Rachel is a damn national treasure. Literally my fav CZcamsr. I’ve learned a whole lot from her vids and tips. Thx Rach!!!!
💯
And that's why we created the Help Desk. We don't put up with that stuff. We want people to feel accepted and actually take knowledge away from the group. We will never be able to eradicate it entirely, but we monitor the page like hawks.
I go to DJX and always see Rachel there, she is awesome, approachable, and friendly.
Rachel so glad that you started the new site, thank you, and you are so very helpful Very appreciative . Aaron appreciate you also very much.
Glad to hear there is another full working person and DJing on the side!!! Thanks Rachel!!!!
thank you, Rachel for coming on! This was amazing. I play a ton of line dances because it gets people out on the floor. Where I live County rules. If I don't play country the dance floor clears. Lots of people love line dances they have fun. If it works it works.
Excellent interview and episode! DJ Rachel is a perfect example of being laser focused on your dreams and passions, whether if it is DJing or something else. Aaron, your laid back interview approach was a perfect yin to Rachel’s yang. That might be why this was a perfect show. Keep em coming!!!!
Thanks! It was a fun hang!
Great interview bud, keep rockin' steady. Peace !
Thanks!
How many events to be a full time DJ?
The general rule of thumb is to split your income into three piles: one for taxes, one for the business, and one for you. That pile for you has to pay for:
- living indoors
- eating every day
- transportation
- health insurance
- entertainment
- vacations
- family expenses
- retirement
- and whatever else you like to spend your $$$ on
So...what do you need to live on, then triple it and add 20% for emergencies.
Aaron. This show was GREAT. Rachel validated my love for VDJ. It’s an awesome software.
Thanks, having her back on for sure!
Rachel was your Best Guest Star, she’s on top of her game way to go @rachellynch
This was a great conversation! Thanks you Aaron and Rachel for this great content!
Thanks bro!
What’s up Aaron. Bro, you’re a natural. It’s my first time watching the DJSS.
Shout out to DJ Rachel
Thanks bro, means a lot. Glad you enjoyed it, she was awesome
Hercules RMX was my first controller also!
MINT
YASS. Love the show AS n DJRachel
It was fun!
Rachel is good people. She is knowledgeable in her events. As a single op as well I have the upmost respect for her. Great show Aaron
Same, when she talks I wanna listen. Thanks bro
Omg. I have the Hercules RMX. Still have it. That thing was a beast! ❤
I had the Hercules controller too👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥
Hers still looks brand new!
@@AaronStrawn i currently use serato and pioneer but i admit Vdj and Hercules was ahead of their time yeeaars ago bro
I had the Hercules RMX 300, my first controller
I tried virtual Dj and it’s a great piece of software and it’s pretty affordable because they don’t charge to monthly fees and they keep adding stuff but I think is more like a open source type of software were the income of money for the companies limited so there are limited and how advance they get before dj because it’s pretty complicated and time-consuming setting it up to your liking I will give it a try to record box it’s like the happy medium between the vdj and serato DJ and
I am just now catching up.... I have no website either. Thx for a good vid Aaron & Rachel!
You got it!
I’ve been DJing for about 30 years. And I still get you’re the DJ being a woman and the DJ business still to this day you get the comments. But once I start DJing, they see how good I can DJ I don’t worry about it. Rachael, you are so great what you do thank you.
Rachel has some really great content. Some of the line dances make for GREAT comical content. (Cupid shuffle) some people look like they are going to literally kick someone, (Cha Cha Slide) Lots of people turn the wrong way and when they stomp it looks like they're trying to stomp a hole in the the floor.
Came here after the great show with Nick. So I have a Rev 7 natively it unlocks serato dj pro. Does anybody know if I have to buy a license for virtual DJ if I have a controller like that? Thanks I would love to try it out. It’s been years since I last tried it.
I believe you will have to buy the software. I think because VDJ isn't attached to any controller brand
No charge plug ins for video and karoake
I found Rachel only about 2 months ago. Great videos. She's so meticulous it's crazy!
Did you pick a date?
I'm a wedding DJ?🔥🔥😂
Let the bidding begin!
And VDJ still has the "Crash Guard" feature, which allows the software to recover from a bug without interrupting the music. Although, it has probably been over a decade since I've seen any kind of crash with VDJ.
I’m leaning towards a change, the features are unreal
You don’t need to learn a lot to dmx. Vibrio iPad app. Map scenes to a novation launchpad. Easy.
I like my remote control lol, I know you’re right though
@@AaronStrawn no doubt. It would be my 2nd choice for sure. Just the pricing is a lot. Nice products though
I'm 61. Have been DJ'ing since 1979...
OG in the house!
Some DJs say that the sync button is cheating. I wouldn't
necessarily say that using the sync
button is cheating. I know why OG
DJs would say so. Before the sync
button we had to match BPM
manually. Took some skill to do so. Now you can quickly press a button and BAM tempos are matched. However, wouldn't it also be cheating if you're using a controller in general? The controller allows us DJs to push
our creativity and create dope mixes with new technology. If you're not about the evolution of the DJ art then Controllers aren't for you. Might as well stick to your vinyl and turntables.
💯
Exactly. With a turn table and records, you can't set cue points either, right? So are the 8 cue points I have saved "cheating"? How about the loops? I never DJ'd with vinyl, so maybe it was possible? Point being...there's not a controller out there today that DOESN'T have a Sync button and hot cue buttons. I learned to DJ when CDJs were the thing, so never even learned vinyl technique. Let's move past the hate for the Sync button old school DJs! 😝 There are much more important things to gripe about! 😂
DJ groups scare me on any platform. they can be so negative and arrogant. I steer clear, but I'll join Rachel's.
