. Sadly may not be able to get back for awhile. Fingers crossed.
I’ll be interested in seeing a follow up video on the results of the switchgrass planted inside the screen.
Way to ruin the video before it starts lol
Great video John thank god we have been getting much wanted rain and more on the way
Super Dry down State too. I tilled last week for this exact screen so I'm hoping we get some decent rain in the near future. Thanks for all the videos and for the great products!
Great video Jon
Just got mine in the ground on Saturday!!!
Love this video! How soon is the 3 strip video going to be coming out?!
Great video John! What could I use in the absence of a disk to get that seed down an inch or so? I have killed and lightly tilled up to this point.
Harrow drag
John we have been having a drought here in Southwest Wisconsin haven't had any rain in almost a month. I was hoping to get my plot screen planted real soon, but not sure how well it will do in these dry conditions. How late can you plant the screen in my area.
Early july
Hi in your earlier videos you said plot screen hd needed night time temps at 60 or above. Down state we are only projecting into low 50’s. Should I hold off on planting or are we warm enough in day time to go ahead and plant. Thanks Mitch
It’s warm enough to plant
My screen is coming in great and is in the 12-18" range. Should I add any fertilizer?
It will depend on what you used at planting
Just put mine in same way except no simazine/atrazine as it’s not available. How much of an effect will the lack of that sim/at have in your estimation?
If you got a good weed kill you should be fine
2-4d can kill broadleaf
Hi John, I was able to spray after planting but I feel like I didn’t get a good enough spay to suppress all the other grasses and weeds (I’ll call them all weeds from now on) and now I’m seeing sorghum and “weeds” coming in. How much with this effect the screen? Will the sorghum out compete the weeds, or is there something we can spray to combats this?
They will slow the screen down.
Quinclorac for grass I have seen.
2-4d for broadleaf
Do a small test area first before spraying the whole screen
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 hand spray? Or will the young screen be able to handle atv tires?
Thank you so much for the response
@@austinbjorge5771 give it some time then hand spray
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 will do! Once again really appreciate it! Looking forward to a great screen and season! Thank you
Would you say that’s over 1/8 of an acre?
Yes
There is more that runs the whole length of the plot on the back side
Does this grow in sandy soil
Yes
After 3 wks how tall should this seed be?
Depending on soil, fertilizer and moisture:
6” to 18”
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 sandy, used 19-19-19 and 46-0-0 at planting.
