After 15 Years Of Friendship, This Tiger And Bear Just Said A Final Farewell To Their Lion Brother

Social media users went crazy when they first heard the story of the bear, the lion and the tiger whose tortured pasts made them inseparable furr-ever friends. Yes, the trio lived together happily for over a decade, but now fate has stepped in to take one of the brothers away for good. Their parting is heartbreaking.
The touching story of the eclectic friends began back in 2001 when police carried out a drug raid on a house in Atlanta. The officers’ search took them to the basement of the house, where they found something that must have made their jaws hit the floor. There, three caged exotic animal cubs had been kept in terrible conditions.
The babies - a bear, a lion and a tiger - were underweight, underfed and infested with parasites both inside and out. And, in addition to their malnourishment and neglect, the animals had suffered horrible abuse in their cages, which were clearly not fit for animals of their size.

Baloo is all alone now, however, I wouldn't be surprised if his two "brothers", Leo and Shere Khan, visit from time to time in one manner or another---a gentle caress along with the wind, a soothing growl out of nowhere, a playful tug late at night during peaceful slumber---Love that strong never truly fades.
One day, Baloo, Leo, and Shere Khan will be reunited---playing and lolling over the Rainbow Bridge.

The constant marking with the scent glands, think bears got em to, its just like other cats it's a sign of "ownership" marking to show they belong to each other. I had a cat that would not do it for almost 4 months before he felt comfortable rubbing his face on me. Wonderfully stinky brothers. Wish we could have know what they thought and someone honestly just needs to make a movie about em.

The friendship of these three was touching and the people who cared for these animals is impeccable. I would have liked to be the one who studied the mannerisms of them for those15 years. I could imagine that they had boundaries at first, but grew to share and respect one another. Sad for them, because animals have depression issues just like humans.

This is honestly, truly one of the most beautiful stories ever in this world. This just proves so much in animal behavior, that even the most deadliest of predators can become friends with anyone. And those 3 growing up together, being 3 separate species I wouldn’t doubt if they grew up making their own language together. They knew how to communicate and that’s why they were such best friends. I’m glad I saw this video.

I actually visited Noah's Ark a few years ago in my travels and saw these animals in person. They're an amazing little group. Sorry to hear that one of them has passed. I would also encourage anyone traveling through that area to visit the sanctuary. It's a huge and wonderful place and is run by donations only.

Some animals can regrow entire limbs, camouflage themselves, and even live forever (Turritopsis dohrnii is nearly immortal).. how many humans have dreamt of immortality and yet we're superior because 2% of our entire population is capable of intellectual genius? Even flying and breathing underwater are incredible biological features. Many species are superior in other ways. Saying we are superior is like saying Muhammad Ali was better than Michael Jordan, babe ruth, Wayne gretzky, Michael Phelps, bo jackson, usain bolt, and pelé. They have different talents so you can't say one is superior.

Saw them years ago at Noah's Ark. It is an experience I'll never forget. The same day a goat jumped out of an enclosure and I caught it and put it back, the owner came up to us on her golf cart and actually offered me a job there. I lived too far away to accept it though. That would have been such a dream job. I might have been able to actually pet these guys.
Just saw this what a unique trio "BLT" brought smile to my face followed by a tear the bear is sadly alone now... I suspect he's not going to be around much longer eather missing his buddies 🙁...Rest in peace "BLT"
