BMW Remote Key Repair

A BMW Remote Key Repair is possibly something many may consider impossible but not to be deterred I always like a challenge especially if its something I think I'll be able to tackle with a little patience and determination.
The remote key on My 2006 BMW E91 325i started to be problematic and give battery warnings on the cars' dashboard when inserted. I had presumed it had a faulty battery and thought it would be an easy fix with a new replacement battery from one of the many sellers on eBay.
Little did I know there was a far bigger problem but I rose to the challenge and was eventually triumphant.

Hi Neil, good video, I don't think the damage to the PCB was caused by dropping the fob. More likely you accidently damaged the board when cutting/opening the FOB which is a common issue. To prevent this happening you need to put the remote in a soft jawed vice to hold it while you make precision cuts. Also, if the fob wont lock the doors then your central locking wont activate the factory immobiliser, leaving the car vulnerable if a window is forced or broken open.

Years since I saw someone care about a theft alarm. They dosen't matter IMHO, people around don't mind about it.
But it was surely a great video about repairing a key fob. Nice job sir.
I repaired one for a Renault traffic years ago, way beyound repairable. Switches gone and componets missing.
Worst was to figure out, what was missing. My luck was some kind of images on the remote in the Internet, and a bit of guess work. Using a used spare remote was not in my mind. That was a great idea. Now I have a lot of smd resistors 🙂
