    These are beautiful, Laura! Two things: if you pour your resin in the mold and wait a few minutes, then hit the surface of the resin with a small kitchen torch, it will remove most of the air bubbles in the resin. To avoid any air bubbles trapped around the items you're setting into the mold, dip them in a little extra resin (in a separate cup), and then push them down into your resin-filled mold. Been working with resin for a while and these are little tips of the trade I've picked up over the years!

    • @alliewhite5579
      @alliewhite5579 Před 6 lety +4

      @@itsokaytobeclownpilled5937 pretty well actually but at least laminate it with packing tape or with laminater to be extra cautious. It all depends on the ink.

      Great tip Kate Eggleston ... I love the end result. May I please ask you a question ... what other things that can be made other than dried flowers and leaves. I'm definitely going to make what Laura made as I think they would be great to donate to our old people's home here where I live.

    • @TheSkyAndTheSea
      @TheSkyAndTheSea Před 6 lety +3

      You can embed anything into resin as long as your mold is deep enough. Just be sure that anything made of paper is laminated, as Allie White stated above, and make sure that any pressed flowers or leaves are fully dry before putting them in the mold.

    I inherited one of these from my grandparents.👵🏼👴🏼It’s an orb shaped one with a giant dandelion seed head in it. I’ve always wondered how they were able to get it in there without smashing it. Of course whenever I’d ask my grandpa he’d make up some crazy story that would make me laugh. 😆💕

    I want to preserve the flower I got from my baby nephews funeral in resin to put on my memorial shelf I have for him cuz I'm afraid the flower wont hold up very long cuz as its drying its getting a bit brittle. I only got 1 flower so I only got 1 shot to do it right. This is a great video that shows step by step how to do it. I'm sure now that I can do this without messing up. Thank you.

It was in a smaller version with sayings inside and a magnet on back to put on refergerator. We will definitely be making this version. You got all my kiddos sitting down watching this we love it! Excellent for gifts! 💚💚💚💚💚💚

    What a sweet project! There's no limit to how far you could take these! I'm thinking of monograms, mini roses, tiny fall leaves, etc. I have a Japanese snowbell tree that blooms in Spring. It has the sweetest white, bell-shaped flowers that I'd love to preserve this way. Thanks, Laura, for giving my creativity a "jump start"! 💜

    Glueing a photo that coordinates with what is in the paperweight onto the back makes them stand out. At Christmas I use to make them as a place card for seating. A photo of each person was applied to the back. The paperweights become a gift that everyone loves. Tiny pinecones seashells and cloves make for a beautiful paperweight. I look forward to trying dried flowers this fall. Thanks for all the amazing videos.

      Hi i'm a resin artist, and have been working in the medium for over 5 years. Credentials out of the way, I'd like to inject my expertise. Please have the children and yourself, wear gloves, a respirator mask, and cover all exposed skin. If any of you have sensitive skin or tissue, fumes and the chemicals themselves can cause severe inflammations. Research how to clean up spills as they are difficult to clean, and quite dangerous. After safety is taken in to account, resin is an amazing medium,and extremely versatile. I'd love to see more youth getting acquainted with it! Have fun! more
