    Awesome video, Thanks. I just picked up a game with too much blue . Once I got it home I cleaned it, waited a bit and just did a full cap kit. Some of the NB traces were coming up where you said but when I turned it on for the first time,.. Nothing blew up, yeahhh, First cap kit ever) but the blue was still strong. Fooled with the NB pots and turn blue all the way down and messed with the other some but still a little off or dark but looks a lot better than it did. I think I will check the those transistors or maybe be better to just replace them as well.

      It might be the tube unfortunately, hopefully not because that can't be repaired! Sometimes if one color is too strong, it's really that the other two colors are really weak on the tube.

    Hi and thanks for the video. I'm thinking about dabbling in the k7500 monitors and I've got the k7000s down pat pretty good but I'm having a hard time finding flow charts and much information for the k7500s. Would you be able to provide me with any tip or a link to a good flow chart for that?
    Thanks

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 3 lety +1

      Randy Fromm did make one (he made most of the monitor flow charts on the internet) but I think the one he made was for the U2000 which is very similar. You probably know Wells made the U2000 and U5000, and then decided they had too many issues so upgraded them into the redesigned K7400 and K7500. You can also find repair tips on wellsgardner.com just click at the top under service and support, they have a ton of troubleshooting guides and schematics, etc. for all their monitors on there. Everybody acts like the U2000's and U5000's are horrible but really once they have the couple update kits they released for them they're about the same as the 7400's and 7500's. You probably already know this too, but the U2000 and K7400 are low res and the U5000 and K7500 are medium res. A lot of the driving games from the 90's are medium res and most of the fighters, etc. are low res.

    I got an cruis n usa arcade cabinet, mine does not display red color, sometimes when i got it on for a while its shows red, but again its gone, could it be that board?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 5 lety

      Yes it's likely this neck board in this video doing the exact same thing, bad solder on the transistors.

    Joe I have to wiggle the neck board on the yoke to get some colors sometimes??!? Do you know what could be the problem?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 5 lety +1

      Look and see if the transistors are loose, if not you may need to clean the pins on the tube (carefulllly), they may be tarnished so it doesn't make a good connection in the socket.

    Hello Joe, love the channel. I am new to the CRT world. I have a 25 inch CRT Hantarex polo for my K I. Overall the picture is great but I did notice a few faint blue vertical lines to the far left. The lines tend to move towards the left during game play. Any suggestions on how to correct this minor issue? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

    Man I wish I lived near you guys. I'm having a geometry issue on the left side of my screen(K7400). Could a gameboard(MK2) have anything to do with that? Also, I get a little shaking on the screen(very little and not often) during matches.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 4 lety

      In general No, the gameboard wouldn't cause any geometry issues on the screen but I guess it depends on what the issue is. The only thing I can say about MK II is whenever they designed the attract mode, the screens that it steps through have this marbelized background, and they're not all centered, and they're not all even the same color! I always thought that was really strange. So in other words, it's impossible to center the screen on the attract mode, you have to center it on the game play screen if that makes sense.
      A little shaking on the screen, see if it appears to happen when the screen gets brighter. If it does, that's likely something in the power regulation area.... in general the way I would try to fix both problems would be to replace all the electrolytic capacitors, you probably also need a new flyback if your brightness or your focus drifts as the game is left on for awhile. On K7400's we always do full electrolytic capkits and new flybacks. You can get those from www.ArcadePartsAndRepair.com ...

    Great repair vid Joe 😎 question, I have a GO7 that is missing the black color. It's very red, pinkish. Could it be a color transistor?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 7 lety +2

      Yes it could be, but you should be able to turn the brightness down until the black is black. If no matter what you do there's just red everywhere, the red transistor is probably locked on and needs replaced. Unfortunately it could be the tube too, the gun in the neck could be shorted to the heater or the grid making it stay red all the time.
