More like cans and bottles exploding along with sealed packages expanding. You can't work out in your mind that a country with major power grid outages will have all kinds of flammable explosive containers for sale for cooking, heating, light etc etc. like propane stove oil, kerosine etc. etc. Many of those would explode when heated especially with a fire at extremely high heat.
