    So it looks like someone pourd globs of paint on there. Worse than the original pebbles.. If I were the homeowner, this is what I would do if you want cool deck over exposed agrigate that you want to keep. Rent a concrete sanding machine like the professional coating guys use and sand that concrete as flat and as smooth as possible. Then apply knock down texture. Then apply cool deck. Dont apply cool deck on top of that pebble because its looks extremely amateur and sloppy. In the end with the sanding process, it will look just like or almost like a regular concrete deck with texture cool deck.

    How long does this keep it's new install look? Sealers out here in hot Nor Cal start turning white and look terrible after a couple or few years. Will this installation process work on stamped concrete? How much cooler does your concrete really get?

    • @encorecoatingsuniversity3203
      @encorecoatingsuniversity3203 Před měsícem

      Our sealer won’t become white unless it gets wet before it cures . Our sealer needs to be re/applied every two years. This will work for stamped concrete but any existing sealers MUST be stripped beforehand using a sealer stripper / remover. Then begin our protocol. COOL! Will not eliminate the stamp’s contours. If heat reduction is the priority, choose color accordingly and you’ll have good results! Thank you!!!

      Stamped concrete needs to be “stripped” first. Using a “sealer stripper/remover” product. Very easy to find these. Follow directions! After the sealer is stripped, now begin our 3 step process - triple crown, two coats of COOL, 2 thin coats of sealer. You MUST make sure the clear sealer is removed from the stamped completely. It is ALWAYS sealed during initial installation and often sealed over the years to maintain it. These sealers, although you may not see them as much as you used to, can interfere with ANY water based coatings you may consider. THANKS !!!! 🤟🙏 (888)776-2242

      It can rain after the deck is cleaned . Cool should be applied in the early morning during summer months onto clean, dry, strong, residue-free surfaces. It can rain on the cool if it’s had a few hours to dry. You can wait several days to apply 2nd coat of cool if need be. Apply Sealback clear sealer with at least 18 hours no rainfall in the forecast. If sealer gets rained on too soon, it’ll “blush” and turn milky white.

      Sanded grout, made by “PolyBlend” is a great choice for patching old knockdowns! Replicating the texture is the tricky part. Use a hopper gun, or a dash brush to glob / shoot it on there, then “knock it down” using a trowel to achieve the knockdown texture. Experiment on cardboard first before moving to the deck. Thank you!!!

    I'm trying to understand how this saves money, as I would like to use this for my 5500 sq ft aggragete driveway. This is what I have gathered so far. For the job shown for this video, it took 64 units (buckets) of Cool Coating @ $250 a bucket at Lowes = $16,000. Additionally, you need to buy a 1 gallon bucket of paint for each Cool Coat unit, so in the example for this video, another 64 gallons of paint, 64 gallons of paint @ $30 a gallon = $1,920. I don't know what the customer paid for labor, but we're at $18,000 for just the material before all other things considered with labor and additional material. I have received quotes to resurface my 5500 sq ft driveway in the range of $25,000-$30,000. IMO, I would rather pay a little more to have it fully resurfaced correctly than to paint over aggregate. Please let me know what I'm missing here, as I would like to use this product if suitable for my job. Thank you for any feedback!

      This product makes sense for a pool deck where people are barefoot - a pool deck that is otherwise non-functional because its so sharp on the feet. Aged aggregate becomes this way. This product is NOT for driveways. Yes, this product can seem expensive once a surface such as this starts soaking it up, the coverage is heavily compromised. But it’s still much more cost effective vs. demolition and removal of the existing aggregate to replace with new concrete or new aggregate . Thanks !

    I like the stonework better. Make a clear epoxy that can be applied to the surface that makes it less sharp and cooler but retains the color of the stones. I think using a clear epoxy on top very thick would make it cooler and less sharp but keep the cool pebble pattern on there. I know you think it is dated but it really isn't. Those types of surfaces like exposed aggregate are timeless when done correctly.

      Agreed. My exposed aggregate was done properly. It just needs to be restored with clear epoxy. There's no way I would smear peanut butter over top of it

      It’s going to be expensive to put epoxy on such a large area, isn’t it? Any ideas where to get well priced epoxy?..

    What if you have the first 2 layers down and it rains what does it look like? Do I need to need to to wait longer before I seal? I know I have to wait until it’s completely dry before applying the sealer coats.
