I watched Lance's last video. I Love his operations. As a matter of fact, I commented on it saying how I love the fact that you and he both do some of the most realistic Ops sessions.

Hey Rick I saw there was an update for your ESU throttle. Have you checked it out?

Some of my relatives in Florida Turn the Heat once it's goes under 70 degrees F. They put on the Long Underwear 60 degrees F. It's rare Floridians get Temperature's below 40 degrees F, but it happens. I don't what cold is, and I like in Pennsylvania. I mean compare Alaska to Pennsylvania, I would assume Alaskans would 19 degrees in Pennsylvania a heat wave compared to 19 degrees in Alaska.

Found this really interesting. Being a map freak too. I wish this stuff was available when I planned my layout. Southern Wine was one of my customers, and I'd talked to the lady charge about a site visit to check out rail service. Same with Tamco steel out in Fontana. Had some great customers. (GE in Erie being one, wink) That Terrazzo place, I think was connected with a stone shipper on the old D&RGW Montrose branch. It was short lived and I think* most of that stone went east. A question for you Rick, was there a reason you chose not to model the pool supply place there at Los Nuts? I assume* it's still there. They used to get Chlorine tank cars (which Atlas makes) would add switching there. I think there was that and another place alongside the yard that would go right along your backdrop there. Just food for thought. (More places to switch lol) Cheers, Was a very interesting and useful vid.

From bare bones to current operating layout in four years! You've brought it a long way. You've also reinforced the saying that "a model railroad is never done" with all of your tweaks, changes and additions. (I remember when Shasta Beverage was a cardboard box.) Congratulations.

From your description of the process, it seems the silos are for loading outbound trucks. The small volume of the silos indicates this too, for rail loading the silos would be much larger. The silos might move towards the aisle to be above a concrete driveway. Inbound rail hoppers would dump to an inground pit with a roof cover. Conveyors for both will cross the tracks to the processing plant.

Flashback format was a great idea! Thanks for taking me back to the beginning, I feel like I'm caught up now. You really came a long way in 4 years!

It's amazing how much bigger a simple backdrop makes the layout feel! In the older video, where you can see the entire layout at once, it doesn't look much bigger than a 4x8 "Christmastime" layout. Divide it up into separate scenes, where you can't see everything all at once, and the same layout looks and feels much, much larger.

You've come a long way in 4 years. Looking back really puts into perspective just how much has changed and evolved.

I really enjoyed seeing what the current layout evolved from. Stay COOOOOL!

Oh I miss California so much....spent the night in Mississippi and heading to Tennessee...the only advantage I have of driving otr is stopping at hobby shops....

I love the "atmosphere" of your layout. It does sell the illusion of semi dessert. I'm planning to model something similar, just 1950s. Also subbed... I honestly thought I already had a few months ago... Looking forward to updates!

What is the big building behind the silos. You could move it closer and run track into and along side that building. This way you could still have the back drop building for something else. I am thinking you could also add a right hand turnout before the silos for a storage track
