Just followed the instructions step by step. Thank you so much. I had mine for 7 years before I had to replace my battery. My laptop is way faster now that it has the proper power.
Thank you! Thanks to this video I was able to change the battery in my wife’s laptop and didn’t have to buy a replacement gaming laptop. Maybe Sims 5 will make us pull the trigger….. :)
Thank you very much for this tutorial! It helped me replace my laptop battery that looked like it was going to explode. LOL! Keep up the great work, guys.
Referenced this video to repair my laptop which had a badly swollen battery. I caught it too late to avoid it damaging the main board (cracked it over where the batter was swollen) but atleast now i can close the laptop normally again and I just need to add some protective tape over where it's cracked until i find a more permanent repair option. This was my first try at a battery replacement like this, took me ages to do it, but the guide made the process much less stressful. Thank you for your work.
I had to additionally remove the m2 drive and detach the hard drive (not unplug it, though) before I could get the panel away enough to access the battery easily. Also, when putting it back together, be sure the wifi card and battery cable are not stuck under the panel you're screwing back on; otherwise, get ready to take it all apart again!
Good video, and yes it's a giant pain in the ass if you have never done this before. Some of my screws got stripped and there were some "extra" ones once I got done. WLAN card I could not get it back in the same way it came, but no issues since. Recommend y'all have a few things to separate the screws so you know which ones go where. Thanks for the video!
If your new battery expands shortly after install, that points to a problem with your charger or perhaps the outlet. This probably won't happen. Typically, lithium ion batteries only expand near the end of their life. You should expect your new laptop battery to last several years, bud. Good question.
Before changing the battery, the computer could barely even last long enough to boot up. As you can see in the footage, the battery had puffy fields, representing destroyed cells. It is difficult to quantify battery performance based solely on hours used because this type of measurement largely depends on intensity of application use. That being said, after the replacement, it performed equivalent to brand new! It is a fairly simple exchange with excellent results 😃
You may be able to get away with searching your laptop's model number for the correct battery, but there is a surprising amount of inaccurate information published. In order to avoid purchasing the wrong battery (good luck returning it), I now favor opening up your laptop and verifying it firsthand. The information will be printed directly on your battery.
My cover says to remove ssd 1/2/3 in addition to the wlan before service. And, so, how can i get the wlan screw to loosen without stripping the head? Ugghhhhh
@VestigialVoice I did. It finally came loose and I got the extremely swollen battery out! Ooowee! Won't let it go that long again in that condition! I think all of the screws sighed in relief from the pressure being lifted. LOL!!!
All I wanted was to do a simple battery replacement
Alienware: Lol

Also props to Dell/Alienware for making battery replacement into a damn form of rocket science for the average consumer
You're welcome, kyuubi. It feels good to hear our video was helpful!

This video made me decide it's not worth the effort. My son, who inherited my old laptop, can use it plugged in! 🤣
You made me laugh, James 😊
My battery goes down even when it is plugged in

thank you , i have the same problem in my Alienware 15 R4 laptop can i remove the battery and use the laptop without the battery
Gosh, that's a good question, Abo, did you try it out?
Question : Will the new replacement battery bulge again as the old one ?

Doing the time you changed the battery how many hours was the battery lasted after used?

@@VestigialVoice thanks
@@vesto6864 After about a year from the replacement, the laptop is still preforming well on the new battery. :)
How would I find out what battery my Alienware has? Thanks.

@@VestigialVoice I thought that may be the best way, thank you for clarifying and your fast reply :)

Just noticed my battery not charging up and here now.
I can’t even get the screws out, they go on forever

Make sure to use the correct screwdriver and it won't strip, Donna. Good luck 🍀
