I don't know very many impressive songs on guitar, but this one ALWAYS gets people. Playing the bassline and then the guitar at the solo and past is just awesome
There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting It isnt always about "technical" proficiency but also how the line serves the song. Too many people get caught up in virtuosity (I did when I was younger) but now I prefer a complete song, the impression it leaves, and the "feeling." Why is this so amazing
+Edward Vlaanderen its alright its not mind blowing rock I'm not into the hype either
+damn rite I think it's the bassline and the electric guitar moment near the end that does all the success of the song
+Joey Dennis zepplin, the cult, nirvana, thats epic thats just mediocre rock
+damn rite I dont think it's mediocre keeping up that bass line for this long ;p
Because it is muse
We need a 10 hour version of 2:26 - 3:06
@@camillosteuss it's definitely amazing, but "any" song? Nah
I cry listening that
Actually we need a 10 hour version of whole song
i'm currently practicing this on guitar, so i can put it into my looper pedal and just put it on repeat..
Best melody of all time..
masterpiece. one of the greatest song I ever heard 👏👏
After some years when I come back here. Still giving me the same feeling, chilling, and want me to sing the lyric again 😂😂
As a bassist all I gotta say is HOLY FUCK is this song a workout xD
It's fun as hell to play though
Haha yeah
True ahahah
Never listened to the Who then ? 😳
As another bassist it sure fucking is almost made my fingers bleed.
My Most Favorite Song from Muse!
May 2024
Mine too 🌟
May 2024...who else still listening to this ?
meee
Mee
A song worth hearing live. I went to see Muse on 3-03-2023 and those guys didn't disappoint, they came out with banger after banger.
THIS ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
@@NakhiaCooperнапишите о чем она. Я из России. Музыка отличная. А вот о чем поют
I saw them live in 2017, they almost got rained out. But came back like a half hour before the venue was supposed to close and still gave us a 2 hour show that was one of the best ive ever been to
Same in Spain! I was running out of battery, suffering because I couldn't film every single fucking moment. 😅
One of my life goals is to catch them live.
Don' t worry. You 're not the only one listening this masterpiece today... Kahhh..🤣🤣
I cant express myself how this is the best song
this is arguably the best song to show some people the importance of bass. i especially love the beginning, remarkable bass line.
Are there really bass deniers out there? Is that a thing?
@@upscaleshackunfortinutely yes as a guitar player i have seen a lot of people saying that bass isnt important but the truth is without bass there is no soul to a song
@@upscaleshack absolutely yes! as a guitar player who recently got a bass, it is CRIMINAL how often bass guitar is ignored or almost mixed out in a lot of music. early Metallica is a prime example of how it could've been EVEN better..if only they did not almost remove all the bass guitar tone from the mixes..
I love this bass line so much. It’s why I started learning bass guitar a few years ago. Thanks to it, I got accepted into music school :D
Nice!!!
That's awesome!
Amazing, congratulation !
Congrats bro
Hi I recommend a song that's Called 'the bond villain' by Robert Nix
Seeing them yesterday was a Epic moment in my Life. This song live feels amazing
Where did you watched them? I watched in Santander on Tuesday
My turtle listened to this... He is now Donatello
I played this on my basement. Now it's a BASSment...
Why am I laughing?
@@alexberube5269 ı asked the same shit to myself
Thanks man, this made me laugh. And I’m learning to play the bass line now.
@@justinkline1294 Hey, try checking Davie504's 100 awesome basslines video and search for hysteria. It helped me a lot to understand the bassline and i learnt very fast, you should give it a shot too ;)
SLAP LIKE NOW OR I CALL THE POLICE
It's bugging me
Grating me
And twisting me around
Yeah I'm endlessly
Caving in
And turning inside out
'Cause I want it now
I want it now
Give me your heart and your soul
And I'm breaking out
I'm breaking out
Last chance to lose control
Yeah it's holding me
Morphing me
And forcing me to strive
To be endlessly
Caving in
And dreaming I'm alive
'Cause I want it now
I want it now
Give me your heart and your soul
I'm not breaking down
I'm breaking out
Lace chance to lose control
And I want you now
I want you now
I feel my heart implode
And I'm breaking out
Escaping now
Feeling my faith erode
Thanks

Thank you !!!
June 2023 still listening this marvelous masterpiece. Eargasm for sure!!!
2024 and this song still driving me crazy...
Is Muse a drug?? Because I want it now!
+Eric Hughes It's one of my undisclosed desires
+Eric Hughes I've had so much Muse recently that some kind of madness has started to evolve.
However, still feeling good
+Bartholomeefamily This drug will probably turns me into a psycho
Vittorio Bosello :O starset
That was the favorite songs of my uncle that passed away last year, crying everytime I hear it but makes me feel like he’s always there
I love the insane bass line!
*Before Hysteria*
“I’m a bassist”
*After Hysteria*
“I’m not a bassist”
Ps: I can play this song dudes.
Underrated comment!!!!
For real!!!!!!
Listen les claypool... He's bass lines are impossible
The song itself ain't dat hard to play, it's actually pretty straightforward, however Chris really is a genious bass player for coming up with it.....
This isn't hard
This song makes me want to play Wii tennis without a safety strap.
this song makes me want to play bass without a safety strap
@@WhiskeyTape ahah :D
@Huntero whaat?
I did that and threw the wiimote so hard it exploded my tv
It makes me want to play with the strap instead
11 march 2024, still listening this masterpiece✨
🎉
back in the day, when you can master this bassline then you are the coolest kid in school.
I don't know very many impressive songs on guitar, but this one ALWAYS gets people. Playing the bassline and then the guitar at the solo and past is just awesome
czcams.com/video/k2V2RzJmTMU/video.html
I can and always do the same with my Bass VI! That's why I love it
There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting Try Chris Squire Heart of the Sunrise, or Close to the Edge by Yesm
@@Nothing2Interesting It isnt always about "technical" proficiency but also how the line serves the song. Too many people get caught up in virtuosity (I did when I was younger) but now I prefer a complete song, the impression it leaves, and the "feeling." This song leaves an impression more than any Rush song ever did.
Every bassist asks one question when they learn someone else plays bass too: "Can you play Hysteria"?
Or "Can you play Anesthesia?"
Or "Can you play Teen Town?"
Or "Can you play YYZ?"
Depends on which genre they like I suppose
@@Danc929 YYZ is probably harder, don't you think? I guess hysteria is just complete endurance and YYZ is fast and technical
@@brendanboozer3802 yeah, hysteria is the same 3 lines for the most part outside the chorus, the 3 I mentioned are all complex with a bunch of different sections
@@Danc929 yyz very difficulty
Yes and the answer "it's hard" 😂
Thanks, fornite. for letting me find this banger
For shizzle. Sometimes they randomly pump out extreme bangers that aren't well known. The doods at epic do have good taste.
Muse only makes bangers (atleast in their first 4 albums). Listen to more of them, you won't be disappointed. I recommend you Stockholm Syndrome, from the same album.
Hey you, yes you. Random person that I will Never meet. I Truly hope that you will find Happiness in life, Today is going to be great day.. Peace, Love, Respect..!
Happy 10th birthday, Hysteria single!
es verdad! una década tiene uno de los mejores sencillos de muse.
it's been 10 years already ?:O
Yup. 1 December 2003.
Since birth I am completely deaf on the right side of my ear. Now I have only 70% hearing on the other ear and a low frequency hearing loss. Now I am 30 and after 15 years I am wearing a hearing aid again. Since everything under 500hz has very little db. Now I listen to muse for years and I had to cry when I perceived the first time properly the bass etc.. I get tingles every time. It's like listening to you again for the first time. ❤
now I'm 30 and love you more then ever before 🥰
So sorry to hear of your hearing problems. I am also disabled, in other parts of my body though, but I am believing for a miracle. I think if we pray consistently and do not doubt we will be healed. Just say I am healed! I have noticed when I do this my body responds I feel something moving in me and I hear sounds moving around in my stomach. I pray you will be healed as well! God Bless!
1st time hearing this song and it’s badass
2024 anyone🫡

Learning this song on bass gave me the worst blisters that I've had in a long time. Totally worth it though :)
+Sam Gould Why did it give you blisters? I've played it a bit on bass (that riff is killer on bass), but I'm far better on guitar. Love playing it though (but it doesn't give me blisters).
Vykk Draygo I push down hard on my string when I play and it causes me to get blisters sometimes
Well... um, don't push so hard! ;)
I had to break myself of that, since guitar strings are relatively light. It's really easy to bend a note without meaning to if you press to hard. :)
+Sam Gould Forget the blisters... you actually menaged to learn this shit?!
+Mitar Zecevic Just keep on playing it slow to begin with, i had a really hard time doing it but I've finally got it now!
I have listened to this song like 1000000 times in 2 days. Damn, love the bass and drums... Fu**ing song damn you.
+Marcos Murdoch dat bass
agreeee💕
+Bianca Dusk :^) hello there, Bianca

i remember when this song came out i was in junior highschool and also have a band & i'm a bassist.
other members decided we will play this song in school festival. my reaction was 'OH SHIT!'
When i first started playing, i heard this about a month after. I got it down eventully but it took some calloused fingers.
Doesn't your band know how hard the song is to learn
It's difficult. But not THAT difficult. I mean, I started to try it this morning and i've got It half way (I have one month plyaing bass)
@@user-bk6pt1oq1e Either you've been a guitarist for a while first, or you're only playing it at 50% speed, or you're missing out the open strings between each note - or you're making it up.
If not - that's pretty awesome, put up a vid?
@@davidscothern8513 No, i think i'm messing it up more that i was thinking 😅, and never played guitar, but i'm planing to make some cover when i improve my level. I think in one or two weeks more i will have it done 👍
Muse is in Malaysia now, Muse ROCKS!! 🎉!!
One of my best songs in fortnite festival 🔥
Phenomenal song. An all time classic. Never get bored of hearing this one.
Moreover, the guy's acting in this video is good. Really brings out the rage, paranoia and fury.
😍😍😍😍
I'm not sure I understand what's going on in this video actually - he's angry at himself for stalking the girl?
@@JBUHJBUH Without trying to sound pretentious... it's sort of a parallel for the human experience and wanting something so badly that you'd do almost anything to have it, and once you have it it's not what you expected. Your whole reason for being and existing has just been proven pointless, and meaningless. The rage felt when your soul has been ripped out by the fact that all you've been working for, all that you've focused on being is a complete lie. It makes you question all you've ever known, all you've ever felt. It makes you wonder who was in on the conspiracy of selling you that lie, convincing you that you would be complete and fulfilled once you have what you've been told your heart desires.
@@JBUHJBUH He's angry that he doesn't have her. He starts smashing shit when she's not answering his calls and he watches when he hit her and she left. "I want it now, Give me your heart and your soul." "I want you now"

the first 10 seconds are some of the sexiest tunes I've ever heard.
The intro always got me amped up
