This is the best poker game I've ever seen. Home environment, interesting dialogues. You can't even say that the game takes place in the studio, it feels like friends have gathered at someone's house and are playing poker.
It was the best poker show ever produced. The cast of characters is what really made it great. The new modern players are extremely boring. These guys were true gamblers.

@@joeince7637 If you have 4 10s or the boat there you absolutely check the river because there is no way you are getting called after all that previous action. Give the other guy a chance to hang himself is the only way to extract money in that circumstance.

The K-6 Hand against Antonius was amazing
That was based on history between the two of them. They have bluffed each other so many times before, neither one of them wanted to give an inch on a televised cash game. Hence the crazy pots with the K6 and the KQ.
Sammy doesn't get enough credit for this hand, he always gets shitted on for the KQ vs J9 Antonius hand but this almost never gets mentioned, this was probably the biggest hand ever for a while

Loved how Jamie thought he had Sammy in a trap and once he realized he was the one in a trap he started regretting his decisions and trying to keep Sammy from putting more money in the pot. Sammy was honest when he said "I like you so I don't put more money in" and Jamie was lucky he did. I would say I hope Jamie learned something in that hand but we all know he didn't. Oh, and the only reason Sammy hinted that he has him crushed is, again, because he liked him and felt bad. Any other Joe Shmoe in that pot and Sammy would've kept the act up and took every cent from him. Farha was always my favorite. He's the epitome of the Orwell quote about rough men. He's cold blooded when he needs to be but also has a massive heart.

but when Sammy lost, it was always laser eyes at the dealer. This is something Sammy is notorious for. If the dealer helped him catch up then it was a different story, of course. This dealer was a cool customer.

@@adelabobadilla5752 in the movie they talk about a WSOP champ who wasn’t good at all. Just got lucky. That’s Jamie Gold. He was a regular at Molly’s game where he lost a good chunk of his winnings. Sammy wanted to play in that game really bad and Jamie was his way in. Not sure if Sammy got to play but that’s why he was nice to Jamie there.

You might think Sammy is a cold gambler, but that last ultra cringy hand showed that he has way more heart than Gold who just (successfully) manipulated him till the end.
I don't think so. I think Kaplan hit it on the head. Farhah is not letting him keep 200 thousand out of the pot if he knows he's ahead. Gold talked him into a checkdown. I'll bet anything he thought about this hand for awhile and was angry with himself. Farha somehow changed his mind about Gold holding two Kings which I'm sure through deduction is what he put him on. I'm not even sure if Greenstein was right about Gold saving himself money. Sammy pushes Gold probably gives up the hand
@@nalvarado65 You've read it all wrong. Sammy knew he was ahead. Sammy knew Jamie was trying to get one over on him. The only one truly playing someone else in this hand is Farha, Gold played himself. Sammy knew Gold could not afford to lose that extra $200K so he let him off. He tried teaching him a lesson but Gold obviously didn't want to learn. Jamie thought he was playing Farha, and if it wasn't for Farha letting him know he played himself and that he might want to back off he would've lost that extra $200K.

Sammy knew he had him beat, he just didn’t want to come out looking greedy or like a bad sport on tv, that’s why he counted his money at the end so he could show Jamie what he was forgiving him, Sammy would of bet that whole stack if it wasn’t being televised.
He absolutely did not know he had Jaime beat. Sammy even says later in the episode that he was worried about four tens. Pros do not grant mercy to other pros, especially when they know each other. There's no room for that in poker, anyways.

I enjoy playing with Farha today. He doesn’t play NLHE anymore seems like, only PLO. He’s a nice guy to other players but can be a bit rude to dealers at times. He still plays, he just doesn’t do it on TV.

ill never understand why he is hard on dealers. They are part of the equipment of the game. It would be the same as if he was upset at the chips or cash or the table felt. Taking your frustrations out on the dealer after all these years just makes no sense.

One of the most entertaining hands I've have ever seen was Sammy's Aces against Jamie Gold's Kings. Doyle Brunson was not amused because he is from the real old school. You just don't see a table full of characters like this anymore.
When Antonio says "Let's see a dark bet and a dark raise" he starts a chain of events that I think is worthy of a movie... it's the most entertaining hand of poker I've ever seen. I know a lot of people are turned off by Jamie Gold's antics in the hand... but he was able to confuse Sammy just enough to save an all in situation.
