    AQURON has many different concrete densifying products, they are the experts in that field. Their hotline number is (972) 722-5444 . Depending on your particular concrete issues and environmental scenarios, they will recommend different treatments. If you have bad concrete, you should NOT apply ANY concrete coatings before it is addressed with AQURON products! They are great people and would love to help you.

    Great instructional video! I’ve been a professional contractor in Florida working since 1980 and it’s awesome to see such thorough and detailed instructions. Thanks Jeff!

    All of your videos are SPOT ON! You give excellent step-by-step DiY guidance. If someone watches your videos and can't do this, that's fine, but if I were them, I wouldn't tell anyone, and I would even take a driving class because I bet you find yourself being honked at daily for reasons you have yet to understand. Having said that, I have probably opened myself up for some verbal assault! Jeff, I wish you would have included in this video the sixth thing that will wreck a coating project: the selection of the wrong color. Thankfully on this platform, I can openly lay fault and blame accurately on my wife. She would be a better person if Maybelline came with a direction video. Shy of scraping all of it up with a 3-inch scraper, how can I correct that? I completed my project about 2 weeks ago.

      The two biggest killers is bad concrete and hydrostatic pressure. If you’re unsure, it never hurts to use AQURON’s products !!! It’s the best way to “bulletproof” the job. A fantastic investment for long term performance.

    Great video! I put on Cool last year and love the product! But not very happy with the color I chose. Can I apply another layer of Cool on top (different color) if I sealed the first layer or do I need to etch the sealant first? Thanks.

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Brian ! If I were you, I’d send the sealer through one more winter and then inspect it in the early spring. If you’re in the desert and don’t have ice / falling leaves/ etc and you don’t “close” your pool, then of course you could tackle it now if you choose. I’d recommend de-glossing the sealer with a product called “liquid sandpaper” . This is the only product you should use, because it is gentle enough NOT to compromise the cool coating underneath. Of course you can call us anytime for detailed technical assistance . Additionally: we’re releasing a new and improved version of our sealer very soon. I’d wait for that ! Thanks again ! (888)776-2242 . Ask for me. (Closed on weekends) :)

    I bought the triple crown cleaner, cool deck, seal back bundle. I’ve watched several of your step by step videos. I’m basically ready to go. My only question is can I apply your Cool deck on top of a pool deck That I repainted with a paint/epoxy product last summer 2020? We actually love the look but the deck just gets too hot. Thank you

    Might be a dumb question but..... we've had rainy days on super hot days here in TX. It's hot then it rain hard for like 30m and then the sun again..... can I apply on a rainy day? And or once washed then it rains do I start the process all over again? Should I wait for sunny days? Hot and cloudy days don't work? Sorry for the many questions. TIA!

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před 2 měsíci

      It can rain after the deck is cleaned . Cool should be applied in the early morning during summer months onto clean, dry, strong, residue-free surfaces. It can rain on the cool if it’s had a few hours to dry. You can wait several days to apply 2nd coat of cool if need be. Apply Sealback clear sealer with at least 18 hours no rainfall in the forecast. If sealer gets rained on too soon, it’ll “blush” and turn milky white.

    Would you need to reseal concrete that has been lightly eroded by salt water from the pool before using this kind of product?

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před 2 lety

      How old is the concrete? A “sealer” would never be a good idea prior to applying this product. Anything that repels water (sealers) is not a friend to COOL, since COOL is water based and needs to somewhat penetrate the surface to establish adhesion. If you’re concerned with the integrity of your concrete, AQURON’s products are the best option to “bulletproof” the application prior to applying COOL!. Hope this makes sense , call us anytime ! (888) 776-2242 . Thanks.

    50-82 degrees ambient or surface? And how much time do you have that you need to anticipate the application before the temp is predicted to exceed the 82 degrees?

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před 2 lety

      These are ambient temps... having shade will go a long way, therefore it my be 86 degrees, but if you’re in the shade (perhaps a covered patio) the product will behave accordingly. This time of year in most of the country, the first coat needs to be applied early in the morning, and before lunch time it is too hot to continue. Hopefully you can complete the first coat, then wait for the following morning for the second coat. You’ll be able to tell if the product is being provoked by the heat, it’ll dry too quickly, and sometimes “pick back up” onto the roller - refusing to
      Settle onto the surface and develop a bond. Hope this helps and answered your question! Call us anytime (888) 776- 2242 M-F

    Can you apply this product on concrete the was acid stained previously with a clear coat? It was done about 15 years ago, the stain is fading and the clear coat is pretty much gone.

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před rokem +1

      Yes, but the clear sealer must be completely gone and the surface must be accepting of water, no “beading” effect!

    I am assuming I cannot apply this product over Behr Granite Grip paint on my existing pool deck. The Granit grip is peeling off in areas and I need to redo the entire patio and pool deck.

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před rokem

      Typically , previously painted surfaces are fair game IF they are in good condition and maintain a solid bond to the surface below. Granite grip is an acrylic product so they would
      be compatible , but only if your granite grip still has good bones. You can always send us pictures or call! M-F 8-5pm . Thanks ! Www.encorecoatings.com

    1 more question. My original patio is also etched to look like tile. Will this fill on the lines or would I need to use something else to smooth the surface?

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před rokem

      It sounds like you have stamped concrete or perhaps plain concrete with decorative saw cuts to appear like tiles , no, the COOL will not and should not flood the voids in attempt to eliminate them. It is not a “filler” or “leveling” product. You can always send us pictures and call us for detailed discussion ! (888) 776-2242 or send pics to Ryan at rmartin@encorebrands.com . THANKS!!!

    How long does the temp need to be 82 or below after you paint? If I paint in the morning at 80 and by noon its 95, that ok?

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Certainly. Only during application does it need to be below 82. You can be over 82 if you have shade.

  • @551Newf
    @551Newf Před 2 lety

    Wish I could post a pic, but I did a test at our Apartment pool. I used my Thermoworks Signals BBQ Thermometer (±1.8°F (±1.0°C) from -4 to 248°F (-20 to 120°C) to test some temps. Ambient temp was 108 degrees (yeah Texas). The pool deck area ambient temp was 111 because of the solar gain in the pool decking. The travertine coping was also 111 degrees (Say yes to Travertine!), but, the concrete pavers were 125 degrees! (That is called medium rare in Texas!). Now, I do not know if you can use this on pavers, but I can tell you, concrete pool decking is crazy hot and if this product is all that they claim, it is worth a serious look. SO no, I am not promoting the product, I am totally promoting the need for cooling a pool deck surface. Incidentally, when it comes to your kids and your pets, tissue damage happens to the skin in 60 seconds at 125 degrees...so there's that.

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203  Před 2 lety +1

      Theoretically it could be used on pavers but it’s so tedious (nearly
      Impossible) to coat the joints *WITHOUT flooding them and blocking your drainage to the gravel substrate below. This will not only cause puddles, but now the coating is forced into a submerged application which it’s not designed for. Great data and thank you for sharing. NOTE: although COOL can be tinted to any color, if heat reduction is a priority, you should choose the color accordingly, light pastel ranges. Even light to medium grays contain black oxide pigments that can heat up when ambient temps exceed 100F. However, it’ll always be cooler than an ordinary “patio paint” (in the same color) in a head to head comparison . Thanks again !
