    This is a parallettes workout for basic strength and flexibility. All you need is a decent set of parallettes and you can use the push routine outlined in this video to get started. The workout includes a detailed warm-up, strength sets (main workout) plus a bonus HIIT cardio superset you can use to burn fat if that's one of your goals.
    Although parallettes are more used in gymnastics, you'll also see them used by fitness enthusiasts for calisthenics, CrossFit and more. I recommend buying parallettes that meet your needs. If you're looking for something affordable, versatile and easy to travel with that allows you to learn all the basics, the StrongBlocks are the way to go (see link above). If you're looking for something bigger but sturdier that you can learn inversions with in the future, something larger like these Ultimate Body Press parallettes are a good option but cost a bit more: amzn.to/32JlMfD
    This is the outline of the parallettes workout in the video...
    Warm-up:
    • Cat Cow (1 min)
    • Toe Touches (1 min)
    • Hamstring stretch (2-3 min)
    • Core Compression (1 or 2 sets)
    • Straight-arm plank
    • Reverse plank
    Strength Sets with 3 min rest between:
    • current L-Sit Progression (5 sets)
    • Pendulum Swing (5 sets)
    • Deep Push-Ups (5 sets)
    HIIT Cardio (optional):
    • Toe Taps (1 min)
    • Mountain Climbers (1 min)
    (perform both 1-min intervals back-to-back, then rest 60 sec and repeat. Aim for 4-5 cycles or more)
    I hope this workout is challenging for you. Stay tuned for an intermediate level parallettes routine where we'll learn bent-arm handstand and tucked planche!

      Its not hard. Watch your words, you want to be more confident than that if you want to change your body. Start with holds, get strong in negitave movements and micro manage works wonders too ...Do your max set when ever you get time during your day to bust some out then wait awhile (1-2) hours and repeat max set. Do this all day long. I wrote all this because it hurts my heart to see someone saying parallets are too difficult. They are more like a adrenaline rush once u get started. U dont have to be great to get started ... You have to get started to be great! 💪🔥👍

    I’ve just ordered myself some parralettes to start this kind of practice. However, I already know from my dance and yoga practice, my arms are a bit short in ratio to my torso. When I sit in an ‘L’ and put my hands flat on the floor by my pelvis, my arms are as straight as they can go, there is no access to a bend at my elbow to be able to lift my body in that position like most people do. Is this meaning I’ll have to adapt exercises or do it still work for anatomy like mine? I know it means I can’t really do certain asanas hence why I ask

    What paralleled do you recommend for a beginner intending to grow and do advanced workouts? The small ones look like you can outgrow them

    • @MinusTheGym
      @MinusTheGym  Před 4 lety +1

      The bigger sturdier ones if you plan on learning inversions. The small ones are great for traveling so you can do L-sits, planche work and have push up grips on the road, but I'd never recommend inversions of any kind on the small collapsible ones.

    Hey Ryan, curious as to what fitness goals you're training for these days?

    • @MinusTheGym
      @MinusTheGym  Před 4 lety +6

      ICheeekyI hey there. Currently I'm training hard to solidify my freestanding HSPUs (on the floor - not parallettes). I can get 1 or 2 reps in a set, but I'm arching badly. I'm trying to get those straight, solid and more consistent. I've also started training human flag but it feels like that will be a long journey :) Physique-wise I honestly haven't had any goals lately, but I plan to drop body fat soon, aiming for 8% or less, so I can make a video about how to lean out.

    So when I do a set of 10 push ups I have to wait 3 minutes to get back to do another set?

      cinetici you don't have to, but if the sets are very intense (reaching muscular failure) then longer rests are good so you're as fresh as possible for each set.
      In a nutshell, if your primary objective is gaining strength, long rests for optimal sets is best. Short rests are good for working on endurance and fat burn.
