Personally, I feel gross metering is bliss... consider this, if you have demand of say around 150-200 units per month for all 12 months of the year and you manage to set up a solar system which serves you say, 250-300 units of electricity then it can be a great way to earn some money, but of course after deducing the fixed rate amount. If that doesn't work then an isolated solar system (with batteries) should be the priority here as this net metering tends to have a loop hole. You see, what if your system is just banking the electricity to the grid according to the above example in this comment and you really never need to take electricity from grid, but still you end up paying the fixed cost, so in that way isolated can be better.
Don't just conclude that gross metering is bad.

In net metering there also rare income exists (quarterly, half yearly or yearly settlements are done). Only energy banking with net metering is just not true. It depends on state solar policies. In gross we cannot take difference of energy used in account.
    Firstly MERC now KERC ...
    Support one nation one policy.

7:37 that 64 units of electricity produced by solar panel won't be used in calculation for net payment from January to May ?? Because that 64 unit remained intact or extra , so while calculating for the mentioned period , I hope that should be considered for calculation ..

  • @kalyanchakravarthy8557

    Hi sir ,
Your video is good and explanative .But everybody saying differently than you.You are saying out of total generation we subtract our consumed units and the rest will be compensated according to fixed tarrriff, but others saying no adjustment with our consumption ,whatever we generated through solar will export to grid and that will multiplied with fixed tariff .Which one is correct any evidence or document to the argument sir .
    Please sir reply

It is not like that you are telling there is a catch in net metering when you consume in day time that electricity doesn't get calculated in net metering.

Ref. to standard electricity bills. However you are getting x no. Of units free comparising the almost fixed amount (most similar to the landline phone bills). That also varies with load sanctioned
