I had the same thing happen to me.....husband came home one day & said he didn't want to be married. No reason given....ever. So I get her. But I was un survival mode....we'd just moved 2000 miles & I didn't have a job yet. So I focused on that to help me through. I've never married again, though came close once.

I think that the simplicity of it made her look radiant. The other lace, busier dresses aged her and made her look like she was trying too hard.
Yes! Simple stands out bc everyone does frills & florals & sparkles etc. There’s something timeless and even regal about a more structured, simple gown. This will never go out of style, or look ‘dated’. It is classic. Perfection.
I think that brides struggling with insecurities and lack of confidence are really brave to come out on the camera and talk about their feelings 😥

I was married for 22 years when hubby decided to get out. To make sure there was no reconciliation, he so verbally abused me about my faults and short comings, that 25 years later, I never recovered my confidence. I wish her all the best

Now he thinks he can come back, why?! so I can return the favour and bring him down ?!?
I’m so thankful that this bride had Gok, who is a Counsellor to his brides as well as a Consultant. If she’d had David, her self esteem would have just plummeted as he would have put her in some monstrosity and blamed her for being anxious.
AND David would have found her a dress that was over budget.

Gok is such an amazing human being - no drama, no overreacting. Just treating people with kindness and showing them their best selves.
I started to cry seeing her anxiety and pain in the first dress. My heart just ached for her. Gok said exactly the right things to gently encourage her confidence. Then seeing her face when she came down in the third dress made me freaking ball like a baby! I'm just so happy for her and the dress was EVERYTHING! Such a perfect gown for the perfect bride
The pain in her eyes when she talked about her ex husband 😭 I'm glad she is able to move on and smile again and her her supportive daughter is the best!!!

Shops have dresses that are exclusive to their shop from the designer. Also dresses stocked are for the area the shop is in , what kind of weddings happen there and what venues are like
Fabulous, flattering third dress -- the others may have made this older bride feel too 'mutton-dressed-as-lamb,' but this is sophisticated and flattering to the max. Gok demonstrates once again that he is as much a therapist, able to help women see themselves as beautiful, as he is a bridal consultant. Bravo and brava, a great episode.

Just so heartbreaking to see how she felt after going through the experience of her first divorce... when I see people going through this, I wish I could tell them "you are enough!". She looked stunning, classy and just down right gorgeous in that 3rd dress. Wishing her happiness and hope she finds her path to true love.. with herself and her new husband.
I know this feeling. I was in a relationship for seven years and he just would not marry me but he wouldn’t tell me why he just never could pull the trigger so for two years after I left I was left feeling what was wrong with me. It took me that long to realize that it wasn’t me he just wasn’t the right person
I feel you, mine just stopped showing me any affection after 7 years but wouldn’t give me any reason and when I asked said I was insecure or jealous. I had to dump him as treated me like an inconvenience but wouldn’t do the decent thing and end it himself. Couldn’t get even a hug or a kiss off him, and not a single word of explanation.

I have to say that this episode set off a major PTSD emotional episode for me. I've been through the loss of a relationship that for me feels like it has knocked the wind out of my sails. I have been through a lot in my life and am yet to be married, I do wonder if I ever will. This has seriously brought up a lot of fears and tears. Thank you Gok..
That 3rd dress is stunning and is perfect for Sarah. Gok is a marvellous dresser, he knows what to put on a woman to make her feel fabulous. I also appreciate the way he trains his assistants, to be helpful, positive influences.

I love how Gok gets to the heart of the issues and helps his clients work through and look past them. As fantastic as he is at his job, I think he missed a calling in life as he would be a wonderful therapist/counsellor. He's so kind and caring and gentle with the brides, it's beautiful to watch.
We truly are our own worst critic. When I saw her standing in front of that mirror in that first dress I literally thought "wow, she looks so beautiful". I was just heartbreaking that she couldn't see it. The third dress was stunning too.
