Just searched for the premium economy of British airways and Glad I came across your video! Thanks for detailed review of BA PE.. This will help me while boarding to BA😊
There are some nice touches like the menu and the amenity kit which add to the experience and make it feel more "premium". Would be interesting to experience the seat and the service in a full cabin however as I generally find that lightly loaded flights are more enjoyable and the crew have more time to devote to each passenger.
Yeah too true. Should say, whilst I lucked out with a seat free next to me, I think it was only one of two free seats in the cabin :) You’re totally right though!
Sadly can't travel anymore due family members poor health. Love BA. My wife passed out on a daylight flight from Cape Town to Heathrow. We will never forget the kindness and caring from the Captain and crew. They even contacted us at our hotel a day later to ensure my wife was OK. Sadly BA no linger flies locally within South Africa.
That’s such a lovely story, hope you get back in the skies one day. They really are fantastic when the worst happens, it makes such a big difference especially when you’re far from home ✈️
Great video thank you. I’ve upgraded to World Traveller plus for myself and my family flying out of Boston for Heathrow early tomorrow morning so your video is perfect timing. 👍🏻 I’ve managed to keep it a surprise for them so hopefully some smiling faces. Thanks again.
Brilliant review.... I enjoyed Premium from London to Cape Town, and you are right, the Upgrade is very worth it. I do think having to pay for seat selection with BA is very cheeky though.
Thank you! Ahhh yes, right up at least as far as even business class these days, sadly it’s a widespread policy across many carriers these days. Thankfully with status, you can choose for free ahead of the flight (silver and above at time of booking) but not a great deal of help to those who don’t fly BA often! 😅
Another great review. Thanks for sharing. 👍 I used to fly via Abu Dhabi a few times a year and the old terminal was always so busy and crowded. I’m definitely looking forward to experiencing the new terminal.
You’re very welcome and thank you! Ahhh, I’m glad to have missed out on that. I’m a regular into Dubai terminal 1 which is so often absolutely packed in the evenings especially, I have that image in my head for how Abu Dhabi probably used to be!
I flew back from Washington on October Ba premium economy. Well the upgrade for the extra room, nice food and service. Also being served before economy means it's a restful flight at night. Thanks for a positive but honest review
I’m using BA PE nx month for round trip Dallas to Heathrow I did it on my return last year and was impressed as a free upgrade But paid this time Hopefully it will be worth the price
Hi thanks for sharing this review, i'm travelling next month with my husband to Cancun, it does give me a very good idea what to expect it does look worth it!
Think it depends a little on where you’re flying from. From the UK all too often the case, but not always price wise. I think they’re on an improvement journey for sure, it will however take some time… Thanks also!
I flew BA to Singapore on their A380 recently, the only problem on the flight was the AC was way too strong. It was so cold people were putting hats and jumpers on, asked cabin crew to turn it down, but they didn't do anything. It made a 13.5 hour flight even more unbearable.
Ohhh that’s grim! Cabin temperature I know can be a really contentious issue as those who like it cold would argue it’s easier to get warm than cool down in a cabin too warm however, it’s too suffered a Baltic experience with a number of carriers as it’s for sure not nice!
Totally agreed. The same as we flied PE on LHR/HKG in Aug. and the flight attendants even claimed they did not have any spare blankets for passengers. It was really unbearable and the attitude of FA was zero customer-oriented what so ever.
Only downside to your water starter, no sparkling/champagne camera toast! 😀 Another super review. BA PE is nice, but the seat recline may be too nice. If someone reclines in front of you, it can be tight. Still, if the premium over Economy is reasonable, it's definitely worth the upgrade. Btw, great to see your comments/subscriber count increasing - - very happy for you, it's well-deserved!
Haha I know right! Don’t worry, full service will be resumed in the videos ahead! Yeah agreed on the recline but given the additional 6+ inches of seat pitch, I’ve never found it to be a big issue thankfully. Thanks so much! Recent two videos have hit the ground really well, I’ll soon be switching up to 2 videos weekly (or thereabouts) so exciting times for the channel…
Brilliant review! Question on the dimmable shades- have you ever had the crew lock the flight so every window is dimmed at the same level? Drives me mad!
Looked a pretty reasonable service and that departure terminal looked very impressive. Last week I flew Club Europe with BA and was very dissapointed but even more so with Euro traveller on the return trip, almost total zero interaction from the cabin crew, if the flight was full I would expect it but with less than a 50% load factor, I expected better. Such a pity that one flight can lower expectations so much.
@@Travelsbydreamer Thank you but can you not recline in the other rows? I am very indecisive...or in the middle by the aisle, or last row by the aisle too. I like the fact not having anyone behind me kicking me but concerned with the toilet noise, smashing door, etc.
@@coloradocolorado1527 I’ve always found the recline on the rear row to be really good. Can’t speak for every aircraft of course but for me personally, I’d often book the rear. Only aspect that might put me off is the closeness to economy with potential for infants in the front row…
Thank you for the video! Do you (or anyone else) know if I can plug in my own headphones with a standard 3.5mm jack or would I need one of those airplane adaptors?
How did you find the IFE box under the seat, did it infringe on leg room or was it ok? Also did you see whether they were at every seat, or just row 17?
Didn’t find it an issue at all, so much so to the extent that I hadn’t even thought about it before reading your question so that’s probably a good indicator 😊 Didn’t look though, sorry. Worth checking out my video aboard the Dreamliner a year ago as on that one, I say further back and actually spent the flight across 2 rows so should give some useful insights!
Someone asked about luggage. I do things differently. I buy relatively cheap luggage. Always black..Then using glowing the dark road paint I carefully put my name, email and home address as well as my cell phone number on all six sides of the case. My taxi driver at Dublin Airport had no difficulty in finding us at arrivals. Nobody wants your luggage as you can't get the paint off the suitcase. If luggage is misplaced or lost at the airport mine will find it's way home.
Haha good thinking! I generally stand pretty close to where it comes out ready to jump on mine! The yellow touches to the level8 stuff makes it easy to spot thankfully
The video I've been looking for! Here's a question for you. I fly out economy to Orlando in September and then premium on the way back. I have been debating every day if I should update to premium on the way out. The plane so far looks only half full on the way out so was hoping to get a window seat and spread out across the two other chairs. If that works out to be the case would it still be worth the upgrade in your opinion?
Glad it was useful! Ooooo tricky one. If you can guarantee being able to spread over multiple seats it’s probably not worth it. I had a recent LHR - LAX on a near empty 777 and it was absolutely glorious. PE does get a larger entertainment screen, better food and priority check in / boarding so all aspects to consider of course. Not least more tier points too if you’re looking to push into the next category ✈️
@@Travelsbydreamer Thanks for the reply. All the above in PE are great but it's mainly the space I'm going for. I'm 6 ft and pretty broad. It's a tricky one.

Sure have, recent review on my channel. That was LHR - JFK a few months back. Yeah, you do often get a really good view, best to sit on the right hand side of the aircraft then most arrivals do come over the city 😃

When we travel to Orlando so many people leave it and its a waste. Premium cabin is nice for the space and the little touches. Wouldn't really pay the extra but if had avios then could consider.

I’ve got a comparison video between BA and Virgin launching next week, hope it’ll be of use! 😃
@@Travelsbydreamer oh cheers! I’ll take a look. Thx for the reply!
Have you flown Malaysia 🇲🇾 airlines
Is it really bad to not have the individual air vents above?
Hmm, I’m generally fairly relaxed however, when on the ground somewhere like Abu Dhabi, they’re often a god send 😃
@@Travelsbydreamer hahha thank youu!! I wish they weere mandatory in every aircraft
@@mylahf5479 I know right, they can be really useful especially if the cabin is set a little warm etc.
@@Travelsbydreamer BA cheaped out on any "options" in the passenger cabin's of their aircraft for about a decade now...
@@journeyingjohn3275 Wouldn’t shock me, especially after the deletion of screens on the short haul aircraft…

What About Malaysia 🇲🇾
Can u buy Duty Free cigarettes on flights
And I’d it cheaper
Heard I think BA were bringing back duty free sales but not a clue sadly!
Very good review again 😃 the configuration in the Premium Economy should be 2-2-2 🫨
Thanks so much! That would be so amazing but I think would add too much extra cost 😅
Oddly, even business class just in front on this jet has a 2-3-2 config so you do get similar seat width to business 😃
