My dad flew 30+ years with AA and I’m a private pilot. These airplanes are built extremely “flexy” so they can take a ton of heavy turbulence with no worries. Sitting in the back can make one feel out of control and scared. Think of it this way, imagine 4 wheeling….fun? then close your eyes. Uh oh now that is scary because of perspective. One quickly will re-open their eyes! So being in the cabin is like your eyes are closed four wheeling but u can’t open them! However, If u could see the plane from a side view outside (like an angel 😇 flying next to u) you would find the plane is not moving as much as it feels. Perspective….I hope that helps.

That's "climb". Fixed it for ya! Gotta love that guy reading the magazine the whole time 2:05 The FA tried to reassure everyone, but then the Captain came on and said "we're going to try a different runway; if we don't make it in our alternate is Pittsburgh". I don't think that's too reassuring to those not familiar with flight procedure, especially as he doesn't even give the reason. 7:43 "Mama!" I've flown a lot and had 3 aborted landings. One on LH Cityline to L'viv. Captain due to heavy fog went on to Kyiv and we took a 7 hour bus back. I didn't mind though; safety is the most important thing! Another time on CO we flew directly into a major storm causing severe turbulence and instead of IAH went to CRP, then reboarded to IAH. Someone said "I've been flying for 40 years and never experienced anything like that!" Anyway just to explain for those who don't know, a flight plan is supposed to include an alternate airport just in case of things like this. A microburst could potentially crash a plane, so that's why this one was aborted. If I was on that flight I'd say, "don't worry everyone; I've flown millions of times and this is no big deal" while crossing my fingers. By the way this isn't Delta and not going to BOS; it's United either CRJ or Embraer plane.

People in the basement of their house with windows breaking upstairs, and they are "laughing". These are all ways to cope with the nerves at hand. Glad I have Xanax. Sounds like a passenger just went up and got on the phone and started talking to the passengers, "We are starting to climb. And I don't know why. I don't know why we have to go back up. Etc." Finally the captain cut her off, in a very professional manner, and said, "We might have to go to Pittsburgh." Translation: I don't like turbulence or microbursts or anything else like that. Yep , roughest take off I ever experienced. I’m Australian it was 1980 in Boeing 727. I landed back there a few days later, it was much smoother . I had to really hang on on the airstairs because of the wind. The airport was closed the next day.

That’s not the inside of a Delta plane, or did you mean there’s a city called Delta?? The only town I know of called Delta is in Colorado, and I’m pretty sure they don’t have flights to Boston!!

True, the card says United and no way their alternate would be PIT if they were going to BOS which is 600 miles away.

United did this to me in the 1980s landing at LAX. Pilot couldn't stick the landing twice and announced that they were going to try Ontario instead. Ended up landing on the third try. I don't fly United, ever, but the pilot that day did great.

The flight attendant had NO BUSINESS making that announcement. She is not a pilot she is not the captain. She should have just remind everyone to keep your seats, fastened seatbelts and leave the explanations for the go around to the CAPTAIN!

Very lucky some microbursts bring planes down if pilots aren’t aware what they are doing and how to handle them
