I can’t believe that Diplo has been allowed to pursue young and underage black women for over a decade in the public spotlight without ANY repercussions. After hearing Quen Blackwell’s story about how Diplo groomed her a few years ago and seeing the underwhelming media response, I always hoped that she was the only victim. Unfortunately, for every story that reaches the surface, there’s always more that will never reach the light of day. Shelly is so brave for sharing her story and ignoring the scare tactics from lawyers and gaslighting from a famous multi-millionaire.
Diplo is still procuring young black/biracial girls. Its an open secret at my job. He a DJ’s there and the young biracial girl was very much willing to be his tool. The young girl even got sassy with me when I mistake her for a fan and delegated her to go sit where Diplo’s meet/greet fan were sitting. He has a proclivity for very young black girls. He’ll never stop. It’s so sad.

Her friends encouraged her and she went against her own instincts. That’s what stood out to me and broke my heart. Listen to your instincts ladies, gentlemen and my non binary friends. It sounds like Shelly is wise beyond her years. She’s a beautiful, intelligent young lady who is standing up for herself against someone who holds a lot of power within the music industry and she should be proud of herself.
It takes courage to fight against someone like him. I honestly hadn’t paid any attention to him before. I’d heard the name but couldn’t have told you what he did for a living within the music industry.

I remember when this stuff came out. I was a massive fan of Diplo, but as soon as I read more about this story it instantly changed my opinion on him. He gives me the freaking creeps now.

The grooming, the manipulation and the toxicity that she had to go through all those years. And not just from Diplo, but her friends as well... This is so sad.
But the difference is that the manipulation from her friends comes from ignorance and the yearning for the approval of older and/or famous people. While Diplo's is just a game to him, to f*ck as many GIRLS (not women) as possible.
Also, the fact that she NEVER wanted to be with him, and because of all the manipulation she went through, she had to get herself drunk in order to be capable of loosing her virginity to him. (and he went along with it: not only by being with a much younger and obviously uncomfortable girl with him, but also seeing her intoxicated.
Don’t forget that her friends were just as naive and young, don’t blame them for their innocence, when it was a man who was taking complete advantage of the fact that these were young, innocent young people who hadn’t experienced life yet. Put the blame in the right place and with the right person!

The fact there are no repercussions for Diplo is horrible. There are several women who have made it clear Diplo has been inappropriate with them. It's unfair and just completely wrong.

I got invited to a diplo show when I barely knew who he was. I was 19 I think , it was around 2008 or 2009. I just liked to dance and the girls from my college class only invited me for free so I would provide weed . The floor crowd was too much for me and his booth wasn’t on the stage , so I simply went to the stage to dance with more space . His security told me I could stay on the stage if I “didn’t stop dancing “
The next day I found super close up photos of me on his MySpace it was weird , so many photos

I have a friend who has slept with him multiple times. Lots of drugs, free flights and obviously sex is involved. In this case it seems consensual but it is also a huge abuse of power and not to mention the age gap.. he seems to pray on vulnerable, confused girls and women and it's fucking gross..

That is something that needs to be talked about more, the guilt you can feel when the person is a predator is real, it took being in therapy and actively cultivating a relationship with GOD. To realize emotions will have you doing things that put you in dangerous situations that your brain knows isn't safe.
Also being drunk does NOT make it better, that literally classifies it as rape. You cannot fully consent under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If one person is sober and the other isn’t, that’s a major imbalance of power. If both aren’t sober it’s just more difficult due to the influences…

These celebrities do crazy shit. When I was 13 I actually seen drake and one of his friends on an online video chat group (Omegle)and he convinced me show my boobs. I’ve aways felt like it was my fault because I knew better 😂 but I was a kid and he was aware I was under age. I told him I was 17. Now as an adult I couldn’t imagine talking to a teen that way I’m only 27
