Lesson: if you need your alone time, just turn your freaking phone off. You won't need to lie or make excuses. Simple.
I understand that most ppl in the comments are focus on the fact that the story shows the dangers of lying. But I appreciate it for another fact, how her words caused so much pain, hurt and eventually her death. For me it was more about be careful of the things we say. Especially about ourselves.

Worked with a guy in a grocery store years ago around 2008 he needed two days off to go to this concert or something but didn't have any sick or vacation time, called Ted our manager the day of event said his dad had wrecked and needed to go see him in hospital, well it worked then about a month later his dad really did get into a bad car wreck and almost died. That always stayed with me.
Poor Erica had to learn the consequences of lying the hard way.

This is something different and I love it. Usually most of them involved ghosts or monsters but this one, involved one girl who basically killed herself from her constant lying.

This is a wonderful take on the "Be careful what you wish for" trope
And this is why we should never lie, unless it’s to avoid hurting someone’s feelings.
I think this short movie can be interpreted in different ways. For example, I had no idea people would think was about the dangers of lying : I thought it was about not feeling guilty over having some "me" time where one would eat sugary things and watch dumb TV shows. No one should be ashamed of not eating veggies whilst in a diet, just like no one should feel guilty preferring chilling alone after a long day over having someone come over (no matter how much we love them)

This was a great video but damn all that just to watch netflix 😣😣 the greatest lesson ive learned in life is to just be honest with not only myself but others. If youre surrounded by good people then they'll understand and support you, possibly help you find remedies if its notbthe best situation. If i dont want tk hang out im honest and say sorry, i just dont feel up to it tonight. If I messed up my diet im honest and i tell people that i was on a diet but i messed up this time, im going to try a different method but for now this just didn't work out. Being honest has made my life so much easier!!

This is crazy to me because I just cut off a ‘friend’ named Erica bcuz she loved lying and even admitted that lying was just fun and easier for her and has been lying about pointless things from a very early age…honesty is always the best policy. The truth will set you free.
