- Prior to the segment starting, Steve went backstage to speak to the comedic legend herself, Carol Burnett! In a touching moment, he explained that as a child he used to watch her on television. It was in those moments when he realized he wanted to pursue a career in entertainment.

I grew up watching Carol Burnett and that show remains comedy gold! It’s the funniest, most creative skits ever done. Ms Burnett is a legend!

My siblings and I grew up in a rough inner city neighborhood, quite poor. Miss Burnett's show brought us happiness during one of the most turbulent times in our country. Our parents had emigrated to the US, years before, when they were quite young. Though my siblings and I were born here, our ethnic background made us feel out-of-step with the rest of the American culture. However, Ms. Burnett's show made us feel very much a part of the American fabric, through the shared joy of her comedy. Thank you Miss Burnett.
I cannot believe she’s 89! She looks great for her age! Her memory is sharp, she recalls so many events she lived through like if they happened yesterday. And she looks healthy.

I'm only 31, but Carol Burnett means so much to the comedy culture. My mom raised me old school. That show is hilarious even in 2022. One of my favorite characters she played was on The Lucy Show where she was the shy clumsy librarian that turned out to be really talented in singing and performing lol

Carol is such a humble and down to earth and very very very funny person I was just laughing through the entire interview. Love her.
She and her show were the Best. Saturday nights in the seventies were A piece of heaven. Never again the same when her show left the airwaves in 1978.
And she always seems like your best friend or next door neighbor. What a terrific woman/person!

I LOVE Carol Burnett. She looks almost exactly like my mother, and she made my mom cackle like a chicken from laughing so much...which made all the rest of us nearly die laughing. We already were laughing so hard at Carol in her skit, and then almost not able to breathe for laughing at mother's laugh at Carol. I thank Carol from the depths of my heart for making my mother laugh so hard, giving our whole family such extreme joy...and, well, just making my mom so happy. She was ill her whole adult life and struggled a lot. It was truly a delight to see her so happy! BTW, she also had a daughter named Jodi. Thank you for being an entertainer! Love to you Miss Carol! ❤

As a teen growing up in the 70's, I'm so glad I had that time together, sharing a laugh or singing a song. Show would always seem to end too soon and when she would sing "so long". Thank you for this interview. Her show was a bright spot in my life growing up as well as millions of others.

I get what Steve is saying , those of us over 50 and were kids in the 70s and watched her show every week got t laugh out loud with humor that was hilarious and never vulgar or crude. She is a legend in comedy.
Look at her making him feel less nervous with that moment of levity knowing it is HIS SHOW. And it completely brought him back and the interview was wonderful.
I'm 50 and she's been a major part of my comedy and laughter and happy since I was born. She's an absolute legend, and I'm not American, but she's a national treasure here for sure. What a treat!

The Carol Burnett Show was the best variety show ever! Best cast and guests! There will never be another show like it. Reality shows of today are sooooo much cheaper to put on and we’re all the worse off for it in my opinion. Carol is so vibrant today, isn’t she? I just love her!

I have amazing memories of watching the Carol Burnett show with my Mom. She passed away 10 years ago this year but those were some of my best memories laughing so hard with her I’m trying to pick who would break a sketch first… Tim or Harvey😂 I absolutely adore Carol Burnett and have all of my life!!😂❤

I saw her do her one-woman show a couple of years ago -- my wife even asked her a question during the Q&A -- and Carol's talent, humor, and sheer "niceness" of personality just filled the whole theater, like nothing else I've ever seen. It was so overwhelming that, like Steve, I have to admit I teared-up.

I am 65. I remember watching her show every week. It was one of the funniest on tv. Back then, you couldn't watch at your leisure. You had to PLAN to watch as it was only on at a certain time on a certain day.

Carol Burnett was one of my favorite shows as a child even though it aired before I was born. This woman looks great and I guess it's true what they say laughter makes you remain young.

I believe that Steve is 1000 % sincere. She is more than a legend. What Carol did and the talent she has,can never be duplicated. I grew up with Carol myself. The cast of her show was #1 at none. And the way it was produced and directed was simply off the charts. That was tv brilliance on a level never seen before or since.

I love Carol Burnett! She is the reason that I stopped going to the tithe box at church. Once in an interview someone asked about her charitable contributions and she said "God loves a cheerful giver, but you need not know who the giver is". I have always donated anonymously since.

I was walking down the street, must have been 2002 and who is walking towards me? Carol Burnett, she was by herself as was I. I was taken by surprise not expecting to see her and I blurted out without thinking "Carol Burnett!" -- and she stops, looks me in the eye and says "and what's your name?" -- and I tell her and we have a conversation - I could not believe it -- you would have expected her to smile and keep walking but no, she took the time to exchange with me - I am one never to expect that celebrities owe me anything especially their personal time -- it was a very nice moment and whenever I see a reference to Carol or an appearance like this on Steve's show I immediately think of not the show biz Carol - but the very kind, nice, sincere Carol I met on the street years ago. God bless her and her family!

I just want you to know that Momma's Family saved my life....I moved a lovely 97yr old lady with dementia in my home during covid so she would not have to go to the nursing home.....THIS WAS THE ONLY SHOW THAT WOULD CALM HER....I played the marathon on CZcams and she just laughed and laughed and laughed.....thank you Mrs. Carol
