  • Ancient Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela in Ethiopia form part of a world famous UNESCO world heritage site. There are 11 medieval monolithic cave churches at this 13th-century religious site, which is to this day still a place of pilgrimage and devotion and of great significance to the Ethiopian Christian community. The Churches of Lalibela are perhaps one of the most wondrous sights in Africa.
We filmed this video while working on a book called African Icons. We stayed at The Mountain View Hotel in Lalibela and our trip was arranged and guided by Vast Ethiopia Tours.
