One of the reasons this film works so well is that the lead takes a lot of punishment and this feels vulnerable, not like many action films where the hero takes out legions of goons without breaking a sweat.
Exactly!
Yeah just don't watch Die Hard 4 or 5 😂
He also looks like a regular guy that's in shape, rather than a guy whose physique is his job.
The foot glass scene always makes me uneasy.
But then k chuckle at the SWAT guy and the rose bush😂
@@thedroneflyingviking1284 the last one was so bad, I liked 4 though... Even though it would've been better if it was rated R
This Bruce Willis month was a lot of fun. It was very awesome of you to find so many ways to donate to such a worthy cause. I am looking forward to more of your videos in the future.
Thank you friend! I'm so glad you enjoyed them all :)
The textbook definition of lightning in a bottle!
A perfect movie!
The movie psychology behind the scene where Al shoots Karl was effectively parodied in "Hot Shots 2" -"Thank you, Topper. I can kill again! You've given me a reason to live."
What a great series this was and for a brilliant cause. Top work Red Eye, Merry Christmas 🎉
Yippie ki yay redeye reviews!! Thank you for all the Willis!! 🎄❄️🎁 Merry Christmas & happy holidays!
Thank you! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you as well 😀
Just saw Arnold on a show talking about how Joel Silver offered him the part of McClane first because they had worked together before. Arnold had other commitments however and Willis got the role.
That's very interesting. As much as I love Arnold, Bruce Willis was definitely a better fit.

I genuinely get joy and pleasure out of watching your videos of movies that I’ve already seen 1 million times this is crazy
Buddy, your efforts toward this foundation is admirable. Cheers, and I hope this Christmas is a safe and cozy one for you and yours. ❤
I've always wondered why Karl was put in a body bag with a gun. lol
Fun fact: John Travolta, Richard Gere, Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood, Robert De Niro, Charles Bronson, Don Johnson, Richard Dean Anderson, Burt Reynolds, and Michael Madsen were considered, but declined the role of John McClane.
Die Hard is a sequel to an old Frank Sinatra movie and he was contractually obliged to first offer on the role but he was in his late 70s so thankfully passed
@@jplonsdale7242 I heard that Bruce Willis was an extra in that film. They even appear on screen together. There is a scene where Sinatra is in a cafe. As he leaves, a group of people come in. 1 of them is Willis.
Merry Christmas RedEye...
I hope you've jad a good one... it's been the worst one of my entire life. I've never been so hurt and emotionally destroyed in my life...
I really appreciate you and your content. Something I can escape into... if I'm left with just myself for too long, I'm not going to make it to Canadian Boxing Day still breathing
Stay strong bro.
Thank you for doing this. He is one of the best actors ever.
You got a heart of gold RedEye. Hapoy holidays!
Quite simply, one of the best action flicks of all time. Maybe *the* best. I remember seeing this legendary movie in the theater right before I started college, and recognizing how great this film was even while I was watching it. I didn't want the movie to end! Upon subsequent viewings, it is funny to track Bruce Willis' undershirt continually changing colors: from white, to gray, to olive, to almost black, back to grey, etc. Other than that inconsequential continuity error, "Die Hard" transformed the whole genre, making the action feel more grounded and the leading man more vulnerable, hence heightening the stakes and tension. 10/10 movie.
great work on this series! It was a blast to watch! Merry Christmas.
This Bruce Willis marathon ! Watched them all in one go. Wow, thanks 🤲🏾
We all knew what number one would be but still so damn awesome.
Great job on the series Red-eye! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
McLane is he best 80's action hero, because he's more grounded in reality. He actually is tired, hurt, sometimes afraid. He makes mistakes and he doesn't look like a giant bag of meat but like a regular dude.
He still have onle-liners though.
Happy Festivus!
Just rewatched it today yeah the emotional scene on the radio with Al after his feet get shredded makes him very human and how terrified he is after the fire hose leap
This and Die Hard 2 are in my top 5 Christmas Movies. The others are Home Alone 1 & 2, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
Walking laurel commercial. That might be your best joke ever
*bows* thank you, thank you
Best video series so far. Look forward to a Hulk-a-thon soon
Hulk a thon! Great idea
I love your commentary. This was a great series. Thanks.
I understand that an Urkel joke is obligatory here, but you never have to look for Steve. If he's around, you'll know it.
Merry Christmas and more movies! Allow me to correct though - there were two intelligent cops in this movie - intelligent Al "These Are For My Wife" Powell and super intelligent Johnny "Yippicayee" MacClane. Otherwise you nailed it!
I hate it when people say it's not a Christmas movie 😂😂🎄🎅
“Come out to the coast, we’ll have blast”
Come out to the coast. We'll get together. Have a few laughs.
@@orinanime
Good memory, haven’t watched it in few years .
Awesome Video 👊🏼
Keep up the good work,
Cheers 🍻
On one hand, great cause. On the other hand, I can't be the only one that finds it strange that Willis came down with memory issues after he appeared on 'The List'
There are those who count Die Hard as a Christmas movie and there are those who are wrong!
Die Hard is my go to Christmas movie, that said Lethal Weapon is the best Christmas movie. Fortunately I don't need to watch LW on Christmas because its also the best valentines day movie so I watch it in February....man those guys loved each other
You are awesome. Thank you for doing what you do!!!! Merry Christmas to you
Top 3 Xmas Movies 1. Die Hard, 2. It's A Wonderful Life, 3. Bad Santa. I like them dark.
Yeah they told the Japanese that Americas traditionally eat KFC on Christmas. I remember an international student in college was Hella mad KFC wasnt even open😂😂😂
The Japanese KFC franchisee was very smart lol
that ambulance was never in the lorry the first time
16:24 Carl BEAT PTSD, remember??!!?!?!?he shot a kid.....
Ukrel had it coming
11:13 BTW "CALvary is the hill Jesus died on", CAValry means horse mounted SOLDIERS. My wife wanted to let you know.
I'm a huge Big Bang fan..... but you're absolutely right about the punchability of Jim Parsons
Reginald VelJohnson, best cop in a movie, best TV dad ever!
Merry Christmas you filty animal because today, is Tuesday 🌲🎅😬👍
We watch "Die Hard"every Christmas. John McLain is endering because he's not invincible (yet). Hans isn't perfect, John isn't perfect, it feels more plausible than other 80's action movies w8th infinite ammo and health bars.
I believe it’s technically an Advent film.
Merry Christmas
Die Hard is one of the greatest action films, but I recently thought about a question: "What if Hans Gruber has hijacked the mask ball, which also took place on Christmas Eve, of Eyes Wide Shut (1999)?"
Here's 1 people do not realize , I should have done a video on it years ago but since I'm a Half Stepper
Here Ya Go , anyone.... The 1st 3 Die Hards are 9/11
Check it and tell Me I'm wrong
& Oh Yea.... They came out years prior 3 in 98 I believe it was
Ok ya got me interested…I would like a little more info on what ya mean exactly and how they correlate with 911, thanks
@@pork-chopexpress991 just my personal guess on OP's comment... The first one Bruce is stuck on top of a tall building, second one is in an airport, and the third takes place in NYC. Lol, that's the only things I can think of
Only now as an adult do I sympathize with Dwayne Robinson
Just like Mclaine he is an ordinary cop who is in over his head but nobody listens to him despite being a superior officer
Kinda surprised that you skipped Die Hard 2, which kept the Christmas tradition. As opposed to Die Hard 3, which dropped that tradition.
Thanks red eye😂
Thank you for watching :)
This little known song could open "Die Hard": czcams.com/video/wYHleFFhlFk/video.html Gene Belcher: "Why is no one singing? Why is no one dancing? Die Hard: The Musical! czcams.com/video/luDto63LDlo/video.html Seasonal note: Every time a CZcams viewer falls in love with "Firefly," a Fox TV executive falls off the Naktomi Plaza building.;)
_"We'll have a few laughs..."_
Yep, family, killing, blood all over the place, peace, goodness, shot in the head, and other signs of Christmass spirit. Yep.
This was fun to watch. I think the second die hard movie is even more of a Christmas movie than the first one. Im sure people will disagree but can we at least all agree on it as still being a xmas movie?
Trancers is my favorite Christmas movie
Yes
What the hell RedEye, what has Jim Parsons done to you? 😂
One of the best movies ever made.
KFC must be great every where else except the US lol, I hear Brits love it and so do the Japanese and Chinese. I've never heard Americans fawn over them
I never took the time to think about it but William Atherton is in 2 of my 3 favorite films of all time with this one and Ghostbusters (Star Wars is my #1). He basically plays the same level of douchebag in both movies and I'm not sure anyone has ever done it better.
I'm glad someone had the courage, the outright testicular fortitude, to say what we all know to be true. Best. Christmas. Movie. Ever.
People need to define what they mean about this being an Xmas movie. Is it set at xmas? Yeah. Is it about xmas? No! Ask the question within the correct context for a clear answer.
Your Favorite Christmas movie of all time, but not mine.
Who ya calling a filthy animal?!?!?!
Hey..this movie already show in Rick And Morty Universe....😂😂😂😂
Hans Olo is dead? uh oh
The best movie of all time. Masterpiece.
The best
This is my favorite Bruce Willis movie as well, one of the best action movies of all time and a certified Christmas classic, what's not to love? Oh and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Jim Parsons has a punchable face. Merry Christmas everyone!! 🎄
I prefer Batman Returns. Especially if you're going to call Die Hard a Christmas movie. Batman Returns must be too. 😜
5:21 am I the only one that thinks this guy looks like Jeffrey Dahmer 😅
Nah bad Santa is 😂
Argyle is arguably one of the most pointless characters ever created.
Han died? Jeez I don’t watch that crap for good reasons
Don’t like the film, corny American stuff. Never been a big Bruce Willis fan.
What happened, man? A year ago your videos were funny. We loved them! Then you got obsessed with Seagal and became less funny, and now your movie reviews are just that, plot summaries and little else. Where did the funny go? We used to look forward to your videos, and now we skip most of them, because whenever we do watch one we're just disappointed. Bring back the humor! There are tons of crappy ninja movies being made even now, not to mention all the "classics" from back in the day that you used to use for funny videos.
Merry Christmas, Redeye. My mom's got deme tia so I appreciate all that you're doing. Have a happy new year!
