  • I'm fixing the speed matching for my Athearn Genesis GP7u's. One of them had different CV numbers when new and needs to get redone to match it's partner.

Special Request… make a video of ALL your fences, hedges, gates, barb wire. If possible, show a ‘how I do it’ video. I really like your diverse fencing on the layout.

Great video Rick, Very informative and pretty much the way I do it as well. I use index cards to keep track of the values I change. I have a bunch of programming to do. I try to pick at it a little at a time🤷‍♂️ Thanks for sharing and have a good day. Happy modeling!! -Jason

They run just fine together. When you pull freight cars behind these units, you won't be able to tell ANY difference in the two Geeps.

I do like the NCE Power Cab controller as its sheer compactness makes it great for the N-scale shelf layouts I'm working on. The only criticism I have is that it doesn't have a separate line for a programming track like my Digitraxx Zepher Express controller does. Not a big deal as I rarely run more than two engines at a time, but I have to remember to pull the other engines off the track before I program one, :)

What you want is the NCE Auto SW. The output from the Power Cab goes into the Auto SW (switch) which then directs the signal to all the track on the layout, or cuts the signal to all but the programming track if the program track option is selected. Use a siding with insulated rail joiners as your programming track. I have one and it works great!

You can use the reverse trim to slow down 1317 when going in reverse and then you just might have perfection. (CV 95 if using TSU2. pg 61 of TSU2 manual)

Great video on programming. It seems that you have a great programming setup on CVs can you reply with a couple of good pictures of your list? I've already set 2 of mine up like a CV list you put up awhile back. Thank you.

I am about ready to upgrade my n-scale layout for more power. I currently use the NCE POWER CAB. So was looking into the NCE PRO CAB-wireless. But have noticed many use the ESU system also. So my question is what draws you to the ESU over the NCE? I have noticed there seems to be a $200.00 price difference with NCE being the higher. Thanks for any input in advance! Love your layout !

I think both are good. I like the esu because it is a bit less and it's wifi, and I bit more up to date. kind of like using a phone.
