- Was able to play a lot of Helldivers 2 this weekend and clocked some hours using the jump pack. Was able to record some neat clips and compiled them to share.

I also play light armor on Automatons running around being an irritant to enemy forces, but nothing like this level. You are playing like an untouchable vengeful spirit with pinpoint aim like a lore-accurate Boba Fett and I'm here for it

The rail gun work is impressive. The charge is easy but the aim on the fly is awesome
A reminder: Lore accurate Boba Fett got his ass tossed into a hole by a blind man suffering from limb atrophy.
Seeing you switch to another jump pack after using your first one really makes me which we had 2 charges per reload instead of only 1...
hopping around with the jump pack is one of the most fun things in the game. I too wish they would add another charge to the jump pack. Thanks for checking out the video!

It works great with the shield pack too, makes sole extraction easier.
@@Wallbouncing I've often wished there were two charges as well, and I also like how it forces me to still rely on other skills in sticky situations!
So back in HD1, the jump pack had "charges", you use it until you run out, and the jump pack is useless until you call down the next one. You could hop around with no cooldown.

The problem I have when using the jump pack is I forget I have it.
Thanks, people don’t realize how OP it is. I’ve clutched Helldive missions with everyone else dead using the jumppack, many times.

I've heard a lot of people say on my jump pack guide that the jump pack doesn't do much to help the team, but I think in the right hands that the mobility can help get a lot of stuff done around the map. Thanks for your comment and thanks for checking out the video!
I have been running stalwart + jump pack, and the feeling of shooting while in the air is just too good to pass up
I usually use the jump pack to either dodge chargers and bile attacks or to take a position quickly, usually attacking a charger with 3 thermites to the head
@@elpollo2805 it’s great with Blitzer because if you time it perfectly, you can actually aim in mid-air. Fire as you jump, then fire at peak (this is the hard one to time) then fire as you land, hit 9 targets in the space of a jump!
Thermites seem awesome but I can’t seem to get them to work reliably
5:27 The strat call-in while getting swarmed + the quick jetpack escape while turning... That is a MASSIVELY underrated part. Really well done.

Just wanted to let you know that you dont have to go for headshots against devastators with railgun, anywhere below the belt is an instant kill at any level of charge (even safe)

My conclusion after watching the whole video:
Sometimes comes in handy, but not that useful.
Without the jetpack, I would've tackle the situation in the videos differently without much issue either
The only thing worth noting is that, one can position oneself in more dangerous position with jetpack, but even the video poster does not come out of it unscathed and not without risk.
Switch it to rover against terminids when mobbed by hunters, definitely would ease more than jetpack.
Which my personal take is, just position yourself smartly.
Definitely for fun play, and not useless.
I agree and believe that with other backpack stratagems such as a guard dog or a shield generator you can take a lot more safer and methodical approaches to fighting enemies. The jump pack, however, is just a really fun tool to use for navigating the battlefield and possibly for finishing out objectives quick and easy. Thanks for checking out the video!

I run jump pack 100% of my dives...wish they'd add a backpack slot to the armory for all the non-support weapon packs like the shield generator pack, jump pack, medic oack thats coming etc.

7:48 oh you can start the Machine gun reload while still in the air? Is there a trick to it, or just hit reload? Very cool. The MG is one of my favorites on bug missions. I gotta start using the jump pack more. Also gotta increase my FOV. :)
Awesome playing. You're an inspiration.
No tricks, just reload while you're in the air. Sometimes it won't go off the first button press so I spam the reload button to make sure it goes through. Your speed and height do change while you reload the machine guns, but you're still able to get some meaningful distance away from enemies so you can complete your reload in peace. You can reload normal primaries and secondaries without it affecting your jump pack jumps, it's just with those weapons with stationary reloads such as the machine guns. I finished the whole vid now and I just wanna say bravo. People sleep on the jetpack all the time because it doesn’t do damage on its own or provide additional armor, but I think the added mobility lets you set up way bigger plays than any other stratagem in the game. But honestly, judging by your skill, I think you could make a double smoke, machine gun sentry and minefield loadout work somehow.
Appreciate your kind words! I do agree that the jump pack has a lot usefulness that isn't recognized. People would say it's not worth taking because it doesn't do much in terms of damage or defense and doesn't really contribute to the team, but I think it's great for taking out side objectives such as stalker lairs or quickly disabling a stratagem jammer that your team might be too slow to get to, which benefits your team if you're able to get to it and take care of the job. For bot headshots with the railgun: how precise do you have to be vs the hulk's face? My aim is a little shaky shooting them in the eye slit with the autocannon without stuns. Should I even bother with the railgun in that case, or just use quasar instead?
From my experience, you need to be pretty precise with it. If you hit the hulk with the railgun it would show the impact as this bright red circle and sometimes when I shoot it the circle overlaps with the hulk's eye which tells me just how close I was but not enough. The railgun is great for killing hulks, but tbh it's really only the best for killing hulks. Quasar cannon is great in multiple scenarios. If you do want to run the railgun, I'd suggest bringing stuns to help out. I know in my clips I didn't use stuns but as I was getting more and more familiar with it I used a lot of stun grenades to get used to aiming the railgun. Think of it as training wheels, haha. Dope clips, btw u can destroy Souron's eye with 500kg. Jetpack, railgun and 110 look like such a fun combo, if not for gunships i would probably use it all the time.

I wish it actually worked when I'm not sprinting. When stationary, slowed, out of stamina or surrounded by bugs it "jumps" about 3 feet in the air while automatons with jump packs can fly from another end of the map and explode right in my face :(
It is a bummer that being slowed, not having high initial speed or not having any stamina greatly reduces the effect of the jump pack. In a game where I'm constantly running around and diving, it sucks to not get the extra 3 meters of height or distance that would've saved my life in some situations. Never use it with zero stamina. All it requires is 1 stamina to jump further.

Thanks for your comment! I like to experiment with my loadouts but my favorite loadout so far is is EATs with 500kg bomb and 110mm rockets. I usually take light armor, the slugger and senator and high explosive grenades. Thanks for watching the video!
Does using light armor have immediate effects on jump pack capabilities?
@@robau84 jump distance with the jump pack is dependent on how fast you are going when you jump and whether you have stamina or not. Since light armor gives you the highest base speed you'll be able to maximize your jump distance with it. Beyond that and to my knowledge, no other effects to jump height or otherwise. Hope that helps!

As someone who is obviously skilled with the jump pack, would you say that light armor is absolutely necessary for an aspiring jump pack user?
I wouldn't say it's absolutely necessary, but the speed in which you travel with your jump pack is dependent on whether you have stamina or not and your speed at the time of the jump. Since light armor gives you the fastest base movement, you'll be able to cover more distances with the jump pack, so if you want to maximize your jumps I do recommend running light armor. On the other hand, if you like to use weapons like the machine gun or heavy machine gun and want to find a nice place to shoot, or run sentries and want to just find nice vantage points for them, you can run the other armor types if you prefer the height rather than just the mobility that the jump pack gives. How are you getting so much height and distance with your jump pack? mine takes me like 7m
Jump pack height is all about stamina. Without stamina you can only do the small jumps. It could also be my FOV. I play a high FOV so all my running and jumping looks like it clears big distances but it's all the same, it just looks that way. Day one user here, unfortunately they screwed with the ability to climb terrain. Makes a jumpackers life unnecessary herder than it already was on Helldive difficulty
When it comes to mantling on terrain, I myself haven't found a distinct way to know if it's climbable or not. There's ledges I feel like I can easily vault on but am unable to and other times where I was able to climb on and even stand on a single stone protruding from some rock wall. It's a constant case of trial and error but when it works it can be really good. As someone who's been through all the nonsense, it's still fun to take around so keep at it! Yeah, it's fun to bunny hop around the map with multiple jump packs. Sometimes you just save a little time and get a little more distance but in moments like those you can really navigate a battlefield stylishly and dunk on some bugs. Thanks for checking out the video!
In my mind this is what i though me using the JUMP PACK would be like...the reality of it is more like: I jump pack out of a base and land directly on a mine. 🙃

why use slugger and not jar 5?
It's more of a personal preference. I really like the way the slugger feels compared to the jar 5 despite the jar 5 being, in my opinion, the better weapon stat-wise. Thanks for checking out the video!

As the only mobility-increasing backpack/stratagem they likely made it use stamina to balance it out… the price of also being able to access higher ground I guess
I’d love 2 charges and no/lower stamina cost but that’d probs make it too strong(?) I’d be happy even with just faster recharge times tbh
i feel like the logic behind your stamina being used is that it's not the jetpack itself that's elevating you, it's your own legs' initial thrust whose momentum the jetpack carries over to extend your jump

Rewatching the clip, all the bullets fired by that devastator were going nowhere that the barrel was aimed at, haha.
