Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Still remember watching this with my late father when I was in my teens. On late night TV and we laughed so much we woke the rest of the family!
Died too young at 55. Thank you for all the laughs. Also love your hilarious antics in the Pink Panther movies. I hope you are happy wherever you are right now Peter.
Decades ago i watched this movie slightly stonend with friends. Needless to say we had a effing good time watching it........ Your stomach will hurt afterwards from all the laughter and you will tear up out of pure joy while watching this.😂😂😂😂😂 Some of the sketches are simply pure genius. Blake Edwards realy did it with this one and Sellers shows one of his best performances.
I was a high school kid watching in a movie theater. I laughed so hard that I completely fell our of my seat and was left sitting on the floor crying with laughter. Forgot what the movie was even about but will never forget that.
I wouldn't want to have been you because laughter, especially the kind where your body scrunches and your eyes tear- that's hard when you can't make a sound. Happened to me on a train once, George Carlin book and sour, grim people who must have hated trains or travel....I've seen this film dozens of times and it STILL cracks me up- it sends up "the jet set"- Hollywood's dismal phonies so adeptly too- that automated house was decades ahead of my worst nightmare! The late Blake Edwards was GENIUS too. If you could ask Peter's ghost he'd tell you- I have to buy this film, I'm sick currently- I'm hopeful I recover fully, laughter helps...my partner is like your fellow passengers, doesn't like Sellers, not even The Pink Panther series featuring Clouseau the Clueless- i can't understand. I can't watch Sellers in bed because it shakes and he can't sleep! Grouches! Birdy Num Num...
Sellers ALMOST had his scenes stolen by the waiter; watch for him as he gets increasingly inebriated as the film progresses - hilarious. Keep an eye out for him, he's brilliant! :D
Kris A You should hear where Steve (the guy playing the waiter) said there was so much foam,he nearly suffocated. The drunk blonde actress is in a chair & he calls to her to rinse off the foam with the "Vodka"(really water) cos he's gasping for air. They pump in foam from an airport firetruck & the stuff usually starves a fire of oxygen,in this case it almost starved the actors of life!!!
My dad introduced this movie to me when I was a kid. It still cracks me up! “Im on a diet but the hell with it!” Takes his shoe off the food tray) “Howdy Part-iner!” “Birdie num num!” “I’m not your sugar!”
"The Party" and "Being There" were without a doubt some of Peters best work. Probably best known for The Pink Panther and while funny, these 2 films are indeed comic genius!
I remember watching this with my dad & brother in the early 80s..dad had a loud roaring laughter which was contagious. We all pissed ourselves with his silly buffoon antics which was pure comical genius in that era. I remember the waiter who was in Bewitched & played a warlock...great funny actor. You don't see that kinda stuff nowadays
What a brilliant hilarious film! Watched this on big screen TV on TCM about 2015 - had no idea and my family laughed so hard! The Howdy Partner cowboy scenes were so funny that my now 5yo son will forever have the nickname Partner!! 😆 Birdy num num is still our nickname for yummy food ha. This whole movie makes you laugh like you’re high!
That's what I thought when I saw Monty Python and later on - much later I'm afraid - got to know The Marx Brothers and Jacques Tati, it's incredible how many different, very subtly nuanced styles of humor(ous acting) have existed before the stuff we got today.
blake edwards said at one point in the filming, peter sellers and he were just wracked with the giggles and it became worse...laughing . they drove around hollywood for 1 hr to shake it off. amazing.
I remember seeing it in full.... I laughed my **** off and the rest aswel... such a funny movie... the Great Peter Sellers.... sadly missed but never forgotten.
Many thanks! Peter Sellers and others of his time were actual comedians compared to the sick idiots today who cannot joke without swearing or sexual references.
So true!! Many of todays crude comedians seem to just rely on swearing, sexual references and "jokes" about bodily functions. The irony of course here is that Sellers would be the one labeled offensive in todays society. This sketch for example would be considered extremely "racist" and "offensive", with Sellers moral character being called into question.
@@markharrison2544 When I stumble upon conversations like this, I always think of Buster Keatons quote: "A comedian does funny things, a good comedian does things funny." ;)
I think this movie, (esp. the bathroom scene), Mad Mad World, and The Money Pit are the funniest movies I can think of. Planes, Trains, Autos and the original Out of Towners were also great.
extremely hilarious,i love this movie, its been a long time i was searching for this.at last i found you.thank you for posting.oh i thought it is till the end,its only a part of it.thanks anyway, wish, you will post the next part.
Thanks for sharing Mariluna...you grabbed the best excerpts from this hilarious film for our enjoyment. While Sellers is stellar, you are the artist that shared all this fun with us. Love&Peace from Denver, CO, Estats Units.
Rowan Atkinson stated that Jacques Tatis character Monsieur Hulot was the inspiration for Mr. Bean, but I'd dare put Peter Sellers and Jacques Tati in the same league.
Birdie Num Nums 😁
This movie will be forever funny To this day. Peter truly was 1 of a kind ❤
My brother and I laughed so much with this movie and now more than 50 years later we still do. Classic!
Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Still remember watching this with my late father when I was in my teens. On late night TV and we laughed so much we woke the rest of the family!
Still one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Peter Sellers, thank you for your comic genius. We really miss you. Rest In Peace.
Agreed. Hilarious.
I can’t get enough of it and I’ve been watching it at least a dozen times every year since 1968♥️♥️♥️♥️
oh he died what a shame
Mostly visual almost slapstick humour. Outstanding.
One of the funniest movies and Peter sellers one of the funniest comedians
A classic my favourite part is the waiter who has a drink every time he sees Sellers and is pissed by the end😂
It's the only movie I've seen over 20 times and I always laugh at its scenes.
Peter Sellers. The definition of the word actor.
One of My favorite comedies of all time. A man invited by mistake to a party trying to fit in. The perfect blend of dialogue and images scenes.
I NEVER get tired of this movie...so simple, witty and funny....pure comic genius as someone posted below. Peter Sellers just knew how to be funny...
Samewise hahahaha such a perfect comedic movie lol
This scene takes me back 54 years and I still love this movie with all my ❤️♥️♥️♥️

This was a classic. My Pakistani family loved this growing up. Mr. Sellers does an excellent South Asian man.
I first saw this while on an airplane flight.. laughing out loud so hard, the people around me must have thought I was crazy. Thanks for posting this.

I know Im kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch new series online ?

I did hear him speak about that, yes, that's what happens when you pay attention. ;)
Humor that is not stupid, an increasingly difficult thing to find nowadays.
I agree with you completly.
Ya, You hit the nail right on the head! I think today they got humour and stupidity mixed up.

The drunk waiter (Steve Franken) was brilliant in this movie.
indeed
Totally agree Dallas Nyberg, he went toe to toe with Peter Sellers in those scenes. RIP to both gents!
Very brillant 👏
Facts. He draws the eye from Sellers every time and that was not an easy thing to do.
@João Victor - Sim, nunca me canso de ver este filme
I saw this movie in my 70‘s childhood and never get tired of it to this day.
"The Party" and "Being There" were without a doubt some of Peters best work. Probably best known for The Pink Panther and while funny, these 2 films are indeed comic genius!
Being There is a work of art and for me, Peter's greatest work.
The toilet paper roll gag was simply priceless . . . ...
Peter Sellers, a true comedy genius!!!!
The real comedy genius here is Blake Edwards. He created, wrote and directed all "Panther's" films. He is "The Man".
Blake Edwards & Peter Sellers were genius! Love this film ❤️❤️
This was my grandmother's favorite movie. When it was playing in town we'd never miss it. She would simply say, "That man is so amusing!"
Hands down the funniest movie I’ve ever seen. Peter Sellers was a comedic GENIUS
I loved it , my sister and my dad loved this movie!! Great great scenes
Peter Sellers + Blake Edwards = bloody funny everytime.
I hope they would aired these movie during quarantine.
These movies can save so many life
Now these heroes were truly genius and comedic
They had such marvelous parties back then. I'm envious.

there will never be a Peter sellers quite like him american actor.
I think that it's a great comedy, surprisingly little known, and underrated.
Like how the owner of the house kept his cool.
Back when comedy actually involved humor.

Rainer , ever see 'The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob' ? I recommend it.
I saw "The party" at the cinema about forty years ago. It was perhaps the funniest film I had ever seen.
Peter Sellers-one of the greatest comedy actors of all time👍
To me, the drunk waiter was the best part of the whole story🤗🤗🤗
easily one of the funniest movies of all time!!
This movie and ‘The Producers’ came out about the same time and were the two funniest movies ever made.
Sad to think we couldn't have a brilliant movie like this today.
Why not?
We could if studios wernt scared and pathetic. They would make a killing!
My Mom and I saw this at a drive in. I could always make her laugh when we talked about it.
The party is one of his best movies.
These clips are hilarious! I need to watch the entire film. Thanks for the upload.
Sellers was so good and the drunken waiter...... 😂
Best movie to watch at a NYE party!
Love the piano tune in this scene, imgaine its 54 years ago this film was shown first..
When I watched Peter Seller's acting I automatically remember the movements of Mister Bean, I think he was one of his acting models.
One if not THE most underrated comedy in film history.
what a concept...what a performance....genius...absolutely everything right on the money
The man had impeccable timing.
