    I don't hear anybody saying this: If Iran telegraphed their attack ahead of time, then their intentions were not to cause a terrible attack. It looks like the Iranians showed significant restraint and all they were after is respect. And as for Israel, they are talking about how successful their countermeasures were, but what would have happened if Iran didn't telegraph their intentions? If Israel retaliates again, we may find out.

      @ollielon5926 Před 14 dny +9

      @@LizardFrosty I'm not sure I quite understand what you are trying to say since your writing is not so clear (no offense). But if I understand you correctly, you are insinuating that what happened to Iran's embassy was a result of them funding groups that encircle and pose an existential threat to Israel. I'm not going to go into details concerning the full extent of Iran's ACTUAL control (or lack thereof) of such groups but for the sake of argument, let's say that Iran completely funds and controls these groups. It would mean that Iran is engaged in a proxy war with Israel. Israel TOO, is engaged in a proxy war with Iran. Not only that, but Israel has allies and the US that protect it as well. They too engage in proxy wars.
      The point of a proxy war is to prevent a full blown escalation. So if one engages in a direct attack, they are the ones escalating the situation. Israel was the first to attack Iran (they bombed their embassy and killed some of their top military officials). Now here is the intelligence of Iran: they know that they HAVE to retaliate because if they don't, it's going to send a message to Israel that they can attack directly and nothing will happen. However, if they engage in a full-blown retaliation, it'll lead to a regional war and possibly WW3 (or nuclear war in that region). So what is Iran to do? They did the best thing under these conditions: they attacked Israel but in such a way that it wouldn't actually pose an existential threat to Israel. It sent the message to the world that Israel cannot be allowed to get away with breaking international law. It also sent a message to Israel and the US that they have the power to overwhelm their defenses. And it also sent a message to the world that the sane one here is Iran, that they do not want war, and the only ones trigger happy are Israel and the US.

The last OIC meeting in Iran was in 1997 so a meeting in Iran is long overdue .
      All sides must abide by UN resolutions calling for a cease-fire . All sides must agree on a roadmap to a viable 2 state solution . Any escalation by Israel is unacceptable

    In case anyone was wondering (like me):
    According to the Federation of American Scientists, a ballistic missile is one that has a ballistic trajectory over most of its flight path. What that means is that once the missile burns up the fuel that propels it, the missile keeps moving, the same way that a bullet does after it's been fired out of a gun. Once the fuel is gone, the missile's direction can't be altered. It follows a path determined by the speed of its launch and the force of gravity trying to pull it back toward the Earth's surface. Eventually, gravity guides the missile - and its payload, which might be an explosive, a chemical or biological weapon, or a nuclear device - down toward its target.
    Ballistic missiles are different than cruise missiles. Cruise missiles are self-propelled for the majority of their time in the air, flying in a relatively straight line and at lower altitudes thanks to a rocket propellant. Think of a ballistic missile's flight path as a large arc up and back down again, while that of a cruise missile - fired from a warship, for instance - is closer to a straight line.

  • @jmc2204

    In strict military perspective, this was a disaster for Israel. Inspite of intercept success rate, enough got through that would be concerning to Israel! The hard facts are that, Iran did not use hypersonic missiles, Israel and allies were well informed ahead of time of the strike and its extent which may not be available next time, and Yes, the war was fought above Israeli heads (air Space) not Iranian! Intercept rate is just away for Israel to save their face. Another way to look at it is that, enough missiles got through that the Iranians could wipe out or significantly degrade Israel's ability to wage a counter offensive in just one phase if they scale the offensive enough or involve hypersonic missiles!!!!!!
    Israeli's know this, so does America! This indeed is America's leverage over Israel's behavior. Israel can not count on America to avenge on their behalf if Iranians wipe out Israel's ability for a counter offensive in the above scenario. Bibi has to think twice before engaging in an escalation!!!

Can he not admit that the cost in hardware to America ,Britain etc had been great for a very low input cost to Iran. How much has it cost the West ,and still some damage has been done to Israeli bases , just a trial run for Iran, and next time ,if they have to will deplete the defenses even more , ie wear down the capacity of the collective west ,attritional tactics like the Russians have been very successful in Ukraine. What ever chance Ukraine had of getting extra military hardware from any NATO Country up until now ,that chance is gone ,and the more that Israel provokes Iran, what little military hardware is left will quickly be redirected to the middle east. Unless the collective west introduce Nuclear weapons to various conflicts ,all Russia, Iran, N Korea ,and China has to do is continue to bleed the west ,demilitarize the west .Time is not on the side of The West.
