My dad is owner of Cars of the Mother Road in Williams. I can't believe you went to his shop, met him, and featured it in this video! What a small world. Love your content. Keep up the good work, Mav!
that is awesome
🧢
@S M gotta bring race into it
@S M yeah..
@S M :/
It is noticed that you treat everyone with respect and kindness. You’re a good man!
U think someone would post of them doing rude things?
@@johnnyc0811 yes? Have you watched what's on the internet in the past 10 years...?
@@Jacob0481 The answer is YES. Ever heard of (shady) influencers, who's got mostly kids watching them?
It’s a Minnesota thing .
@@Jacob0481 yes they do… tons of them..
I did the Route 66 in 1966. Starting from Toronto Canada, finishing in LA. Where I caught a ship home to New Zealand after two years, my Oversea experience living and working in Canada . An Amazing and very memorable journey. Kiwi from Virginia.
There’s nothing like a solo cross country road trip. It should be on everyone’s bucket list.
“It says no skateboarding, not trucks”
That is some Saul Goodman logic right there!
dude what a legend that guy is for saying that haha!
I love how no matter where Mav goes or what he's doing, he's always got such a positive vibe. Dude could be shipwrecked in Antarctica and would still think it's fun.
its youtube, everything look cool and good on youtube. after days of editing. it must be nice being so rich
That's what happens when you live your daily life in Duluth Minnesota. Go in any direction and Everything's awesome 😆
@@Dualities right!
Take daddy's money away half way through the trip in the middle of nowhere in the mid west with towns 2 hours apart, with a flat tire and see how happy the little twat is now!
Don't worrie, he will be a CEO before he is 30.
@@Dualities Or add a brand new word to your vocabulary ✨“try”✨ 👁👄👁
@@Dualities you sound jealous. Why are you watching? It must suck being such a negative miserable person.
Did Route 66 in 2016 with my dad his best pal and his son, best holiday ever.
When I was stationed in 29 Palms we used to drive that exact stretch of route 66 passed Roy's Cafe to head to Vegas on the weekends, great memories.
I been binge watching your entire channel man, things addicting
What was your fav episode
ikr
I see your comments everywhere
I got my eye on you Mr. Stacks
Im jelly, i wish i could discover mavs channel again haha
Mav living more in 5 days than I've lived in 35 years. This channel really makes you reevaulate how you live your life. Keep it up man.
Don’t comment about how little you’ve done and go out and do it!
I drove across Canada in a Ford ranger in February once. That was pretty crazy. Ended up ditching the truck and coming back by train where I met a girl. We hit it off and hooked up on the train. Good times.
@@deadhouse3889 after the “I met girl” part I was expecting marriage, kids, yada yada hahaha but that works too!
@@AK-yx3uu Nope, we screwed around a few more times when she was on the east coast but never went steady. I was 26 and she was 19, neither of us were looking to settle down at the time. We were both having too much fun doing being single I guess.
@@deadhouse3889 nothing wrong with that 👌
So humbling to see Mav’s success yet him be so genuine man keep on trucking bud!
I’ve followed you for the longest time possible but anytime watch your video again gives me the motivation to drive across the country again. I drive all the way from California to Illinois twice. I feel the frustration of being alone on the empty road but trust me, rather than having someone eventually disappear from your life after the trip renders the whole
memories meaningless. Love your video as always my friend.
Its nice to see someone comfortable being on their own and having so much fun all by himself. Alot of people think they have to bring a friend or lover with them in order to have fun. Shows you dont need anybody or any plans to have a good time and enjoy life.
I rode Route 66 with a friend over the summer, and definitely wanna try it again by myself, given I was the one most interested in the history of the road. Has tons of benefits to have a pal, but I can’t say which is better until I’ve done both
Agreed, I spent years trying to enjoy my own company because I figured if I did not how could I enjoy others and not be a burden on them? I think I was right being I enjoy doing things alone but it is not an easy lesson especially at the beginning..
Yeah if you call daddy's safty net and a camera crew to document your drive "alone"🤣.
Shit after reading this I will have to do something like this by self.
@@baconstrips6260 What camera crew lol
The hat you ended up buying is a perfect fit to your personality and the long hair makes it look awesome
Absolutely amazing. I am going to do this trip now. I drive 3k-4K miles easily in my road trips around Europe. This looks awesome 👏
Great story telling and editing too
I didnt mean to hit the dislike button haha, hit it by accident but I meant to hit the like button, mistake fixed haha. My bad man. Hope you enjoy the drive.
Really enjoyed this video after a ten hour shift with minimum wage.
Relaxed me

I appreciate the fact that you are polite and respectful to everyone, and I love your adventures!
So we're the Nazi's but they were still evil!
So i appreciate you acting like a human being
I agree, but imagine hes not like that and he'd put him being an asshole to people in his own video LOL
I'm a little old lady in Canada and I've just seen my best auto camping trip yet and I've been watching these for years. Such an inspiring fellow! So glad Mav took us along on Route 66. Dang - I've just added this route to my bucket list!
Good luck miss :)
This is such a great comment! Ma'am you have to take us with you on your trip through route 66 pleeeeeease
Mav I just stumbled upon your videos and it is so refreshing to see how genuinely kind and thoughtful you are when creating your videos. I don't normally subscribe to this type of channel but I am loving it so far and look forward to binging your content! Amazing job buddy!!
Getting ready to start my own Route 66 drive but I'll be taking a few weeks to drive it. Thanks for taking us along on your trip.
It really made me happy seeing you ask the lady about the history of the motel I bet she loved it and made her day - even small conversation can brighten up anyone
So many people started doing road/cooking trips on CZcams but this is by far my most favourite channel to watch. Way to go Mav. Keep ‘em coming bro 😎
I'm addicted to your channel! Keep your vlogs coming Mav! It's great watching you along the way! ✨💯🌟
Nobody comes close to Mav. They try. But nope.
So many people like you Jerry are tossing Marv's salard but you by far are the most desperate, go on, reach around!
@@pacificblu9662 You lov watching men!
He is so refreshing. Funny. Respectful. Curious. Energetic. Keep brushing those pearly whites and making these videos!!!
It was fun to see places I've been to in my past, and see a lot of new places I've never seen before.
Thanks so much for this video! Enjoyed watching all the interesting stops, the food, people you met. Always wondered what the Rte 66 road trip would be like. Thanks for taking us on this journey with you!
The old lady at 26:10 seems really sweet.🥺 Their short conversation was simply warm & adorable.💙
Trust me my man, he was there for a solid hour....once you start....you can't leave
Seemed wholesome ASF though, that was really awesome
“It says no skateboarding, not no trucks”
- Quote from a true G😤🤣
After growing up in Vegas and living in LA for 20 years, the new beginning of the trail at Santa Monica Pier is very appropriate. A lot of of us are traveling the eastbound route. PS: I had a add this after I saw what I saw you do in Joplin ... Legendary.
You've done more in this trip than most ppl done in their lives.
Enjoy everything you're doing. Everyday live it to the fullest n ENJOY! Keep truckin homie!
Oh wow that "I hope you're having a good day today" was the most wholesome thing I've seen all day
"it says no skateboarding, not trucks" 🤣 that guy knows his way around the law.
Great story teller about your adventure, that is great of being single
😂
And now they will remake the sign 😂
Something about Mav in a car and sleeping on roads that just drifts me to sleep. Love this so much!
Just found your channel. Big fan already and I’ve been going back and watching your adventures. Not only do I enjoy what you do, but you have the best attitude and personality for the job.
I love how that dude just straight up shot his hat in the middle of town. No cares in the world and with a single action army as well. That is a place I want to visit now.
And he's a Southpaw...
Safe travels my friend! You are the man Mav!!
With my sisters in their 70s and me pushing that number as well, I'm convinced now we aren't going to be able to make the Rt 66 Trip. I am so glad I got to see part of it through ur eyes and video. Thanks for sharing.
Such a fun trip to take. Everyone should do it. The giant whale has to be experienced in person.
27:15 that’s not the famous lookout point for Devil’s Elbow. But scary story, when I stopped on the actual bridge, 2 tornados suddenly dropped out of sky and touched down for about 30 seconds and then disintegrated. It was so fascinating, made the view and the memory so much more impactful! Made it a very devilish experience.
Yess bro you are right.
Love how u made the 2500 mile adventure into 30 minutes !!!!!
I came here to see if he’s been through Tulsa before I watched the actual video. :(
Why? Why does everything have to be fast? I'd rather have watched it in installments....Route 66 is FASCINATING and there is so so much to see! Slow the f down, man! Smell the roses and stuff.
Mav, Dude! You and Murry tore it up. He's a tough dude. It's a great experience for you both. But it's so freaking cold! Totally enjoyed this video and you know how to rough it and have fun too. Thanks for taking us along. BTW, I have to laugh at that signal light that says, " WAIT WAIT, "
Mav brother, love it man!! can tell your momma raised ya right, got proper manners! always thankin people for shit thats just awesome man! spread them positive vibes!!
"You ever see anyone do that before" is probably the best way I've ever heard someone passively say I'm sorry
Lmao you DEFENTLY had a little 5 second accent there! 🤣
Best part of traveling is stumbling across new adventures! 💗
Best Ending to a vlog EVER!!!!!!💋
several years ago my Volvo quit in Gallup NM.... wonderful few days on route 66. Loved the light, loved our native American and it was so relaxing.
Thank you for sharing. The video on the set up of a hot air balloon was good stuff.
Keep On Trucking 👍
This will go down as one of Mav's best episodes. Loved it! Watching his videos always makes me feel a more positive outlook on life. Thanks for being such a good dude Mav!
This was, without a doubt, the most entertaining video I have watched in a long time!! What a trip!
We took trips from California to Okla back in the early 60s all on route 66 . Loved those trips.
So many awesome experiences!! Thanks for filming and sharing!!
When I was about 8, I took a road trip from PA to AZ and passed through a decent amount of Route 66. We stopped for all the ridiculous things we could fin, and you visited a lot of the same things. 10 years later, now, it’s crazy to see my favorite vlogger visit the same places. Keep on trucking :)
I’ve passed through amboy a lot and it was amazing seeing him pass through it too. I went to Las Vegas in July and we passed by it then and during December we went to Utah and we passed by it then. I love road trips and to look out the window and seeing the landscape.
im about to wing it from PA to AZ cause I cant find work here in pa..... Hopefully I like Arizona and hopefully the heat treats me well.
this channel is a proof that anyone can be happy alone
So glad you stopped here in Tulsa on your travels!! I love following you on your adventures. Safe travels friend.
Enjoyed this video! You randomly showed up on recommended page and im glad i watched it! Super positive vibes!
What an awesome video. Such good vibes
ayyy Justin!
All the folks you met along the way on Route 66 were super nice especially where you got the cool hat from Buck at "Cars of the Mother Road" and Ramona at the Munger Moss Motel in St. Louis, MO. She was so sweet! Love the fact, you're so kind and respectful to everyone you meet from all your travels. I appreciate you and your handsome blue eyes. Stay safe Mav.
Love this trip on Route 66 you took. A couple of times we have taken part of Route 66 from CA on south to Sedona, AZ and always stop at Oatman, AZ (donkeys in the streets of this small interesting town) as well as Seligman, AZ which is the iconic Route 66 town. It has much Route 66 memorabelia large and small as well as the historic Route 66 vibe. We met barber Angel Delgadillo there who was key in having Route 66 dedicated as an historic highway.
Loved that you stopped by my hometown of Williams, AZ ❤️
Can we all appreciate the fact that this fella never disappointed us with his content 🤗 🤗 🤗
He drove it backwards and ignored every opportunity to find history but he did find every magnet everyone was selling I like his videos but really hate Route 66 videos done by people who think it’s just a drive and not how people looked for opportunity

When I was ten, my family moved from Northern I'll, to Anaheim, Ca. This was in1954, before Disneyland. We would go back to I'll, every other year on 66. I'll never forget, my mom and six kids. Indian themed motels, mom and pop food stands. Those we're the days! When on our third summer trip, my mom grew sick in Lawrence , Kan. I was 16 and drove the rest of the way to Hampshire, I'll.. My older bro and sis (16,17) didn't drive yet, so lucky me! We would do the trip in three days out and back to have enough time visiting. My Pom would plane back for the week than fly back to ,cal to work, obviously to help pay for great summer vacation for us all. Thanks, MOM , and Dad.
NIce to see someone with respect for this country ! Well done ! I enjoyed your video immensely !
On my bucket list!! Thanks for the ride!!
I’ve seen a couple of CZcamsrs do this, but yours was the most fun. Thanks. Your smile is looking pearly white in the last couple of videos! Gotta love that. Smile!
Mav, that's the way to make memories you can tell your kids when you get married. I used to live in NYC moved to the seacoast of NH in 1982. My ex and I split in 1995, I was just 42 then (I'm 68 now), I drove to Sedona AZ from NH lived in my car for 18 months. I went back 7 times to NH & NYC drove all across America in the south, eat food in New Orleans, St Louis & went up into the Arch there was so cool. went to Roswell, NM stopped at the ranch where the "UFO" crashed landed. saw a lot of strange things at night there and out in the National Forest. Enjoy it while you can. but Gas was cheaper then & I was driving a 1989 Dodge Omni my dad gave me for $1.00 (it was my two sisters who used it for college on Long Island, NY) I got it it had about 92,000 miles on it and it was well kept. when I got rid of it it had over 205,000 miles on it I was getting 34MPG highway. I got the car in 1994, Gas was about .969/gal when I started in 1995 & $1.20/gal in 2002. I traded it in and got a 1997 Dodge Caravan with 23,000 miles on it. Peace Love Light...
This is such a cool story I hope I one day get to tell a story similar to this
@S M stfu bro making it about race times change anyone can do it if they want to
Lifelong NYC resident. Have family on long island too. My brother in law's father moved to Sedona about 10 years ago. They just came back from there a few weeks ago.
He is so young.
That’s an awesome story! What did you do for work to have that kinda time off?
Wow lucky you. And you took me along. I did go to St. Lewis. The arch was amazing to go up. Thank you Mav!
Thanks for taking us with, Mav! I've always wanted to drive Route 66 but time hasn't allowed.
You are a fun guy!💯👍🥰
I drove portions of it years ago. I drove from Cleveland area to Tucson in 2 days. Didn't get to stop much, but did make sure to see the scenery as much as possible
I say this everytime I watch you, you're SUCH a humble kind soul, I hope God continues to bless you bc you absolutely deserve it. You radiate good vibes ☺🤙🏼
Glad to see you spreading the MN nice everywhere you go.
Been watching a ton of his videos for the past week and man one thing is for sure, Mav can freak up some food, clean plate club member for sure

I am so happy that you were able to do this at such a young age. I am 58 now and have always wanted to. I still plan on it and your video really motivated me to get it done! Thanks Mav for this and all your content on your channel!
Excellent video, my little pony!!! I’m proud of you. You show people love and they respond accordingly. Just keep on truckin, a very popular phrase in the 70’s when I was in high school. Y’all know the logo with a man stepping forward with one leg and the bottom of his shoe is the focal point. Saw it on a lot of t-shirts. It was cool and so are you. Sending love from the Northwoods of Florida.
I did California to Virginia last month in a little under 3 days solo. Had a full load in the back so had to sleep in the drivers seat for a few hours here and there. Now you make me wanna try the trip with a proper camper setup
Yayyyyyyeee drive safe bud☺ and have fun!
Also thought it worth mentioning: thank you for providing us content. It truly brightens my day and gives me so much inspiration to be kinder to every human around me and also appreciate everything I see. I found myself saying hello to quite a beautiful tree yesterday... felt strange but also right ✅ haha thanks mav☺
This is awesome, nice work as usual! Fun fact: the Pixar gang stopped along multiple Route 66 towns (including my own) to gather info and inspiration for the first "Cars" film. So some of the places you stopped at, like the Wigwam Motel, made it into the movie. So many cool stories along that road, thanks for sharing with us!
Yeah, and the cars stuck in the ground were the inspiration for the rock formations that can be found in the Cars movie too!
To bad their decision was on wasted potential. Cars was a great story ruined by the concept.
Just now stumbling on this video. My grandparents live in Williams! lovely little place.
I didn't know about your channel in November, but you literally drove by my current house in Springfield, MO and my previous house in Waynesville, MO! Awesome trip. I hope to do the same someday.
This is the ultimate compilation of Mav recording himself getting in and out of the truck... and I'm here for it haha
Mav, my wife and I have been watching your channel for quite a while and finally got around to subscribing today. Your show on Route 66 was quite entertaining! I didn't think you could do it in 5 days and still stop and have fun along the way (loved the zipline!), but you somehow did. Your show just keeps getting better. Two thumbs up!
this is great! I took route 80 from SoCal to South Bend Indiana. I passed bt same states you did but different stops. You're right, great trip indeed! :)
What a GREAT trip!!! My fiancé and I watched this video and definitely makes us want to travel it!!!
I remember Route 66 when a friend and I road tripped from Racine WI to Eugene OR, sort of like this where we stopped at sites just to say we were there including, The Badlands in SD, MT. Rushmore, then once we left Eugene we went south on US 1/Pacific Coast highway through the redwoods over both the SF bridge and Oakland Bridge. Then on to LA where we visited Venice Beach and Griffith Park and on the way back we took route 66 until Joplin and no bs, my guys tranny overheated and we were stuck and standing on a corner in Winslow AZ which was not a fine site to see lol...
We stayed at the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook!! The rooms are super comfy and totally vintage, with old original furniture and wall art. The people who run it are super nice, too.

So cool to see my hometown Joplin Mo in this vid and Galena KS since they are right next door. Enjoyed this video!!! Keep on trucking.
Now you just need a Paramotor🪂 to get that epic video footage along the way. And for flying fun of course 🙂 thanks for sharing 🍻👊🏻🤙
I live and worked in Arizona my whole life and have drove past all the things you’ve visited 100s of times without stopping. Just goes to show you how we can take things for granted.
Orrr you’re just not into tourist traps. Give yourself some credit.
I understand that you had to do it fast this time, but I'd love to see you do it again, stopping everywhere and going in the VW camper, reversed and end up back in CA.
You make it feel like we’re there w you! Thank you, i love your content already!! 😎😎

Trivia on Route 66. A song called "Get Your Kicks On Route 66" about Route 66 was written by Bobby Troup. Bobby Troup who played Dr. Joe Early on the TV show Emergency back in the 70's. Bobby Troup wife Julie London was also on Emergency who played Nurse Dixie McCall.
