I am old enough to remember driving route 66 in the early 1960s on family trips stopping at many roadside attractions. I used to collect roadmaps when I was a kid and remember that roadmap vending machine

I appreciate you checking out the Boots Court Motel on my behalf. Sometimes I watch and add the place immediately to my places to visit list and then other times I watch and think, "I don't think I could turn around in that bathroom!" The car museum definitely got added to the list.

JD, I love these towns that celebrate their history and that of their veterans especially! I come from an Ohio town that is currently in political turmoil over our sewers, and have regularly visited places that have banners of their veterans and murals of their past all over the place. I live in the wrong town! The Museum you visited was a find. Always love the cars and vintage hotels. I am anticipating further postings of places in New Mexico and Arizona that we recently visited. I'll be looking for what we missed for any return trip.

My sweet lover and I traveled Route 66 in 2017, and following your great videos are such a great 'flashback' for both of us. For us it was the same as what we are gleaning from what you have shared, it's the people and places along the way that make it so special. We too tried to stay at historic motels, and eat at 'Mom & Pop' places, and most of all soak up the history of a by-gone time. Thank you for taking this trip and sharing it with us. *U* Kathleen

That 1910 Maxwell was made one block away from where I live in New Castle Indiana. After a fire destroyed the plant in New York, they built a brand new mammoth factory here in New Castle. It was huge! Only a corner set of bricks remain though. Chrysler took over the plant during most of the 20th century. Until the original was demolished in 2004.

I loved the part where you saw one of the world's largest rocking chairs. Geez, that's just insane!! The fact that you went to that car museum and history museum as well as that huge candy store, totally unreal. I really learned a lot from that guy about cars - more than I thought I would since I don't know a whole lot. My mind is just blown at the fact that you just don't drive an old as heck car once you buy it since you never know what's going to happen afterwards - that's the lesson I learned after that 6 - car pile-up story. OMG, the fact that you're staying at the Boots Hotel, now that's just unbelievable. Talk about staying at a hotel with an understandable history. All of this aside, I hope all is well at the GMOH and GMOH annex!! I hope that one day you guys will have an exhibit or more on the Vietnam War just like that museum you went to in this video because that would be awesome. Thanks for making this video and doing this series because it's really awesome so far since I'm learning a lot about this famous road!! Love this channel!!

This was a great car museum! I enjoyed seeing all those beautiful cars. Wow... The Horst auto used during the Third Reich, I had to go grab my husband so he could come see it because of its historical significance, and because...we have a small Audi. ;) We've been fans of your WWII history vlogs since I found your videos a few years ago. Thank you so much for sharing your trip and all of these fun places on Route 66! The hotel was so Art Deco!!! I guess I didn't realize how old "neon" was.
I did think that as you get out more west, I hope you get to see the two tall arrows sticking out of the ground. I forget exactly where they are but it they are cool. Plus, if you get to Cabazon, California, stop at the two giant dinosaurs! Totally fun stop with kids. :) There's an old railroad car there with a McDonald's restaurant inside and a few other little shops there. Hadley's date milkshakes are historic (and very tasty!) and can also be found there at Cabazon. One day when you get up to South Dakota, there are more dinosaurs (smaller) at a park out near Mt. Rushmore. Looking forward to your next videos, thank you!! 🚙💕
