Dave said in an interview that they did a Bee Gee's song a couple years ago to bother Westboro Baptist Church protesters and they realized that: A) They did a really good job on it and B) They had a lot of fun doing it. Now we have the Hail Satin album and a ton of fun covers. Dave Grohl is the man.

Oh. My. God. My mom tortured me with 'Copacabana' and her singing so off key, the neighbors complained. Years later, it became our inside joke and her ringtone. It still is. I lost her 7 years ago to cancer. She would've loved this.

When she got to the fancy buffet, she was stuffing as many truffles as she could cram into her mouth. She turned around, and Wayne Newton was right behind her. She said she was so embarrassed having Wayne see her pigging out. He was really nice, she said. I really miss her.

Pretty sure its an old skool studio mic, it has a microphone cable coming out of it and this style of mic was commonplace for years. I just had a look and its a sennheiser md441.

To me, all other bands are rockers, metalheads, DJs etc, but Dave is a musician. Because he play whatever he likes, doesn’t matter if it’s disco, pop, rock, or metal. If he likes it he will do it.
he’s got a such a personality it’s so warming, you can just tell by looking at him he loves what he does.
that's the key to all of it, making it fun.

I use those when English can’t provide the perfect sentiment. “Virus of happiness” is beautiful, because happiness spreads more quickly than its opposite... and it’s in English. How did I discover this only now? Dave Grohl on a "Screw it, I'm going to do karaoke for my career" phase. That's brilliant and that's what makes him one of the top 3 coolest guys in music history right now.

Love it. My one celebrity sighting was Barry Manilow at a mall in Illinois during the early 80s. Glad the Hanukkah Sessions have returned. I take it back. I did see drummer, Kenny Aronoff, at the airport in Indianapolis.
