Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I was hoping someone did a well put video for the 9th gen SI.
You my friend are the saviour of CZcams for 8th gens. I couldn't find a video in site for this & u up load this vid. U couldn't have helped me more then I could've amagined to install this over the winter. Thank you so much.
So glad to hear it bud. Thanks for the awesome feedback and good luck with your build
Love the intro. Great video awesome job appreciate the honesty and no BS approach.
Great vid! Can’t believe PRL doesn’t have install videos. They would sell more turbos kits if they created a few install tutorials . I know I would feel more confident buying one from them.

You all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Kingston Malakai Instablaster =)
@Omar Elijah thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Omar Elijah it worked and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account!
Right on bro good vid planning on getting the prl kit soon!
IvannCastro, thank you and good luck on your build
This is an incredible video, awesome information
Thanks so much for the comment! I really appreciate it
I was literallly gonna make an in depth vid like this on my PRL turbo 8th lol you did it for me!! When i was boosting mine there was literally no videos on youtube.
That is exactly why i made it. Good luck with your build bud!
a year later and 5 month later from this comment and still not a single video on how to but this one. Thanks for stepping up
Gold tape works great, I’ve done testing and confirmed it
So for your steering I could be wrong for this particular kit but I know other guys have had success with doing the battery relocation to under the passenger headlight.
Header wrap on the manifold and down pipe to keep bay temps down and help protect the wires and hoses. What i am going to do
do u have videos rolling? with the turbo?
Can u fit a precision 6466 on prl kit ? For 9th gen civic with single exit manifold
Helped a lot
Now I can buy the kit and avoid all of the head scratching and cursing.
Markell Rogers, thanks bud, let me know if you have questions and maybe i can help out.
I went through PRL direct and talked to Spencer. Good guy, tell him i sent you and he might give you a small discount. Good luck!
Ramatorix THANK YOU 🙏
How is this running now? Any update? Break your transmission yet?
man thanks for this video, you seem like a really good dude.
Thanks for the comment! Glad I could help.
where can i find basic kit for up to 400?
When you install that PRL bumper beam what are the measurements from the inside of that bar to the condenser??? Just asking because if it’s the same distance as the stock crash bar I’ll just order the intercooler and fabricate it to bolt up to it.
Sorry but i do not remember. I installed this years ago
We are waiting to hear your after install and drive review... im thinking of buying the same kit and your review will help me. Also have you had it tuned and dynoed? Im interested to here the numbers
Yes, i have been supper busy with life but i am going to get a video done soon with the after install and my first thoughts. I will also cover tuning a little. Probably in the next few days
I want to slap whoever designed the intermediate shaft bracket and decided to put it directly on top of the rear lower motor mount. 2 of the 3 bolts weren't a problem... the lower right side though....
Nice work! I'm in the process of pulling out my entire motor and trans. It's got 205k miles on it so breaking everything loose was a nightmare. I mainly need to get the the transmission which I know I could do without pulling out the whole thing. I just didn't want to drop the subframe and do as little as possible under the car since I don't have a lift and its such an old chassis. I plan on slapping on the PRL turbo kit after rebuilding the transmission and cracking open the engine to replace all the seals and gaskets and see it's condition.
I used all PRL breathing mods on my FK8 and the hose struggle is real! Love their products though. Not looking forward to slapping on a turbo after learning first hand how annoying it is to work on the FA5 and how tight everything is. Which size turbo did you go with?
How’s the trans and motor doing? I’m getting this kit for my 07 Si
Motor and trans are fine but i short shift first to second to save the trans. Also did the cmc swap, delay valve delete, stainless lines, shifter bushings and changed the trans fluid to amsoil.
What mounts are those?
Awesome build! Are you still running on the stock transmission with this kit?
Yes, stock trans and internals. Upgraded clutch, slave, cmc, oil, and bushings
How'd u install the turbo manifold? Did u drop the subframe or did u take the mid/half shaft out? Thanks
Its been years but removed the subframe and and moved the steering rack out of the way. Should be in this video
How is this build going? Have you had any problem with your throttle body coolant flow to your turbo?
Build is great, no problems what so ever in the first year of install.
Do u plan to post a “first drive” type of video ? Curious to see or hear how the turbo sounds.
I did not make a first drive because j was doing an etune. I will get a driving video up soon.
@@Ramatorix i have a video or two on my channel of the same kit
Did you have any issue with the water lines leaking?, I deleted the feed lines to the throttle and routed them to the turbo but they keep on leaking. I don't know if I have them like backwards but they only leak from the top. I really don't wanna have to change them for the 3rd time, I'm sure you know how annoying it is just to fit any tool up there with the subframe on. Any to help would be great man or anyone who can.
I do have a small coolent leak but i think its from the upper rad hose. Once i fix that i will see if the tb lines are leaking
Hopefully I might install a turbo,l’m learning
The coupler right by the manifold is too close for comfort lol. How’s it holding up so far? Our engine bays are so small no room for activities lol
So far so good, im really impressed with how the car performs with this kit
How reliable has this kit been?? Any car issues since running it compared to kraftwerks???
No issues so far. The kit seems great. Im sure i will brake something sooner or later but thats what happens when you over double the stock hp, lol
My bumper is hitting the top intercooler pipe. Do yours rub at all?
Dont think so. My fog light bracket hits the ic pipe on the drivers side
Would the install on a 9th gen be similar? I was looking at the PRL Stage 2 kit for the 9th gen and ive been having a hard time finding tutorials/guides online
You might be able to use this as a loose reference
@@Ramatorix Ok thanks! I was able to find an old forum from PRL in like 2012 that has a bunch of pictures and some basic instructions, this video helped anyways nonetheless. This kit install honestly doesnt seem that bas considering there is basically no fabrication at all
@@AwakenedR6 its not bad at all as long as you have basic to mid skill and knowledge. Good luck bud!
What did you end up doing with maf sensor? No spot for it on the kit
The mas sensor is deleted and the coputer then reads the map sensor
What was your reason for not just pulling the motor ?
The only parts that would be easier with the engine out would be the manifold and turbo. Everything else the engine has to be in and i felt it would be a lot more work to the the engine and trans just for those two parts. I could be wrong
Did you have a j37 throttle body?
Stock tb
Do you still have the Greddy kit?
Yes i am parting it out.
Why didn’t you start the vehicle after you were done installing the kit?
Had to get a tune for it before starting it. I still have the car with this turbo kit on it and it is still running great.
Is it necessary to remove the subframe to fit the turbo manifold in the head?
Yes it is necessary to remove the subframe for the entire install.
Do you have to remove your downpipe to take off the oil filter? I notice my downpipe sits right behind the oil filter, making it complicated when doing oil changes.
No but its a pain, turbo or not. I use a ziplock to catch the oil
*Kind Of Throttle Body Do You Have?*
Stock
P.s. i had to hack that bracket out on the steering rack too. I couldnt make it fit
Which bracket?
Should of went v-band on turbo to manifold to connection
Question...is it worth putting turbo on a non vtec civic 8th gen or is it better left alone and wait until i can get a vtec
These are just my thoughts or my opinion take it or leave it. So adding a turbo to vtec almost cancels out vtec, you cant even hear the cross over anymore and if you look at a dyno sheet you really cant tell when the crossover occured. With that said i would not dump that kind of $ into a non si. Just having the limited slip dif is a requirement. I would save the $ and buy a si then if you want a turbo put it on the si. With that said, thats me and there are plenty of people who boost the r18 and seem happy with it. Good luck with your build and send me a link for a video on what ever you do.
Rick Sanchez really posting car videos now
Did you have to do anything to your engine
Internals no, still stock internals. Clutch, fuel system, motor mounts, ect yes all upgraded
Hey I have a 2014 si I want to boost it stock want to know your opinion
My opinion is the k20 can take the boost. It is really fun to have it boosted but know there will always be little things you have to fix. Your project will never truly be done. I put over 60k miles on my car boosted and never had any big issues.
Its a k24z7
cant find anything like this for 9th gens. Should be similar tho right?
Sorry bud but i have no clue. I have very little experience with 9th.
@@Ramatorix all good man. Appreciate the response
Are you running on stock motor...if so how long a Ben just wondering I want to build mine trying to get the most information possible..great video
Yes all stock engine. The car has been boosted since 3k miles and it has over 50k now
How were the power gains with the kit ? And how many pounds of boost
I still have not dynoed it but my guess is between 400 and 450 to the wheels. Right around 14psi on 91 octain. Keep in mind i am at over 6k feet elevation. I can say the difference between this kit and the greddy is night and day. So glad i switched.
so is it running?
Oh ya, been on this kit since i made the video and love it. Just drove it today.
This kit costs $4500. I think theres another one for $700 on ebay...
you get what you pay for lol
rev9 sells a kit for 1800. comes with everything but injectors and fuel pump
😂😂😂
krombopulos rick i was just about to say that😂😂😂
AND THAT BEIN SAID LOL
Does this kit retain ps and ac? Getting it soon
Yes, power steering is electric so no problems there. It also does not interfere with the a/c. Only issues was the fog light. Have to modify the bracket.
Ramatorix right on! Thanks for the reply 🤙🏽
No problem. Good luck with your build. Please subscribe. It really helps me out.
@@Ramatorix all late but I did. What clutch you running on this set up. Injectors and fuel pump?
I run ID 1000 injectors, a eccedy stage 2 but a lot of people say the stage 1 is better, and a warblo 250 fuel pump
Nice video. I wanted to make a similar video but was too lazy.
I almost didnt because of the amount of work so completely understand!
I thought port 3 was for vent hmm maybe that's why I have boost problems with boost by gear.
Flip it around. Let me know if it solves your issue
@@Ramatorix Will do my friend whenever I get things back in order ill let you know.
How is the kit holding up?
Still have the car. Have not had any issues or had to touch it since I instilled it. I still love this kit. Hope this helps
@@Ramatorix awesome man! You should upload some more content on your car. Maybe even some pulls to help inspire us to finish our builds. Lol
@@christophersalas3098 so I will be honest. I made an entire video of the car after the kit. I was reviewing it before posting and thought to my self. I laugh at people all the time that get a visit from the cops after posting dumb content on social media. I then closed my computer and said not this guy. Lol, i have been meaning to get some content from the track but just haven't. Thanks for the interest and support of the channel. I am considering starting another channel where I review anything and everything. Just dont have the time right now.
Do you have a link for the kit pleasee

Here is a link to their main page.
Thanks! But how did u find the kit or u have to purchase everything separately
@@jake_da_snake6287 i would reach out to them. I installed this years ago so things might have changed but I bought mine as a kit.
@@Ramatorix ok thanks for the info nice build btw!
How's the install going man?
Everything went well, really happy with the kit.
@@Ramatorix Hell yeah. Great video man.
Are you on '9th Gen Civics' page on Fb?
I know it's an 8th but there's tons of good info and parts deals.
No bud im on 8th civic
Ramatorix how much did the kit cost and what did you get in the kit I’m looking to turbo my 8th gen too don’t know if I should go with PRL or Fullrace
so... what happen fo the car content
Has anybody added a turbo to a 2011 civic non vtec?
You have to cut like 75 percent of the fog light bracket.
Do you have any pics?
I will say..20 minute intro was.. somethin
Appreciate every step you documented though
I agree, stupid long. Live and learn. Thanks for the comment
@@Ramatorix lol you’re awesome dude.
Hope you have a great day today!
@@davidmarshall6970 you as well!
Hahahahahahahahaha love your words
Don't be sorry ....

Like Eminem said... “If I offended you... good, I still don’t give a f*ck”.
You offended me.
Hahahahaha, midget wrench got your in the feels lol.
No fucking start up!?
Sell me your old turbo kit? @ramatorix
I have been parting it out but you are welcome to what i have left. Let me know if your interested and i will send you a face book pm
Ramatorix do you have kik/WhatsApp?
Nope, sure dont
Ramatorix send me a fb link and ill pm u
Its right above your last few comments
$5000 turbo kit and can’t even include an instruction manual. I find that justs just a BS excuse. No company you spend that kind of money with should leave their customers without at least a basic install guide.
I think it’s so sad that you have to disclaim that you don’t mean to offend anyone. You did a great job but people just need to grow up and calm down and stop being soft pieces of crap who pick out every slightly offensive word. Other than that good job!
Its pretty pathetic that it has to be said before you do a video to not offend anyone ..how times have changed lmao!
I agree lol.
What a piss poor kit that is. Get a turbo manifold and make your own kit. I could’ve tig welded the intercooler piping and exhaust piping myself and made it fit a lot better than that in a lot less time. Luckily I have a tenth gen and don’t need to worry about all this nonsense.
