Totally agree! I just launched my first game on Xbox & PS5. It's not easy, but I know each subsequent launch will get easier.
Do you have any tips for getting onto Switch? That was my only application that was denied.
How much money did you spend all together
Consoles will never be obsolete, I don't know why anyone would consider that
Especially with the like of Nintendo!
its depend on the genre too, platforming, side scroller do great in handheld but first person dev should focus on vr too. Good video as always.
Thank you! Great point and I appreciate the support!
I’m on this boat right now. I spoke with Microsoft and they’ve sent me forms to sign which is great. Nintendo basically wants me to send them more details.
Either way i now am looking some kind of sdk to test my game on consoles. I was hoping you make a breakdown of this. I believe I neeed to be “approved” by then and receive some sdk files. I have a few tutorials online but didn’t work for me so test my game on my Xbox series S
I watched a youtube gamedev, and he said he made most of his money from porting to consoles. Thousands of dollars he wouldn't have made otherwise.
That's definitely the case for so many of us. It's definitely a less saturated market, with the illusion of no bloatware
3:59 can you please tell me what's game is that's?

I think Godot is a good alternative to game devs that are put off by Unity's nonsense; the requirement for third-party support to get your game on console will turn off some indie devs too.
Also if I might be so bold to ask but when I saw you mention your first game Glo I thought that it looked like a fun little game that I would be interested in; but I noticed that there was no Xbox ver. I would have loved to get it but it's not there is there a reason there was no Xbox release?, just genuinely curious; anyways thanks for the videos and have a great day!
Problem with Gadot is half the community around it advocating for it is FOSS fanboys who have never shipped a game and don't know anything relevant to game dev realities. Its a principle only for them, a team sport, a religion. They aren't evangelizing from the position of a game dev. Gadot is actually pretty great... if you only plan to do certain kinds of games and release to itch. Its quite poor as a broad use game engine for wide release.
