A G21 was a quality tool on the job for many years. I liked it so much that I bought one for personal use. They hold up well and continue to do exactly what you expect them to do - launch 230 grains of lead downrange every time you pull the trigger and do so reliably.

I have a third gen G21. I've had other guns various sizes. The G21 is a keeper. When other guns jammed at the range with all kinds re-loads, my G21 ate everything and never jammed. This is why I keep the G21. Goddamnit I'm gonna propose to my G21.

I got a le trade in gen 4 21. It came with factory night sights. I did replace them with ameriglow night sights and just put a wilson barrel in it. Its surprising how much it increased the accuracy but other than that, its stock. It goes everywhere with me. I really love it

I have the extended beavertail on my glock 20 gen 4 and that beavertail allows you to choke way up and I feel in my grip that when I squeeze down the beavertail helps mitigate some muzzle flip, just allows my hand the extra contact and leverage.

Just so you know, that’s a gen 3. Gen 2.5 has finger groves, thumb rests, and 3 pins, no rail. Gen 3 was introduced in 1998 and came with the rail along with all listed features above. Yours is without question a gen 3.

I'm years late but I have the G21 Gen 4 and it is my EDC. I carry 230 gr hard ball for self defense and 185 gr solid core for hikes. We have a lot of black bear and gators. Wild hogs and cougars are here to. I carry mine in the appendix position with an awesome Alien wear holster. The gen 4 gives you 3 beaver tails I use the second largest and the grip is perfect. If you remove all the beaver tails the grip is exactly the same as the G30s a lot of people don't know that.

Say Heah Mathew, Infact I posted my Fav's. I Converted my Para Ordnance Expert S. S. because it was listed as a probable gun to Convert into a .460 Rowland Round. Its as powerful as a .44 Magnum but with more firepower. It has more of a push then barrel jump so my second shot is on target much faster. It's not a target pistol because of it's power and stress on the weapon. But it's definitely a great defence weapon even on Black Bear. I like a more compact weapon since I don't hunt Black Bear and I try avoiding shooting them. Although it does make me more confident carrying it though.,,.p

I honestly can't imagine a worse conceal carry pistol than a Glock 21. For me of course. I'm just under 6ft tall. Also, I live in Texas and I only wear one layer of light clothing most of the year. Impossible to conceal. It is impossible to draw quickly too. Even if you are a bigger person I don't recommend carrying a pistol that has a barrel length greater than 4". That is too much distance you have to pull upward in order to clear the holster to draw the weapon and get it into battery. Fast and easy draw is what will save your hide. "Superior" caliber, higher capacity and marksmanship are very VERY rarely a deciding factor. Go watch a hundred or so shootings over at ASP (Active Self Protection) youtube channel. Your "target" is almost always inside of 7 yards. Getting your weapon in battery and getting a shot off in under one second is mandatory. Honestly, good holster selection and practicing fast draw in front of a mirror is hundreds of times more valuable then hours and hours and thousands of rounds spent working on your group size at the range. Keep your Glock 21 on your nightstand. I think you should look for something shorter for out on the streets.

I'm here in South Texas , I carry a G21 concealed with no problems, I also carry a G30S and I will say I much prefer shooting the 21 over the 30s , for me the 21 isn't hard to conceal I'm 5.7 ,190 pounds.... I think it just depends on how you dress and as you know it's hot as hell down here, I'm a jeans and t shirt guy , nobody never notices my g21 but carry what you shoot the best and for me that's the G 21 which is my primary carry

Wouldn't really trust a .45 for bear defense. Even hardball is likely to get defeated by rib.
Lots of data shows 9mm will actually do better against black bear.
But .40 is king against black bear and grizzlies. G23 is the MVP daily carry/woods gun.

@@Dolnews Never said .45 is better than 10mm. I said .40 is better than .45
.40 is a modern cartridge, with an optimized ballistic coefficient. The .45 is a century-cold cartridge that can't squeeze enough powder into its case to propel that slug. If the .45 casing were the same length as a 10mm, this would be a different conversation. Unfortunately, you are still ignorant, and you should apologize to me.
