Friend of a Friend is incredible. 70's Beatles era Thom Yorke
This album blew me away. Friend of a friend and Bending Hectic are the top of the top.
Been listening to those two gems non stop.
@@robovac3557 I was on Spotify trying to decide if I wanted to listen to a podcast or not while working, and I got so lucky my first song was Bending Hectic just going in blind, and it nearly floored me 😂
Bending Hectic is such a great song that I think some are missing out on it because of its complexity.
Teleharmonic is weird fishes for this decade
teleharmonic gets me way more pumped
Teleharmonic, Read the Room and Friend of a Froemd are my initial favourites.
I thought that about I QUIT but I returned to it and it is soooo beautiful and does have progression and has become a favourite for me.
Also, albums always have fast and slow music/songs on them. It’d be pretty boring if they were all the same tempo or sound !
I disagree that the drums are poppy, they are more subtle though, and more jazz than the debut. It’s also a shame you think I Quit is a miss, that’s my favourite.
I can definitely see why I Quit works for other people, especially if you enjoy Johnny Greenwoods string arrangements. On repeated listens, it has grown a little bit, but it's just not one I'd really return to.
@@humanreviewsstuff The things I like about it are all the psychedelic layers which are rather unique for a Thom Yorke project. The shuddering reverbed low drums, the starry synth pads that come in at 0:41 for example, and the chopped up little sample placed through the outro.
I quit is one of my faves, I skip Bending Hectic and go to the last song which I also love.

Great review
I Quit was the most underwhelming song at first for me too. After many listens it is the track that has grown on me the most. It’s has such a seductive atmosphere that flowers with listens. But often the Radiohead related songs that underwhelm grow the most. It’s one of their major qualities. They don’t get boring, only grow and flourish.
Yeah, with repeated listens, the song has grown a little bit. I still wouldn't return to it much, but I definitely see it as a much more essential piece of the album than when I first heard it.
Album of the year easy
While I don't think it'll be my #1 of the year, it's most likely gonna be landing in my top 5, possibly growing to top 3 with repeated listens.
Friend of a Friend, Bending Hectic are radiohead tier
