@benrogers thats just some warriors site trying to unload wiggins onto some dumb front office. the only reason they think raptors will trade for wiggins is because he is canadian lol. unloading wiggins contract is probably gonna cost them in reality one of their young guys and one of their picks that has a top 10 protection. if not one of their young guys then its gonna cost 2 picks to unload wiggins because whoever they are getting is gonna cost a pick because it will be an expiring contract, and for someone to eat wiggins contract is gonna take a pick.

@benrogers if you are eating wiggins contract and giving up expirings its two top 4 protected 1st round picks in future because the warriors can go into a rebuild at any time or the warriors picks wont transfer. only a dummy takes warriors picks with mid to high protections now knowing the curry era is coming to an end. you have to think ahead knowing the warriors can go into rebuild mode at any time and trade their veterans.
Wiggins is going to have a great 26-27 season. He only plays in contract years. Trade a bag of chips for him in summer 26.
im glad you gave Boucher his flowers. he might not fit in Toronto anymore... but hes got a special quality in him. he can shoot the 3 at a streaky but not bad clip with like 10-13 minutes a game. he puts out a lot of effort on the defensive end. hes scrappy and sacrifices his body for the play. he does foul alot but i think thats been more his role the last couple. Chris has played with alot of great players from the Raptors. hes gonna be a good vet on any team in this league. he stays ready. Thanks Chris Boucher :)

Could you in theory package Boucher, Jak and Bruce brown to warriors for Chris Paul, Wiggins and 3 firsts? I like Jak but by the time our team is ready to contend I dont think he will be good for us. Plus I could see us drafting Edey or Clingan this year. Still have Kelly as a centre for now. Chris Pauls contract will be up and he seems to have this amazing impact on the development of young guards. We have a few I think that could benefit.

Malik Monk may be a better choice for the Raptors. He is just 26 or 27 years old and has shown great confidence and poise during crunch times.
I like the Canadian aspect and he has a ton of athletic gifts but I have my doubts - he's mentally soft and kooky. Spent the first part of his career stat padding, playing zero defense and losing - he is not self motivated. He excelled with the Warriors experience and structure but then his kookiness started to appear. He refused the vaccine and his teammate, coaching staff and management had to breg him to participate in the season - without the strong leadership of Curry, Dremond, Kerr etc he would have pulled a Kyrie - likely would have happened had he been on another team. Then he has missed huge blocks of time for "personal reasons" which he has never felt the need to explain - we're not talking about a week off for a funeral - we're talking month down the stretch of an important season. I'm don't know, as a teammate on a contender and a guynmaking 30 mil a year. This year he was inexplicably mentally checked out for the first half 9f the season before he went on leave again. I think with a young inexperienced team and first year coach it would be a mess - as I said, this guy is not a self starter. I love Canadians but I would take a pass - mentally fragile.

Doesn't make sense for the Warriors to take back Boucher AND Brown if the purpose is tax relief. Under the current CBA, Brown's contract would have to be guaranteed before trading. We couldn't just trade him and then the Warriors decline to pick up his option. Raptors have cap space if we let Gary and Brown walk. So we could basically acquire Wiggins with cap space (if we send McDaniels back). But to do that big favour for the Warriors, basically solving their tax problems, we'd need Moody AND a protected first along with Wiggins.
Wiggins hates Canada since he got benched in a close game for Team Canada.
I like it, but if Bruce Brown should be considered an asset worth a pick on its own.

Wiggins just needs to get away from GS's toxic environment which saw his best friend on the team- Jordan Poole, get traded away after a very unhealthy incident. AW is still a top 5 wing defender in the NBA which is exactly what Toronto needs to replace OG and allow Barnes more freedom on defense. Playing in his hometown could be the key to AW rejuvenating his career in a better environment. A base trade of Brown, Boucher, for AW? With some filler to balance out the salaries? Poeltl, Barnes, Wiggins, RJ, IQ is a solid starting 5 to build a bench around. Olynyk, Ogbaji, GTJ, Dick, JFL, #6 pick (R Dillingham?) #19 pick (K Ware?), #31 pick (*Edey?). Raps trade up (#31 pick) in the end of 1st round for Edey.
I’m slowly coming around to this idea. We need defending. Wiggins’ heart is questionable. His contract isn’t ideal either. But he is the exact type of player that would boost us big time. I say go for it. I think the same thing that happened to RJ will happen to wiggins. Dreaming of playing for the raptors as a kid, not playing with cranky over the hill warriors vets, he has the potential to become finals wiggins again. That starting lineup would be pretty nice. Would you draft dillingham over castle? I would love having dillingham but wondering if castle might be a better defensive bench piece. We do need a pg badly tho
@@lootcharlie9668 Raps need a back up pg and I highly doubt they sign one as a free agent. Lowry, CoJo, Delon Wright, Tyus Jones, Monte Morris are the top f/a names. Best way to get a talented back up pg is to draft one- hopefully they keep the 6th pick and/or move up. Castle is a very solid prospect and a proven champion as well.

@@Desnond AW is 29, he won't turn 30 until February 23 of 2025. Many of the personal issues are family related (dad's health) and his family is from and lives in Toronto. GS toxic basketball environment is most likely wearing on him as well. A change to a more positive basketball environment in his hometown for the team he grew up supporting could do wonders for his overall mental health and on court game. He's very familiar with Olynyk and RJ, as well as all 3 will be suiting up for Canada in the 2024 Olympics. Your generalizations just are not true. All the best.

Will never happen. Raptors cant afford to take on his salary. Hes owed 80+ million over the next 3 seasons and it scales up. They simply dont have the cap to take on his contract and build any type a team around Barnes, RJ, and Quickley. Browns 20 mil hes owed in that extension will be declined to afford Quickley probably. Unless the plan is to go a ways into the tax in hopes to trade him. Raptors need to still work out the max extension with Barnes, which he is eligiable for this summer and you really dont want him going or even being able to think about Free agency, just lock him and Quickley in immdediately then start making other decisions. The move to make with Boucher, is to find a 2nd round pick for him if possible. Free up the 10 mil and a roster spot. Unfortunatley I think we are stuck with Mcdoodoo, maybe he can learn something from his brother(over on the T-wolves) this offseason.

The Warriors get two energy players for depth and salary flexibility. This Allows for GSW to add a lower cost C and their roster is much better.
Raps get bad contract but could be a starter with D and 4-5 Off option and bench shooter who could still grow.
This makes GTJ more likely to move. Maybe we sign and trade but doubtful.

@@FillGaps the problem with jalen smith is he is not a stretch big, that one year where his 3 pt shooting is good is like jalen mcdaniels 3 pt shooting before he came to raptors. jalen smith is basically a precious achuiwa, but not as good defensively. i think precious is more mobile, switchable , athletic and quicker than jalen smith who's movement is more like an og anunoby. both are gonna cost you 15 million a year also so there will be no cheap deal for jalen smith. given that option i would prefer precious defence to jalens defence. there is not enough sample size to say jalen smith is a stretch big given his low volume 3 pt shooting.
I believe Andrew Wiggins is still better than Bruce Brown as a Championship piece to the puzzle for Raptors
