Here's the facts: Suicide Silence is a Deathcore band, or at least, sound like one. Which is indeed "real" metal. It's meant to sound dark and have often breakdowns to create a monstrously aggressive sound. However, They got their influences from the likes of Pantera and Deftones and other prominent metal bands of the times. You all have no rights to say whether it's real or not, because it just simply is. It's not for everyone, if you like it you're not Scene or emo or any stupid stereotype. you're whoever you are. I personally love listening to this while gaming or working out. I think the new singer is great. He's not the best live but he can improve. I hope this comment educates some of you :)

I LOVED Mitch. I still do. I miss the sob. But I will admit, Eddie was exactly what Suicide Silence needed. It has refreshed their music entirely. It's a mix of everything they've ever done in the past with a twist. I dig the new song and I know Mitch would've wanted the band to continue. He would be proud. Jam this fucking loud.

I've been a Suicide Silence fan for about three years now, But I've never been like all of my deathcore friends that were absolutely obsessed with them. There are just other bands I like more. They're one of those bands I only listen to on shuffle. And when Mitch died, I had just seen them live a few months prior. I was upset, as I thought "wow... Even if they get a new vocalist, there is going to be no more of the Suicide Silence I know and love." I still listened to them just as often. I didn't like them any more or any less. But hearing this, hearing Eddie's voice... It's incredible. He is absolutely amazing. I won't go so far as to say he's more TALENTED, but his voice definitely appeals more to me. I fucking love this.

The thing is, I am new to Suicide Silence and discovered it a few days ago. so I don't really know what type of stuff is going on but I do know that the passing of Mitch has made the start of a new era. I know that Eddie could never deliver what Mitch did but Eddie is amazing in his own way. Its just that people are afraid to change cause year after year, the same vocalists, bassists, and guitarists have stayed without any change and people are worried that the new Suicide Silence wont be able to deliver what the OG one did. Honestly, Eddie gets a lot of hate that he dosen't deserve. He is an amazing vocalist in my opinion. Now we just have to wait and see what they can do. I believe it'll be amazing as Eddie is an amazing vocalist.

Simply because the band owes its fans nothing. Music is personal. Personal doesn't necessarily include anyone else. I'm not saying the band TRIED to get famous or did what they did to get rich or anything. I'm not them and as such I don't know what their intentions were. But when you get down to it, WE made them famous of our own accord. WE bought their albums (occasionally and infrequently). WE went to their shows. WE bought their merchandise. But as most bands start out, I'd be willing to bet they have a passion and a fire and just as people grow over time, so do bands. The band owes us nothing and when a band starts doing things we don't care for, it's time to start listening to other bands that fit our preference. We made them famous. We didn't make the music for them and when we make the music, then we have the right to decide where their sound goes, because I guarantee you, they'll still write music whether or not we like the new stuff and they'd be writing music even if they weren't famous.

The fuck is with all the hate on every single video I go on. "This music sucks, listen to (Insert Amon Amart sound alike generic band here) and learn what real metal is" or "This isn't metal, this is some gay emo pussy shit. Listen to (Lists all metal pioneer bands that they know of here)." Goddamn its all heavy music, half of its metal or some subgenre or fusion genre oorr its hardcore or some type of genre of hardcore.
"I listen to grindcore, death grind, grind death, pornogrind, coregrind, banjo grind, etc" Cool nobody fucking cares just say metal.
Theirs a reason why all heavy genres are hated so much by everyone else. Its cause 2/3 of us are all elitist that have closed minded opinions always ends like "Shut up, listen to REAL metal. Not your pussy shit" Cause nobody can listen to anything other then what you listen to or else its not metal. This is heavier then anything Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Iron Maiden, etc. This isn't close to the heaviness as Black Tongue, Cerebral Paralysis, Infant Annihilator, etc etc. But guess what. Its all metal and the only thing metal needs to have for others to think "ohh cool, he listens to metal" instead of "He listens to metal? HE WORSHIPS SATAN" is for metal elitist to learn that there are other genres of metal and there are other people not you scrimy little pretentious piece of shit. If you can't learn to respect others that listen to any type of heavy music don't even call yourself a metal head. You're just a piece of shit that ruins this genre.
To further my point. Of Mice and Men, a metalcore band, played with Whitechapel a deathcore band. Two different styles and fan bases on the same tour. They sold out in a few weeks for my town.

AGREE 100% I'm a metalhead and I call it metal. Thats it. I also love music from the 60's to now. It all music. Stop being closed minded and ruining this great genre that has so many sub genres for you to enjoy and incorporate into your own sound if you choose to make your own music. ENJOY IT :))))
Roderick Peterson Not really, Whitechapel's fanbase is only "hardcore/scene" because of their popularity, but their music style is the complete opposite of OMnM ontop of the fact that their older music is extremely heavy compared to their new album. But regardless, its two different types of fanbases mashed together. If you want keep thinking how you do then do so, but i would politely ask you to go take your shit stain of an opinion away from mine. This is literally the one time that a band replaced the founding vocalist after his passing and the new vocalist met the unreal expectations. It’s still a sore wound but it’s justified. Keeps the music alive.
