Anyone else think it's kinda dark that Mickey probably watched a world die just to get the the realm of darkness, instead of trying to save it?

Jonathan Robinson, it could have been any one the world's fading away during the aftermath of bbs, enchanted dominion for example.
Truthfully, it might've been that he arrived too late to save it, though that's it's own can of worms.

I really hate how Yensid brings up Sora in DDD as a failure. It's not like any of them knew Xehanort would attempt to de rail Sora mark of master and take Sora as a vessel. Especially considering how Yensid is the main one always saying how crafty Xehanort is. They really sold Sora out of the title of master over things that no one foresaw.

Mickey wanted to go back for aqua. He was very clearly shaken by anti-aqua, but couldn't save her earlier because it was far too risky with the organization chasing him and not wanting anyone else to suffer like aqua did.

I'm sorry, but how is Yen Sid NOT considered a villian at this point? Or at least an accidental one? Sure Xehanort is cunning, but how can an almighty Sorcerer AND ex-Keyblade wielder with the power to oversee the Worlds, possibly exist in this story, and yet everything still goes to shit? Twice? Things go screwy in BBS, but he mysteriously has no idea it's Xehanort until everyone's fucked? Especially after knowing both Xehabort and Eraqus for years?? Terranort turns Radiant Garden upside down, and Aqua wanders around lost in Darkness, but for the entire 10 years between BBS and KH1, he tells his only student to do nothing?? In KH1, Mickey didn't even leave his Castle until he suddenly realized the "stars were going out." You mean to tell me Yen Sid didn't know?! And isn't it just a little more than a coincidence that the clothes given to Sora by Yen Sid in DDD contained the Recusant Sigil, which is EXACTLY what Xehanort needed in order to track him down and kidnap him? THEN, after all that, Yen Sid has the nerve to fail Sora for being taken, which was HIS fault?? Now he has two more teens in desperate need of a Keyblade Master to train them, but instead of doing it himself, or at least taking one of them, he's throwing BOTH of them on Merlin? Yeah, say what you want, but I haven't seen a guy with motivations this confusing since the Master of Masters.

I wouldn't even be surprised if that were the case...Yeah, Yen Sid and the Master of Masters may be complete opposites personality-wise, but their authoritative, yet extremely passive way of dealing with horrible events is eerily similar. Everyone around them recognizes the danger of these situations and responds accordingly, but they both have this strange calmness as if everything's expected...all while continuing to give questionable and dire instruction. Hell, even Xehanort's emotionless younger self gives more of a shit about the future than they do. LOL

I hate Yen Sid. I was sat there playing KH3 and I was thinking why the fuck does Riku become master when he had done fuck all compared to Sora.

3DSDF If they didn't notice Palpatine who I assume was actively masking his presence I don't see why another Sith couldn't. I mean the Jedi also couldn't tell that Maul was the apprentice not the master so it seems their sight could not be trusted really. The whole point of seeing the Empire rise in the prequels was to show that the Jedi had become outdated and lost their way. They were too hung up on some traditions, but then allowed themselves to be used in war. The fact that they couldn't see Palpatine a high profile politician slowly changing the republic just shows how far they had fallen.

That's the thing about 2.8 in general. Everyone expected a bunch of answers , but it raised way more questions than answers. The biggest disappointment though is the movie, as we still have to rely on a mobile game for lore.

Why aren't we there already (besides additional medal events and cash-grabs, but hey, what are we going to do in the Union Cross expansion?
@@WilyGryphon 2 years later: KHUx is still full of fillers, and the characters(Ventus, Ephemer, Skuld, Brain, Lauriam) just discovered that they're in some sort of virtual reality Daybreak Town, and glitches and bugs(like any Assassins Creed game XD) and they suddenly connect to the world of "Wreck-It Ralph" and the people there know to be in a virtual reality of some sort...so we don't know shit about nothing bc like 3/4 of KHUx is a recap of the first mobile/browser game, in form of a dream, then it's the Player enjoying life with friends like hunting Heartless at the beach and being the errand-guy in every Disney World...and Re:Mind(DLC of KH3) should be released this winter!!! It's so fucked up!

The reason why she had Eraqus's keyblade is because she still had it after sealing Castle Oblivion. (Plus she inherited it from him due to: "If anything were to happen to me and The Land of Departure..." Which was also how she used that keyblade to form LOD into CO.) Plus with Terra... Do you even remember the Lingering Will? And more than one Kingdom Hearts... You mean you don't remember the one made through the door to darkness due to the Heartless in Kingdom Hearts 1 and this title, the man made (or nobody) one in Kingdom Hearts 2, and the REAL one in Birth By Sleep / X / and soon to be 3?
And why use her own when Eraqus's is just 100% BETTER in every way (except MAYBE design)?
Honestly, it confuses me that Sora never just keeps using the Oathkeeper at the start instead of downgrading when he obviously still has Kairi's lucky charm.
Sora actually never changes Keyblade canonically. It's why if you watch theater mode he uses default. The keychain thing is more of a gameplay mechanic.
I think it dstays defualt in Theater for simplicities sake, as there's no need to show him with different keychains equpped.
Besides, Oblivion's better! 1/2jk Oathkeeper and Oblivion, practically being two sides of the same coin, only canonically appear when Roxas dual wields in 358/2 Days and KH2.
That makes it so much WEIRDER to me, though. Roxas can canonically change his keyblades more or less on the fly (or did the one time to be a badass), why can't Sora?

The reason everyone else was able to get out of The Realm of Darkness was either A. They had outside help or B they resorted to using the powers of darkness itself to escape. It was explained in CoM that Sora's light was what brought Riku out of The Realm of Darkness the first time and Mickey was able to escape following Riku. Riku used to be able to freely travel between the realm of light and darkness when he turned into Xehanort's heartless but he can't anymore as was shown in the ending of KH2 when he tried and failed to get everyone out but Mickey said " You don't belong in the dark realm anymore, Riku" Ansem the Wise was able to escape the realm of darkness after Terranort and his other apprentices banished him after he submitted himself to the darkness while also likely losing his sanity in the process because of his clear only desire for revenge afterwards. And Sora and Riku where able to escape through the light that Kairi's letter created which made the door to light. Aqua had neither help from any existing force outside the realm of darkness nor was she willing to accept or embrace any of the powers of darkness because of her philosophy on the darkness. If your referring to when Ven and Terra's Keyblade's saved her one time from the Darksides that wasn't the same, it was more of their Keyblade's themselves saving her through what was left of both Terra's and Ven's wills but they themselves couldn't call Aqua back with their bond or light because they where both gone/comatose. And although I will admit Mickey never telling anyone especially Riku about Aqua was sort of a huge plot hole. It was likely because even after the events of KH1 the major threat of Xehanort was not yet over and he felt that the Organization needed to be handled first not to mention Riku and Mickey pretty much went their separate ways not long after CoM because of Riku going off with Diz and Namine. I do agree that 0.2 does ruin the events of Blanks Points UNLESS we consider Aqua forgot everything that happened during 0.2 because of the darkness getting to her like it was implied in Blank Points
Doesn't that mean mickey and anyone who know she's there can help her out of the darkness? I mean if they have to at least know the person even then mickey could help her out he interacted with her in BBS and should be able to help her out like everyone else has been in the past.
It's easy to say "help" but they have no knowledge of how to actually do it.

It's clear he's never read the Ansem reports or Ultimania's because he would know that Xehanort/Ansem named them Heartless, that Riku and Mickey were separated quickly after the closing of the door until they drifted to Castle Oblivion (an Inbetween World), and that Sora and Riku were in an Inbetween World leaning more towards darkness at the end of KHII.

Because Riku was already trapped in the Realm of Darkness thanks to Xehanort's Heartless/Ansem and Mickey too and since the door won't allow to pass a heart with light they just had to stay in there. Ohhh, it makes so much sense now!
Now that I think of it Yen Sid could've put Kairi and Lea in the realm of dreams to train for a while, like seriously look at how skilled Sora and Riku got training and traveling in there

Goofy may know the phrase "May your heart be your guiding key" from subconsciously remember hearing it when he, Donald and Mickey somehow time traveled to the time period of Kingdom Hearts Unchained Chi.
Unlikely, as Ephemer mentions that the Disney worlds are projections. That means even Mickey, Donald and Goofy are probably not real in that game.

Brian Beatty But that doesn't make sense. Kingdom Hearts Unchained Chi takes place before the Keyblade War which from my knowledge be at least 100 years away from the current events of the games meaning it doesn't make sense chronologically speaking.

Well every KH intro i just a recap of what happend in the previous games, so Aqua fighting Venitas while Ventus was fighting Vanitas in their heart and Aqua fighting Terranort in Radiant Garden. The only "new" scene would be Aqua being saved by Sora, which doesn't even happen and is probably incorrect since she is gonna be saved by Riku and Mickey.
But...She transformed her keyblade into the glider and sent Terranort up to the realm of light with it, hence why it's in the Room of Sleeping or whichever in the extra KHII scene. And she nabbed Eraqus's keyblade when she went to the Land of Departure to turn it into Castle Oblivion.
Also: The Destiny Islands scene looks like it did in the first boss fight against Ansem (Seeker of Darkness), daytime and all
Imo I dont think this story invalidades blank points. Mickey only tells Aqua he's working with Sora and Riku, and when they get to the door he says they need Riku. It's not far fetched to assume Aqua thought RIKU was the keybearer that would close the Door on the other side, not Sora. Sora could just be tagging along. She's not there to see Sora on the other side or know that Mickey worked with HIM to seal the door, and that Riku just helped him close it. She only finds out that Sora is a hero and wielder in his own right in Blank Points, making it STILL impactful for her that Sora ended up a wielder even without someone bequeathing a keyblade on to him. A more accurate sin is "how does Mickey know Sora and Riku are wielders / how is he working with them? he just tells donald and goofy to find a key-bearer. How does he know its them? Did Terra tell him? How since they never met? Aqua didnt tell him till now."
Also, I feel like people always miss the fact that Mickey literally didnt know that Aqua was in the RoD before this point. He didnt see her fall to darkness when she fought Terranort. And honestly, even if he DID, she'd still be as good as gone for him. Before, paths to that realm were extremely rare and unstable, as Mickey himself points out (he could only sneak in by being in the realm once it fell to darkness). He knew that Aqua had hidden Ventus and he looked for her and Terra, before giving up. Like he literally gave up being a wielder at the end of BBS, Yen Sid was the one who convinced him to remain one. No matter how much others blame Mickey I feel like he blames himself more. After that (and the appearance of the card heavily implies the Organization helped Riku out of the RoD, that Mickey had just learned how to make a portal with his keyblade of darkness, and that Ansem TW had managed to control the darkness to open a portal. Aqua had no help like Riku did and she would not fall to darkness in order to control it and make a path out), Yen Sid was the one to tell Mickey not to save her, and instead focused on the Organization's work, so really I blame him and his tunnel vision far more than Mickey.
Most details here can be explained too, like no one being in the BBS worlds because they were consumed by darkness. Worlds fall to the RoD, people have their hearts consumed and become heartless, etc. Idk, some inconsistencies in the other videos can easily be chalked up to humor but it feels like you really didnt like this game. It actually feels like youre angry at it, and thats not as fun. I hope the humor comes back for the KH3 one, which is the only one missing in my binge.

the reason why sora got the keyblade is directly linked to riku. because Terra did the keyblade inheritance ceremony on riku, the kingdom key went to riku once the world began to fall to darkness. however, riku fell into darkness himself, so the keyblade naturally passed on to the next best thing; sora. he had vens heart in him after all
Ventus' heart didn't have anything to do with Sora getting Kingdom Key. The reason Sora got Kingdom Key was because he touched Riku's light while wading into his darkness to reach him, which caused the Kingdom Key to transfer over to him.

Let me explain. Prior to this cutscene, Naminé told Terra as the Lingering Will that there is a girl stuck in the Realm of Darkness and needs Terra's guidance so she won't fall into the darkness. That girl is Aqua. That's why Terra can be seen by Aqua, even though he is still the Lingering Will in the Keyblade Graveyard.

Well, it's not too surprising they would agree to keep this a secret from the kids until they are ready/trained. You can't underestimate the RoD. Shit Org13 members have to wear special robes to protect themselves from it and it's their main form of travel. On BBS you used armor and in KH1&2 Sora uses a special gummi ship. Riku is a special case. In KH1 Maleficient deemed it foolish that he passed through the darkness without proper protection. The important thing is he made it though; he survived. And having been there more than once and living to talk about it could have been the perfect reasoning (to Riku) to find his way back in if he knew Aqua were there. Let's not forget some of the shit Aqua has fought in the RoD as well. It ain't all peaches and creme. More lethal things may lurk in there (which may be revealed in KH3). Personally, in Mickey's or Master Do-Nothing-Birds-Eye-View's shoes, I would probably keep her a secret from the kids as well until the time was right.

At 16:23, mentioning about Riku's corridors of darkness, he actually CAN'T control them anymore at this point, because back in KH2, after the death of DiZ(Real Ansem) while destroying the moon heart on the Castle in The World That Never Was, Riku pulled away the blindfold and robe that hid his powers of darkness from Ansem, The Heartless. Thus, at the final battle after closing the door to Kingdom Hearts, when he tried to use a corridor of darkness to help the team get back home, it wouldn't come up, in which Mickey explained, "You don't belong in the dark realm anymore, Riku". So, the darkness still has the ability to tempt Riku, but he, himself, can't use them anymore...or at least not the corridors.
However! The many different ways the team was able to escape the Realm of Darkness in the previous games would've been a viable option. It's really not that impossible as Yen Sid states, so I completely agree with you there. It all pretty much comes down to:
Riku: "Why couldn't we save her THEN?!"
Yen Sid and Mickey: "Because plot."
Riku and Kairi: *:|*
Destiny Islands, honestly, should not have been involved in this particular game, thus would've kept Aqua from bringing up Sora and Riku, having Mickey ask about them, and then Mickey telling Aqua about them, thus ruining the emotional power of Blank Points in BBS. See, here's what could've been done:
- Destiny Islands isn't involved.
- Mickey DOESN'T tell Aqua about Sora or Riku
- Aqua and Mickey find the Kingdom Key of Darkness in the deepest parts of Dark World, not Destiny Islands.
- Have the KKOD teleport them to the door to Kingdom Hearts (since Mickey is wielding it with one purpose in mind).
- Have them notice Riku running to the door and Aqua exclaiming that she knows that boy, and Mickey quickly explains who he is, leaving Sora out of the picture.
- Aqua and Mickey team up with KH1's Riku to defeat the demon tower one more time in that specific area (instead of in Destiny Islands),
- When Riku and Mickey need to get to the door, have Aqua say, "GO! I'll be fine! Do what you have to do and don't look back!"
- THEN have Aqua get forced out of the area via the demon tower, either via a dark portal that the demon tower uses, or some other means
- The final scene of her meeting with Ansem like in BBS would then work.
- Sure, it would involve Aqua's possible inclusion to KH2 via Riku's memories and all the KH's afterward up to BBS:0.2, but at least it would all stay consistent and no continuity would be involved, at least from my take on it.

To be fair, both times that Riku was in the realm of darkness he had outside help. In CoM in was DiZ and in KHII it was Kairi (and her letter, which still makes no sense to me, but I am chocking it up to "Princess of light powers that will never be explained unless they use KH Union for something new"). So its still fair to say that you can't get from the inside out without help. Plus even if Aqua stuck with Mickey and Riku, again they are stuck, only beings of Darkness would have been able to go through the door to darkness. Riku, Mickey and Aqua wouldnt be able to pass, neither would have Sora, Donald or Goofy to the other side to help.
Prof.Sableye it would be less infuriating if mickey had told Riku about aqua after closing the door and went looking for her. but no hes gotta be this mysterious dick bag that won't tell anybody anything despite his friends souls being on the line and the existence of the universe riding on retrieving aqua.
also nobody involved in all of this seems to be asking the very important question of how Sora and Riku got out of the realm to darkness? put the "waking up worlds" power on hold for a second and get to the bottom of that one because if kairi or Sora can just make doors in and out of the realm to darkness that's freakin broken.
Oh, by the way, I noticed something that may infuriate you, Charrii xD The point of Re:Coded was for Mickey to learn that the Seasalt Trio and the Wayfinder Trio were tied to Sora, and I agree with you that Re:Coded is complete boosh and Mickey should have known it before. But the point is that Re:Coded takes place one year AFTER 0.2, and Aqua tells Mickey clearly that he met Sora and Riku, meaning: MICKEY ALREADY KNEW IT EVEN IF WE DON'T TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE INFORMATION FROM DATA-NAMINÉ.

I think I understand what's going on in this scene. Terranort wants to talk to Aqua, so he goes to the Realm of Darkness, where he finds her. However, he knows that Aqua will refuse to talk to him if he appears as he is, coming in white hair and golden eyes blazing. So he disguises himself as Terra, and then proceeds to pretend that he really is Terra. But at some point, due to either his stamina failing or the real Terra's interference, the illusion breaks and that's the moment we see as him "losing control". After that, the real Terra summons up the strength to appear and restrain Terranort. Does that help?

With Mickey and Riku coming out of the realm of darkness in Castle Oblivion shortly after Sora, Donald, and Goofy arrived there, and we know that Castle Oblivion is a world that sits on the line between the two realms of light and dark. I figure that Sora's heart called out and guided Riku, while Donald and Goofy's did the same for Micky. And as for Mickey not telling anyone about Aqua in the following year, you have to admit that year was rather busy and filled with a lot of shit that he might have felt took precedent. Now knowing that Terra's heart made up Ansom, seeker of darkness' Guardian, and Ven's heart still asleep and healing within Sora's heart Aqua didn't have a light to call out and guide her from the realm of darkness.

He only gets up like once or twice before he's back to sitting in that chair that's what Yen Sid does.

Riku can't use the corridor of darkness anymore. When Riku is transformed back to normal in KH2, he attempts to use the corridor of darkness and fails, that explains why Naminie got everyone to the Destiny Islands.
Yeah Yen Sid was in wrong for that one. Sora clearly had a huge odd against him with the whole organization after him. Honestly it was only to show the Riku though possessed by darkness prior could over come and become a hero of light. Which means KH3 is when Sora learns to get these "powers" that was suppose to be from the exam, by himself which means he becomes the strongest Keyblade wielder without having that dumb title of "Keyblade Master" and everyone gives him the power to have send that final blow to Xenhnort THEN he is deemed a key blade master.
