Never ever gets old, I can watch these films over and over, knowing what’s coming, and it still gets me every time. The man was a genius, nothing else comes close.
Parallel bar scene must be the funniest scene ever!!! I cry from laughter every single time, and its been 30 years since I first watched it and I have watched more than 100 times since....
Yep! Then, the next blundering scenes in the "drawing room" as Clouseau questions the staff. He swats at a fly with the metal ball & chain destroying the piano. HOUSEKEEPER: "That's a priceless Steinway". CLOUSEAU: "Not anymore". Comic genius. :-))
a comical genius...light years ahead of anything current or today in comedic value....his timing and response in a scene is impeccable...he understood that it takes a three prong attack in his acting verbal, physical and visual...Peter could put these three together like no other
I remember hearing, at age 12, the sad news of his passing on the radio. A sad day. One of the true geniuses of comedy. Sellers, Blake Edwards, and serenaded by the brilliant scores of Henry Mancini - one of those rare comedy combinations that gets it perfectly right and only comes about once in a blue moon.
I can relate, My mom brought me to the Pink Panther movies and we laughed hysterically, The scene when he get knocked in the face at the club as "Guy Gadbois" had my Mother crying laughing. Seeing these movies together with my Mom is one of my best memories.
Nevermind comedy, from Dr. Strangelove to Inspector Clouseau Peter Sellers was one of the most talented actors of the 20th Century. As a comedic actor he was pure genius. Often imitated, never equaled. Gone too soon.
Ha! We used to do exactly the same. The slo mo is so utterly stupendously funny. For me, the tiny little 'uff' from Dreyfuss when is hit with the crochet ball and falls into the lake is one of the funniest sounds ever.
Clouseau is the kind of man who could be trapped in a building that is set on fire and then blown up...and get away without a scratch because he falls through a hole in the floor and is whisked away by an underground river.
I remember my first introduction to Peter sellers with the song "Doctor I'm in trouble.." I was 10 years old ! And it's been 50 years now and I've never seen a greater comedienne who can make you roll with laughter as he did.. He was the best with his perfect timing and all the various accents... I sometimes wonder if he himself knew who he was...!😂
He knew. Watch 'Being There' and at the end of the dvd the 'out-takes' show Sellars cracking up trying to talk to the nurse... he knew, and knew what was 'verboten'/forbidden in that day.... God, I miss real comedy like his!
He was a millionaire when he died, but in his will he left each of his three biological children who he brought into this world $1000 each. The man deserves no respect.
@@TheCorrectViews Your first and only responsibility in life is to the children you bring into this world. Peter Sellers turned his back on his children. That is the epitome of irresponsibility. He deserves no respect.

ah sit. Being a teen in the 70s, his movies were so funny.. and still are. A shot in the dark, one of his earliest flicks was so funny, to this day I remember watching it with my Dad and how much he laughed. RIP
My favorite scene isn't here, which is when he punches the big punching bag before the parallel bars. It's such a subtle thing, but I laugh hard every single time. I just love how he hides his obvious pain while moving onto the next thing.
I second that! 😂 I love the one where he dresses up like a “mobster” looking like Brando and when they ask him something in Italian… he just laughs it off and says “heh heh … Al Pacino!!”
Used to have a wonderful way of going joke to joke to joke. Wonder how many people realized what he did to Kato one time. He had knocked him out, pulled him by the feet down a set of stairs.. Kato's head whack, whack, whack down each step. Man, from 40 years ago.
Mitico Peter Sellers. Un grande attore diventa leggenda quando riesce ad essere bravo facendo qualunque cosa, interpretando qualunque personaggio, al meglio. Sellers è ormai una leggenda. Vorremmo vederlo sempre.
Somebody on one of these sites posted that he first saw a Clouseau movie when he was eight and has never been the same since. A brilliantly funny post and about a brilliant comic.
Britt Ekland. There's a beautiful Bond girl whose name you dont hear very often. That flying car in the man with the golden gun is like something out a Clouseau movie.
"I could, of course, tell you more, but it would be _safer_ for you if I did not." And then he leans on a cart that does not have the brake set, it slides just a little, he collapses on the floor, and naturally, we believe him.
none can replace him the late peter sellers was not only excellent he gave the part life , the dag, massage , roium , he was simply a outrageous genius.
The golden days of simple humor that anyone could understand! I loved these when I was a kid and still find them amazingly funny!
Proof that the real Jesus never got crucified as it gave me a cover 😂
Never ever gets old, I can watch these films over and over, knowing what’s coming, and it still gets me every time. The man was a genius, nothing else comes close.
The real comedic genius here is Blake Edwards. He wrote and directed all Sellers "Panthers" film.
@@ernestogalura97 I think we can allow them both to have the title.

He was so funny he even made himself laugh - hence all the outtakes. Funniest man ever IMO 👍😂
The one where the psychiatrist as Dreyfuss, how much he hated Clouseau. Dreyfuss said, How high is up??? Priceless comedy.

How they ever got to finish these films is a miracle, they must have had as much outtakes as finished film, the man was a comedy genius.
The dog bite scene always gets me. This movie is one of my childhood classics. I was born in 62.
I was born a few decades later, but that scene is my favorite comedy moment ever.
_The dog bite scene is possible the of the funniest moment in movie history._

It sure is a peach!
We have a cook who thinks he's a gardener and a beekeeper who has lost his voice.
The parallel bars are one of the funniest scenes because the two ends are unexpected.
My Dad introduced me to the comedic genius of this wonderful actor as a young boy. I laughed like I never had before.
This guy was the greatest comedic genius of all time.
Please don't forget Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Buster Keaton, maybe the Marx Brothers, Jerry Lewis... and some others more.
When I first saw "Parallel Bars" I screamed laughing, so much so, I couldn't breathe! Funniest bloke ever, I could watch him for weeks on end. 😂😂
Ahh the parallel bars...... ! ;-)

I would howl with laughter at the clouseau movies, haven't seen any better since
"I hate you Clouseau. Every little molecule." - Chief Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) eye blinking out of control.
