I got spooled by something BIG off there earlier this year. Ran me for 300 yards of 90lb braid, full drag and gripping the spool. What ever it was, huge and there was no stopping it at all. Half expected a submarine to pop up 😂 As for wrasse, try lure fishing for them using a small soft plastic worm, had a few decent ones recently
I'm with you John, it's a really beautiful place to just hang out and chill. Catching a fish would be nice, but really it would just be a bonus. Thanks for sharing! 👍 Just be careful! BTW....I usually call it quits whenever I see a seal where I'm fishing. They usually scare whatever fish there is in the area. No skunk today! lol
Top marks for determination but that's honest fishing ...you set my heart racing when you sped the camera up ...at first I thought you'd tripped and was heading over the side !!
Nice video John 👍 That was me the other week in Kent . Was the only fish of the day, We was also trying fo for wrasse that day. Beautiful spot though makes it all worth while getting out. Looking forward to the next session. All the best and tight lines ⭐️🎣🖖
Used to fish there frequently, but during the winter months, its chucks up some decent Cod. Further to your left, there is a cave/cove with a small shingle beach, decent for the bass fishing close in on the lures or peeler crab 🦀.
When fishing for big wrasse try having the rod in hand. Feel for the bite as you know to they are quick and are easily missed when on the rest. Great video 🐟🎣
Great video johno made me laugh lol even though you only got a tiny rock fish after all that getting down to a fishing Mark all the best from Paul from Staffordshire 🇬🇧 ps should really gone there with a friend just incase something went wrong again all the best Paul 👍
Good effort, I fished that mark when I was a kid, ( about 40 years ago) a mates dad took us, at night in the middle of winter , it was blowing a howler and the waves were crashing up the rocks , it was terrifying, I’ve never been there again, that one time put me off for life 😂😂👍🤠
Great video my friend, some you win some you lose. All about being out there having ago One thing,on marks like that please think about a life jacket and even a vhs hand held radio
It's dogfish city there, the three of us caught about 20 each in about an hour. There a comfortable platform a bit further along that puts you directly over Deep water.
Used to fish there regularly around 15 years ago when younger and braver. Caught Pollack up to 5lb float fishing ragworm and sand eel. Once right under my float a few feet from the cliff face saw a shark at least 12 feet long. In them days there wasn't mobiles to take a photo. To this day not sure what it was as wasn't shaped like a Baskin shark.
Are you on the Great Orme John? It's worth a look at where you are from a boat. There's a massive cave somewhere underneath you.We go out of Conway and fish off the Great orme.
John when fishing a rock edge like that for your own sake and that of your family you need to wear a self inflating life jacket. I lost a friend on Anglesey because he wasnt. Accidents Do happen, all you have to do is catch a toe, turn your ankle and you're over.
Cheers buddy it’s definitely something I’ll be looking into, I’m very cautious when fishing and was sceptical about fishing here that day, I think I’ll have a look online for a decent inflatable now - cheers pal
7:10 if a fish takes you into a snag like that don't pull for the break straight away. Instead give it some slack so the fish doesn't feel the pressure on the hook and it may just swim out and release itself from the snag. Lets the slack out and give it five mins or so. Often times the fish will regain confidence and swim out.
@@GAMEKEEPERJOHN Good to know it's closed off, I won't be visiting there anytime soon then lol. Stick to my usual Anglesey venues. Did you check out the link I sent you to the St Marys Mark on the Straights?

Don't forget to wear your bicycle helmet as well if you travel there on your bike.
If you want a wrasse go to trearddur bay in front of the flag pole with rag as bait 20mts out and you will get a bite a cast. Tight lines.
Keep trying fella you'll get there! Fishing is so easy with some no how! I fish as easy as you shoot the widgie!🏴☠️👍
Mate it is a scary climb pigeons fished it once never again and it was full of seals last year

The mark called Pigeon Holes is further to your left.
It's a lot closer to the sea and even more comfortable.
It’s all closed off for the seals buddy that was were I was intending to go lol
