Cobb & Co: The Last Run

Welcome to the Cobb & Co Museum in Surat and Cobb & Co Park in Yuleba, Queensland! Come along as we delve into the rich history of Australia's iconic Cobb & Co staging post museum and visit Cobb & Co Park in Yuleba, the last stop in Australia for this significant piece of history.
The last Cobb & Co coach service in Australia ran from Surat to Yuleba on August 14, 1924. Founded in Melbourne in the 1800s, Cobb & Co became a popular transport option for those heading to the goldfields. Soon, horse-drawn coaches carried passengers across the states. Service No. 177, the most famous route, ran from Yuleba through Surat to St George in Queensland, covering a distance of 203 km with changing stations every 25 km. These stations allowed for fresh horses and provided morning or afternoon tea, or lunch, prepared by the station owner's wife. Many stories about the Cobb & Co coach run are preserved at the Cobb & Co Changing Station in Surat. (Ref: visityuleba.com.au/cobb-co)
