      Same reason I'm here. Do you think I could do this with a whole rose and a ribbon that says Daddy? I don't want to ruin the ribbon if it doesn't work. I was thinking it'd be cool to have it in like a rectangular prism shape.

    Just a warning about the blow torch. We used resin and catalyst (casting fiberglass type resin)and the blowtorch caused this flammable material to catch on fire.

    Sheri, please use Nitrile gloves. Resin can go through latex and plastic gloves. Only NITRILE gloves are a barrier to resin.

    Hi! Great video!
    Do you push down the flowers after putting them in the first layer of resin? How can I pop bubbles with the flowers in the first layer? The heat gun won't make the flowers move?

    Hello. I have a few questions:
    1. Can we use hairdryer instead of blowtorch/heat gun?
    2. Must the flowers be dried, or we can also use fresh ones?

    This came out beautifully...just wanted to confirm..did u wait for 24hrs to put the second layer of resin on flowers or this was done in one go...volume was not clear

      @@alyssaruminski6776 yes i did! as long you pour it in really slowly or wait for even a lil bit so that the first layer dries a little, it's fine. but again, really slow

    How do you get it to keep from looking separate the résumé use? There is a definite line between the first part and the second what do you find is the best resin to avoid that and I’ve had a lot of problems with some resins.

      I use them as drink coasters, when it's dried it's just hard plastic so you can do what you want with it

      RachelM as long as you use a resin that is UV safe it will be fine.

    Where can I get the resin liquid from? Also are these molds separate then the silicon cupcake molds or can we use the same ones?
    Can this be used as coasters for hot cups and pots?

      I wouldn't recommend using it for anything hot or it can reactivate the resin making it turn back to goo or liquid.

    Beautiful flower coasters! how do yo clean your silicone mold? i have a mold just like that, but when i used it a couple of times the silicone rubber got stuck in the sides of the coasters and it was hard to take out of the mold. what do you think was the problem? did you also experience the same issue ?

    Can you just gently push the items into the resin with a wooden stick/toothpick instead of another layer?

      The flowers would rise if added to one layer only, so by doing another layer, it ensures that the flowers stay in the centre and don’t move.

    I use a silicone mold too but the back kf mine keep turning out foggy and i don't know why 😔
    EDIT: GUYS I FOUND A SOLUTION
    You just have to make another batch of resin and coat it and it makes the fog from the silicone go away

    I have a dead rose I was looking to put in resin, I don’t think I would be able to flatten in due to it being dead and it would just crumple. Would keeping it in full rose shape work?

      I’m so curious about this. It is very humid where I live so if I leave the flowers partially exposed for 24 hours I’m worried they will get damp and be ruined !

    If you are making layers, does the first layer need to fully cure before adding the next? On my first layer I want to put dried flowers down, then add glitter to the resin for a second layer

      PatienceWearingThinX the torch is to pop air bubbles not to dry the resin. The resin drys by it’s self

      You have to make sure the flowers dried 100%, microwave also helps.

      Spraying with acrylic over flowers completely dry will also help prevent bubbles

    I has 4 blue LARKSPUR flowers. Out of them 3 flowers turned yellowish when I embedded them in resin. I used a hairspray to seal the flowers. Is there any way to stop this from happening. We are making huge losses please help us.

      Those push button style torches are available from Lowe's or Home Depot. You can find a good variety of sizes available in the plumbing section since plumbers use them to heat flux and solder while sealing copper pipe threads.

      It's best to use flowers that are dry. There's another video here in youtube showing what happens when you use fresh vs dry flowers. Fresh flowers continue to break down within the resin and get brown and gross looking.
