Is there a program about the (admittedly hypothetical) daily life in any part of the neolithic in the UK, covering topics such as food and clothing? I understand these items biodegrade, but are there any clues? Were they weaving cloth, and out of what, flax yet? Can they look at tooth plaques for food DNA remnants as have been analysed in Neanderthals? Can they analyse what is in the pores of clay pots? Also, were they travelling by foot? Also, do the purported (now submerged, at edge of Doggerland) boat-building sites give clues as to neolithic seagoing vessels? So, basically everything:) Thank you for this excellent content, looking forward to much more. Well done.

Thanks to all for presenting this to world for free. How blessed are we.
Pömmelte is new to me . I wish we had something similar in Britain. Rather puts Woodhenge concrete posts to shame. Could they have undermined the archaeological record?

Wonderful presentation - thank you! Will be watching a second time. I think that there is strong evidence for mapping used to facilitate Neolithic travels which reveals much of their world.

Hi Helen, could you expand. I've found evidence for very early mapping which I would be happy to share with you. But would like to hear your perspective first.

I find the shadows of hands fascinating. One could imagine a being from another world inhabiting the space only revealed by the light. Brilliant staging for a dramatic display.

I am pleased to see that some UK archaeologists are finally using anthopoplogical models and observations for interperting prehistoric cultures.

I am almost certain that a study had shown that Silbury Hill contained organic materials from wide ranging areas of the UK. It seemed to me then that this was indicative of ' staking a claim' to that monument. People were brining food animals with them, as evidenced at Durrington Walls, is it much of a stretch to believe that they carried these stones & sods with them?

The use of the word cruciform to describe some of these structures is incorrect and an anachronism. We are talking BC here not AD.

Rebar & Concrete is not a Stone. Just thought I should clear that up, for the less researched.

I find it very strange that Archaeologists, a sub-field of Anthropology, know nothing of the human story and scoff at the telling. Avebury was a representation of a daylight comet around the Sun which is ~24 seconds from True North of Stonehenge with its Five central Trilithons representing the Five Days of Doom of the Ancient New Year's Festival of the Dead when crossing the pre-perihelion of The Taurid Meteor Stream, which is still commemorated when The Halloween Fireballs happen, being stripped of its New Year designation by the circumcision of a solar deity.

I pressed dislike as although the subject and content of the presentation are fascinating, it is infuriating the way university led presentations insist on having a small floating Zoom head taking up part of the screen when showing us material as though showing the speakers head is ad important as the subject matter, or as though we are to dim to remember who the all to important speaker is.
Please stop that. Either show the speaker or the content, but stop this "Zoom Call" head. Fucking academics, worse than two bit celebrities
