42:38 THANK YOU. I spent hours trying to refit the battery connector to the motherboard. All the other videos I watched skipped over many steps or said “just reverse the steps”, while coyly ignoring all the important details. This video is excellent! Thanks again. Hopefully my laptop comes back to life when I charge up the new battery. 😊

Thank you very much for such a detailed instruction! Had the very same problem with a bloated battery in Alienware 15 R3 (2017). The malfuctioning battery already cracked the base panel between the touchpad and the front edge, and lifted the base panel badly. Looked horrible. I was afraid to lock the laptop out of fear to damage the screen, and that sulfuric acid from the battery may leak and cause a wreck. Thanks to your instructions the complicated removal procedure passed out successfully, without damaging a laptop, just a few screw plastic bases cracked somewhere. I failed to unsrew those tiny screws for led panel connectors in the back corners, since all my screwdrivers turned out to be too big for it. But I managed somehow to proceed with battery removal without disconnecting the led connectors, just removed carefully those optic sticks. When I have reassembled the laptop back, everything worked fine. The base panel smoothed out, and even the cracks turned to be unnoticeable. Thank you!

This was very helpful. Ordered the battery as soon as I watched this video and replaced it without any issues. Went ahead and cleaned all the components and changed the thermal paste as well. Gracias!

It's absolutely crazy that you need to do all of that to just replace a battery.

Thank you! Great video and explanation. It certainly is a lot of work just to change the battery, but while I was in there I upgraded RAM, cleaned the fans and did the CPU and GPU re-pasting as well. My fans had a very slight different casing mechanism but nothing too complicated. For anyone who’s planning to do something similar, you might as well buy the thermal paste and thermal tape (just in case yours is worn) and do it all. Get extended life from your laptop

I bought a replacement battery for my 4 year old Alienware laptop thinking replacing the old one would be like any other. Many thanks for your video, it was very helpful and allowed me to change mine with not a single spare screw left afterwards :)

Nice video... I used it to replace my battery in my Alienware 15 R3 system... great detail. I would recommend special care on pulling the battery wires and the lighting wires... those tend to be very delicate. Again, thank you for an excellent video and education on how to replace this battery.

only an hour? I’ve been at this for days. I would not have attempted this if I knew all the difficulties I would encounter. Like having the killer wifi connectors come away from the card (Alienware 17 R4, *slightly* different to the 15 R3).
