Businessman - Movie Synopsis
The commissioner of Mumbai arrests the last don of the country and declares that the era of Mumbai underworld has ended. At this juncture Surya (Protagonist) enters Mumbai with an aim of becoming the biggest don ever. He stays in his friend Aslam’s room. Aslam keeps on explaining to Surya about the hardships of surviving in the raw and rustic city of Mumbai, let alone becoming a don. Surya shoos away Aslam’s fear.
In the process of making his dreams come true Surya meets Chitra, who is the daughter of the commissioner. He confuses her in the first go and makes her bewitched by his wit.
One day in Dharavi slum, bankers forcefully hurl away all the items from the defaulters’ homes for the nonpayment of the bank dues. Surya makes a promise to them that he makes the slum debt-free within two weeks.
Surya meets an ex-minister, Paresh and impresses him with his smartness and guts. Paresh connects to Surya instantly and feels confident about his abilities. He refers to Surya for the first time as ‘Bhai’.
Surya keeps his promise and makes the slum debt-free. He becomes a demi-god for Dharavi people. All the slum-dwellers get ready to do anything for Surya.
Surya who is considered as a Bhai for many of his people depicts himself as a passionate lover before Chitra. He impresses her in such a way that she is left with no other choice but to love him.
Chitra gets totally obsessed with Surya. By this time the commissioner learns that his daughter is in love with Surya. Commissioner orders an inquiry about Surya and his background.
In an upcoming Mayor election Surya’s candidate gets nominated against central minister Chidambaram’s candidate. A bunch of goons sent by Chidambaram attack Surya. He knocks them down.
At this point Chitra calls Surya and says that she is in trouble and seeks his help.
Later it is revealed that it’s the Commissioner’s plan to trap Surya.
Chitra learns that Surya loved her just for the sake of his business and gets enraged. Chitra with anguish and hatred scolds Surya that he cheated on her by pretending love. Surya with tears in his eyes affirms her that he began impressing her for the sake of business but now he truly loves her. She doesn’t believe him.
Surya gets arrested.
Paresh puts all his efforts to get Surya released. But his attempts fail. The commissioner tries to put all the possible cases against Surya to file a strong FIR. But the commissioner’s attempts become in vain as his daughter gets kidnapped by Surya’s gang. Now he is left with no other choice but to leave Surya.
Surya meets Chitra who is in the confinement of his men. She is full of fury and rage against him. Surya boards her in his car to drop her at home. While on the journey he explains to her how deeply he loves her. Again she doesn’t believe him.
The moment they arrive at the commissioner’s home, hundreds of policemen surround the car, but Surya steps out of the car daringly and says to the commissioner that he is deeply in love with Chitra and he would withdraw from all his activities if he agrees for his marriage with her.
The commissioner doesn’t agree for this. Then Surya responds in a challenging way that he will marry Chitra by establishing himself as the new age Bhai beyond and against the whole system.
From this point to succeed in his love how Surya reaches the pinnacle of success and attains his dominion over the country and finally how he wins Chitra’s heart is the crux of the story.

Thanku so much sir, naku teliyadu ela synopsis untai ani. Nenu oka story rasanu, aa movie 1st 10 minutes 10 pages lo rasi director ki pampudam anukunna. If the director is impressed remaining story chepudam ani naa plan. Anta namakam naa story meda. But naku oka dout if we send the full story synopsis and if director understands the full story and writes the same story in his version and register the story. Than what to do and if my story is not registered ,can we fight with the synopsis.

I have a question on this synopsis AJ bro..
Somewhere I read we shud write treatment of a story which includes main plot, main scenes, inciting incidents etc.(Same thing u mentioned to include in Synopsis) and then send it across to producers or whoever stakeholders.. If that is the case, then do u think 'treatment' & 'synopsis' are same when it comes to terminology or they differ..If they differ please explain how they differ?

Thank you for the video. It's indeed a great help. My question is, in couple of my stories someone is narrating the story to the other one. Like in life of pi, Nuvve nuvve etc. You also told that we should never use past tense in the synopsis. Could you help me in this?
Then you can mention that in the first para Rohit! and u can continue with the rest of story as any regular synopsis, do this only when you feel that the third person narration is one of the USP elements for your story, otherwise u can proceed as any other regular synopsis even if it narrated by a third person. I am giving below the wiki summary for both the movies:
1. Life of Pi:
In Canada, a young writer meets Pi Patel. The writer has been told that Pi's life story would be a good subject for a book. Pi tells the writer the following story about his life:
Pi's father names him Piscine Molitor Patel after the swimming pool in France. In secondary school in Pondicherry, he adopts the name "Pi" (the Greek letter, π) to avoid the sound-alike nickname "Pissing Patel". He is raised in a Hindu family, but at 12 years old, is introduced to Christianity and then Islam, and decides to follow all three religions as he "just wants to love God". His mother supports his desire to grow, but his rationalist father tries to secularize him. Pi's family owns a zoo, and Pi takes interest in the animals, especially a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. After Pi gets dangerously close to Richard Parker, his father forces him to witness the tiger killing a goat.
When Pi is 16, his father announces that they must move to Canada, where he intends to settle and sell the animals. The family books passage with the animals on a Japanese freighter. During a storm, the ship founders while Pi is on deck. He tries to find his family, but a crewman throws him into a lifeboat. A freed zebra jumps onto the boat with him, breaking its leg. The ship sinks into the Mariana Trench drowning his family. Pi briefly sees what appears to be a survivor, but it turns out to be Richard Parker.

2. Nuvve Nuvve:
Anjali is the daughter of a millionaire Vishwanath who loves his daughter very much. So much that he even buys her an Icecream Parlor when his daughter asks him for an ice cream. What Vishwanath expects is a son-in-law who will never oppose him in any matter. Rishi hails from a middle-class family. His father owns a department store. He is a kind and happy-go-lucky guy. Anjali happens to join the college in which Rishi is a senior. Soon, they fall in love with each other. On one occasion, Rishi takes Anjali to Mumbai for dinner. Anjali tries to shake off the issue with her father, saying that she was with one of her friends. But unfortunately, Vishwanath calls that friend up when Anjali was missing. He tells him that Anjali went to Mumbai with someone called Rishi.

Hi Chaitanya, Any movie can be written in 1 or 2 pages, irrespective of its narrative style or genre. you have to keep writing synopses for various movies to get a hold on this craft. Also go through some online examples of movies that are in your genre or just go through the plot summary of those movies in Wikipedia, you will get some momentum. Happy Writing. - AJ

10 to 15 pages would be a mini treatment for the story. When I am saying 100 to 150 pages I am talking about the entire screenplay. - AJ
The letter is written by Blaise Pascal not Shaw.
The French statement appeared in a letter in a collection called “Lettres Provinciales” in the year 1657.

Pascal’s notion was quite memorable, and it was discussed in a French book about language. That work was translated and published in London in 1676 as “The Art of Speaking”.
After Pascal many has used this notion in their own language. For say : Locke, William Cowper, Benjamin Franklin, Thoreau. For a surprise Cicero had used it long back before Pascal.
But people think it was pascal because Mckee quoted him saying : Pascal once wrote a long, drawn out letter to a friend, then apologized in the postscript that he didn’t have time to write a short one. Like Pascal, writers learn that economy is key, that brevity takes time, that excellence means perseverance.
