Learner driver Mitra fails driving test for stopping at green light but thinks she has no mistakes.
Mitra takes a mock driving test to understand what her main driving faults are. In this driving test, she makes eight serious driving faults. Mitra thinks she only made a driving fault on the reverse parallel parking manoeuvre and that her general driving was okay.

If an examiner grabs the steering, in most cases it is an instant fail (so it's a serious fault).
If examiner/ instructor intervenes with the wheel. It's an instant fail.
The whole point of the test is for the examiner to see whether you can drive safely on the road independently.

TelevisedChaos they could’ve grabbed it because they assumed something dangerous was about to happen But the driver suprisingly had control over it
Also if the examiner has to use the dual controls (brake/clutch) it's an instant fail. This is how I failed my first test by hesitating then causing a potentially dangerous situation. Now I can look back and see my lack of understanding caused me to make such a dangerous mistake.

I think an interpreter would really help her to understand, i can’t imagine how difficult it must be when your first language isn’t English and majority of countries drive the opposite side of the road… hopefully she’s passed now.
Wow, so many good people have gathered here to look at this woman and laugh at her mistakes. I guess, it helps you to feel more successful, isn't it? :) I feel sorry for her, because learning to drive it's not easy at all. And it's even twice harder for her - not only because English is not her primary language, but the instructor speaks with an accent as well.
Daiva Daivute the instructor speaks with an accent of the country . If you move to another country it’s your responsibility to learn the language to an extent that you can understand driving laws if learning to drive period. Otherwise she endangers those around her. And not everyone is meant to drive. It’s a skill. And if I was a nervous driver it didn’t understand then I’d take as many classes it takes for me to drive safely and confidently.

Sadly this is more a fault of the driving school she studied at, and the general acceptance level in the UK. The UK allows the handbrake as a sort of a crutch to lean on in clutch control, where you can avoid stalling the car due to poor clutch and gas control. And many people use it when coming to a halt, or in uphills.
My issue with this crutch is that it does not really teach them proper pedal control, and the risk of stalling when at low speeds is that much higher because they don't really grasp the sweet spot area. Not to mention is slows their flow to follow traffic because they have to go through their mental checklist and then do the handbrake, rather than applying just a little more force on the gas to get going again.
But as said, it's a personal issue for me, as in my country we are not allowed to use the handbrake clutch for those reasons, and learn clutch control instead for safety/competence.
In my opinion she should drive automatic, or get back to basics with getting familiar with gear shifting, as evident by how she did not recognize the stick was in 3rd rather than neutral and trying to go from 3rd into reverse.
I never even got taught to use the handbrake apart from when I was parking at the end of each lesson 😂 and now I only ever use it if I'm in traffic on a hill

I do not mean to put anyone down. But imo this is the most dangerous type of driver. Someone who makes mistakes and does not realize is dangerous. How is her English? The reason i ask is maybe she is not understanding if she is being told in English and it is not her first language. Maybe a translator would help her understand. She seems to be able to control the car well apart from some slight issues with the steering but again maybe she does not understand what she has been told 100%

She needs to find a new regular instructor. The fact she was put in for a test despite not seeming to understand many of the basic rules of the road is pretty scary and imo irresponsible of her instructor (assuming she's taking lessons with an instructor who agreed to her having a test, obviously).
I agree. I was thinking tbe same thing. If she has an instructor, why would he put her in for the test when she is obviously not ready for it? Then she fails but doesnt know why she fails. Its ridiculous

I passed my test only on the third time, made a serious fault on each test, but getting the feedback about my faults was really useful to me as I'm very careful now not to make those same mistakes again.

That's very rude for any teacher to do that. I wouldn't say having a great feat of willpower is the right term rather he is patient, understanding and informative instructor which is required for the job.

I am always optimistic and supportive to learner drivers no matter how bad at driving they are, because I believe that they can and will get better with practice and patience. It may take a very long time, but it will all be worth it at the end. No one learning to drive starts out perfect or lacking any errors during practice. Guaranteed everyone has made a mistake at least once. If anyone says otherwise, they are lying.
All the best to all those learning to drive. You can do it. This is coming from someone who has passed and drives regularly.

I failed my test exam 3 times(not from the UK so the road is opposite for me).. silly mistakes, failed one test due to other driver tho and other two I was just out of the world stressing that I messed something up(I always stress when I see instructors writing something lol) slowly losing hope of ever passing, but I honestly think I'm a good driver. And my next exam is due next week, If I fail, don't know if i will try the fifth time ;(

This mock test was like a hell for her. She wasn't comfortable at all and she looks so scared. But she just needs more lessons, more practicing. It's her instructor's fault who sent her to a mock test when she's not ready yet to that. My instructor won't send me to do my test till he knows that I'm really good. What's the point to do it when your not ready.

As someone who got their drivers license from a 10 minute basic as hell driving test in the US I would die trying to ever drive in the UK this shit is so complicated
